The name Accord Royal carries a sense of something sealed with a handshake, an agreement fit for a royal court. In the glass there is nothing formal about it, only plum marmalade, toffee and the scent of fresh bread unfolding calmly, a Cognac that knows exactly what it is.
Expert's Description
Remy Martin 1738 Accord Royal is a French Cognac of the Fine Champagne category, bottled at 40%.
The blend consists of at least 60% eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne, the rest from the neighbouring Petite Champagne, a higher share of Grande Champagne than the Fine Champagne designation requires as a minimum. The grapes, mainly Ugni Blanc supplemented by Folle Blanche and Colombard, grow in the same chalky soil that has made the region famous for generations.
Remy Martin was founded in 1724 in the town of Cognac, and the house has held to a simple philosophy ever since: only Fine Champagne Cognac leaves its cellars, whether the bottle is its most accessible or its rarest.
1738 Accord Royal is built for everyday small celebrations, a Cognac with enough body to reward attention, without the weight that demands a special occasion.

Palate
The palate is soft like creamy caramel, spiced with baked spice and a hint of dark chocolate underneath.
Finish
The finish is medium-length and warm, where caramel and a faint trace of chocolate are the last things to remain.
