Since 1992, Wilson & Morgan has nursed a very Italian fondness for Scotch whisky – and a particular knack for finding the casks that give the most character. This Glenlossie came out a deep mahogany colour long before it ever reached a glass.

Glenlossie 2008/2023 Wilson & Morgan 15 Year Old is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 52.1%.

Distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2023 by the Italian independent bottler Wilson & Morgan, from a refill cask finished for 16 months in a first-fill Pedro Ximenez cask, No. 2392, yielding 207 bottles. The deep mahogany colour alone hints at how much influence the sherry cask has had.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Dried fig, raisin and a rich sherry sweetness, backed by dark chocolate and a hint of roasted coffee.

Palate

Full-bodied and wine-toned, with syrupy sweetness, dates and a touch of oak spice. The PX cask gives a clear, almost dessert-like sweetness.

Finish

Long and warm, with lingering dried fruit and a faintly bitter chocolate note at the close.
