The colour alone tells the story: nearly black, with an iridescent sheen that only appears after decades in dark cellars. Gourry de Chadeville's XO 400th Anniversary is extreme Cognac without additives, pure distillate and time.
Expert's Description
Gourry de Chadeville X.O. 400th Anniversary 1er Cru French Cognac is a Cognac from Grande Champagne, up to 35 years old, bottled at 40%.
Gourry de Chadeville, the world's oldest Cognac house founded in 1619, bottled this XO for the house's 400th anniversary in 2019. The blend is built from eaux-de-vie aged up to 35 years in Limousin oak, without caramel colouring or other additives common elsewhere in the industry.
The near-black, iridescent colour leaves no doubt about its age, and the style is uncannily concentrated, with dark nuances of plum, almond and mocha.
