Only one column still in the world is still made of wood and still used to distil rum - this bottle comes from exactly that one.
Expert Description
RomDeLuxe Wild Series Rum #34 Diamond MEE is a Single Cask Rum from Diamond Distillery in Guyana, 20 years old, aged on ex-bourbon casks, bottled at 59.8% in a 150 cl magnum bottle.
The rum carries the mark MEE, produced on the Enmore EHP Coffey Still - the only column still in the world still made of wood and still used to distil rum. This release was distilled in February 2002 and bottled in October 2022 from cask number 14, giving 20 years of maturation. The bottle was originally presented in the Unicorn Vol 2 Tasting Kit and is bottled in only 27 copies, making it one of the rarer releases in RomDeLuxe's Wild Series.
Diamond Distillery in Guyana is known for keeping several historic column stills running, each with its own unique mark and character - MEE is just one of them.
