The second in the series, and possibly the best excuse ever to wait 31 years for a dram
For the whisky lover who loves a good story in the glass
This isn't just another old Springbank. It's the second release in the distillery's new Vintage Series, which launched in 2025 - and this one has been resting in the cask since 1994. 31 years in a mix of bourbon, sherry and red wine casks has given it a depth you'd usually only find in whisky that never makes it to the shelves.
Springbank is the distillery whisky nerds talk about in hushed tones. Located in Campbeltown, the small whisky district that once had over 30 distilleries and now has just three left. Springbank is the only distillery in Scotland that still does everything in-house - from floor malting to bottling - and it gives the whisky a character you won't find anywhere else. With only 1,180 bottles worldwide, this is one you either grab now, or spend the rest of your life talking about the one that got away.
For the collector who knows what Campbeltown means
An official distillery bottling at 31 years old, from a distillery that already has one of the most loyal and price-driving fanbases in the whisky world, rarely sits on shelves for long. The Vintage Series is only in its second release, making this an early part of what may well become a fixed, sought-after annual tradition - much like Springbank's other limited series.
Distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2026, this is one of the oldest official Springbank releases ever to leave the warehouses in Campbeltown. The cask combination (80% bourbon, 10% sherry, 10% red wine) gives it a complexity that sets it apart from the more straightforward 21-year-old core releases.
Tasting Notes
Nose:
Dried pineapple and mango meet ripe melon and honey. Beneath it all sits the earthy, old-school Springbank character, with a touch of sandalwood.
Palate:
Caramelised lemon meringue and a creamy texture reminiscent of custard cream. Mango and pineapple return, this time wrapped in wood and a hint of caramelised popcorn.
Finish:
Earthy and long, with coconut, fresh basil and a touch of Scottish heather.

Official Springbank bottlings with long maturation and low bottle counts have traditionally traded at several times their original release price shortly after launch, and demand for the distillery's older releases has only grown in recent years. With just 1,180 bottles worldwide and a 31-year maturation rarely repeated, there's good reason to expect a similar trajectory here.
Did You Know?
Springbank is the only distillery in Scotland that carries out 100% of production on its own site - from floor malting to bottling. And they distil their whisky "two-and-a-half times", a technique that sits between double and triple distillation, used by no other distillery.
