As the top point on the Ron Cueva 1501 series' age ladder, this 33 year old solera edition represents the culmination of a decades-long promise of patient maturation.
Expert Description
Ron Cueva 1501 Sistema 33 Solera is a Panama Rum aged via the solera method for a minimum of 33 years and bottled at 40%.
The rum is the oldest and most exclusive release in the Ron Cueva 1501 series, which otherwise includes 8, 12, 18 and 25 year variants. The 33 years of solera ageing give the rum an unusual depth and maturity, where decades of gradually blending younger and older distillates have created a complexity rarely found in Panama Rum at this price. Like the rest of the series, the rum is distilled from 100% sugar cane molasses and honours the Panamanian Cueva people the brand is named after.
The result is a deep, mature rum, where toasted oak and dark caramel meet a long, complex spiced finish.
