Plantation Barbados 5 Year is a Barbadian Rum matured for 5 years and bottled at 40%.

The rum matures in bourbon casks in Barbados' tropical climate before undergoing a short period in southwest France for a final polish, in line with Plantation/Planteray's signature double maturation. The result is an exceedingly smooth and approachable rum with a full, creamy character that has made it one of the brand's most popular releases.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Cinnamon sugar syrup, vanilla, pralines and baked fig in honey, complemented by creamy caramel, banana and a tropical fruit mix with a touch of rum ester.

Palate

Exceedingly smooth with plenty of creamy vanilla, hints of toasted marshmallow and vanilla wafers, winding into a long finish tinged with espresso and allspice, while the lightly sweet entry of butterscotch and caramel gives way to sharp orange peel and light baking spices.

Finish

Round and medium-bodied with liquorice-tinged molasses and lingering sweetness.
