Bruichladdich 21 Year Old Private Cask #1352 Bourbon Hogshead Islay Single Malt Whisky 58.1%

Bruichladdich 21 Year Old Private Cask #1352 is a fine example of the distillery’s unpeated, fruity and maritime style, elevated by more than two decades of maturation in a single bourbon hogshead. The cask was filled in 2003 and owned by German whisky enthusiast Hans‑G. Lund before being bottled after 21 years at full cask strength of 58.1%.

In the glass, the whisky appears light golden with a natural glow. The nose opens with classic bourbon cask notes: vanilla, citrus oil, fresh oak and a clean, grain‑rich sweetness. With a little time, it unfolds into ripe stone fruits, honey, light coconut and a discreet salty breeze from the Atlantic – a clear Bruichladdich signature.

The palate is intense and full-bodied, driven by the high strength yet still silky and balanced. Notes of vanilla pod, lemon curd, malt, white pepper and fresh oak combine with a creamy texture. The maritime minerality runs underneath and adds depth and character.

The finish is long, clean and elegant with lingering citrus, sweet malt and a dry, lightly spiced oak character that reveals the whisky’s age and quality.
