Stauning Private Cask Rum West Indies Cask Finish is a Danish rye whisky where classic craftsmanship meets warm West Indian rum traditions. The whisky is made from 100% floor‑malted Danish rye and barley from local farms and produced according to Stauning’s grain‑to‑glass philosophy, where traditional methods and attention to detail shape the final character.

The whisky begins its maturation with 1.5 years in new American oak casks, adding structure, vanilla and spice. It is then transferred to a first‑fill West Indies rum cask for an additional 4.5 years. West Indian rum casks are known for their depth and tropical profile, and here they contribute notes of ripe fruit, warm spices, citrus and roasted nuts.

This long double maturation creates a whisky that is both spicy, fruity and smooth. You’ll find subtle layers of vanilla, cinnamon, apricot and ripe banana, beautifully balanced with the natural spice of the rye and the warm sweetness from the rum influence. The result is a Danish rye whisky with a clear tropical edge and plenty of personality.
