The nose: Typical of Penderyn, it is very clean on the nose. Lots of tropical fruits like pineapple, banana and honeydew melon. Lemongrass and mint. A touch of nuts and a whiff of sweet white wine. There are some raisins and some creamy vanilla, which could be reminiscent of white chocolate. Not a very complex nose and you can smell that it's a relatively young whisky, but I think it suits the fresh and sweet style very well.

The taste: Sweet and creamy at the front of the tongue. Banana, fresh grapes, melon and vanilla. Almost like a fruit salad covered in vanilla cream. A little spicy and there is some citrus fruit. It gets a little peppery and sharp in the middle of the palette before drying out a little. There are a few nuts and some raisins at the end, but otherwise it's not so much noticeable in the Madeira casks.

Aftertaste: The finish is quite long with a dry feel. More sweet fruits and nuts along with some chocolate and caramel.
