Straw-yellow in the glass and scented with ripe citrus, this Port offers a different, more restrained sweetness than most white Ports – a style sitting somewhere between the fresh and the aged.
Expert's Description
Dalva Dry White Reserve is a Portuguese Dry White Reserve Port from the Douro Valley, aged in oak casks and bottled at 19% – a semi-dry style, not a sweet dessert-style Port.
The Reserve designation means the wine does not come from a single vintage like a Colheita, but is a carefully composed blend that has always spent at least six years in cask – a flexibility that lets Dalva maintain a consistent house style year after year, regardless of variation between individual harvests.
Behind the bottle stands Dalva, the brand of the Port house C. da Silva in Vila Nova de Gaia, founded in 1862. The house has made dry and semi-dry white Port one of its specialities, alongside its better-known Colheita Ports.

Did You Know?
Unlike the house's age-indicated Dry White range (10, 20 and 40 years), the Reserve is not tied to a fixed age or single vintage – instead, its minimum six years in cask ensures the taste stays consistent, whatever year the wine is bottled.
