Blackadder is owned by Robin Tucek, one of the veterans of the whisky industry. Robin Tucek never compromises, we can present the authentic product. Single Malt Whisky bottled directly from cask to bottle without filtration. Everything is here with all the flavors, even particles and sediment. It's reminiscent of the distillery warehouses where the casks are stacked up. The method produces very flavorful, extra powerful and full-bodied malts. Enjoy Blackadder Raw Cask! When asked directly by Robin Tucek whether there was a patent on the idea of "Raw Cask", he denied this, but he did not think that others "dared" to filter as coarsely as Blackadder does. Normally you filter to "2", while Blackadder filters to "5". A side benefit is, of course, that you get approx. 1-2% more out of a cask, i.e. 2-4 bottles more than if you filter finer. The biggest problem with these bottlings is that they are single barrel bottlings, and therefore relatively few bottles per production - so if you come across the "favourite", it can be difficult to find more bottles afterwards. Blackadder regularly buys barrels for maturation - today they have about 200 barrels lying in various places in Scotland, waiting for the right time for bottling.
