Årø Vingård Rødvin 2018 is a light yet full-bodied Danish red wine with a beautiful deep-red colour. On the nose and palate, you’ll find intriguing notes of blackcurrant, blueberry and cherry stone, rounded off with a subtle touch of oak. The tannins are finely balanced, giving the wine a pleasant structure without feeling heavy.

The wine shows its best at 16–18°C and pairs perfectly with lighter grilled dishes, poultry and veal – but it also works wonderfully on its own as a relaxing glass after dinner. On Årø, there is a genuine passion for producing red wine, and although Danish red wine remains a small niche, this vintage demonstrates how well a light and fruity style can succeed in the Nordic climate.

The wine can be enjoyed now, but also has the potential to develop further over the next 1–3 years.
