Clear as spring water and streaked with green, garden-fresh notes - that is the first impression O.P. Anderson Klar leaves in the glass. An organic tribute to Swedish aquavit tradition, made without cask ageing so every drop keeps its pure, direct character.

    The Expert's Description

O.P. Anderson Klar is an organic Swedish aquavit at 40% ABV, distilled from pure grain spirit.

The aquavit is spiced with the classic trio of caraway, anise and fennel, lifted by fresh dill and citrus peel. Unlike the house's other aquavits, Klar is not aged in oak casks but bottled straight away to keep its clear colour and fresh style. Behind the brand stands the Anderson family of Gothenburg, where Olof Peter Anderson laid the foundation as a pharmacist's apprentice before his son Carl August presented the recipe to the public in 1891 - today part of Anora Group.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

The nose is pure and spiced, with clear caraway and anise lifted by green streaks of dill, fennel and a touch of citrus.

    Palate

The palate is fresh and balanced, with clear notes of anise, caraway, citrus and dill, without the weight cask ageing would add.

    Finish

The finish is light and clean, with a final spiced note of fennel.
