Clynelish 14 Year Old Coastal Single Highland Malt Whisky 46%

Clynelish 14 Year Old is a true classic from the north of Scotland – a whisky known for its elegant maritime character and its naturally waxy texture, which has made it a favourite among both enthusiasts and collectors. This single malt comes from the Clynelish Distillery on the coast of Sutherland, where sea air and Highland climate shape the whisky’s unique flavour profile.

Clynelish 14 Year Old offers a bright golden colour and an aroma filled with fresh citrus notes, sea salt, wax, vanilla, and a hint of spice. The palate is creamy and complex with flavours of ripe fruit, malt, honey, light smoke, and the signature “Clynelish waxiness” that makes the whisky both soft and vibrant on the tongue. The finish is long, dry, and elegant with maritime nuances and a gentle spicy warmth.

With its alcohol strength of 46%, Clynelish 14 Year Old delivers an intense yet balanced experience, making it ideal for enjoying neat or as part of a tasting where Highland and coastal whiskies are compared. It is also an excellent choice for whisky fans seeking an authentic Coastal Highland Malt with depth, freshness, and personality.

Clynelish 14 Year Old 70cl / 46% Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery BottlingClynelish is the successor to the now-silent Brora, built opposite the original distillery and producing a top-quality rich, smoky dram. One of the best entry-level proprietary bottlings available from any distillery. Founded in 1819, under the name Clynelish, the distillery was established by the Marquis of Stafford who, after marrying into the Sutherland family, became the first Duke of Sutherland. The The distillery was initially intended to take some proportion of local whisky supply away from the area's smuggling fraternity. After purchase in 1896 by James Ainslie & Heilbron, a Glasgow-based blending company, the distillery was rebuilt and still retains the floor maltings and kiln that were then installed. In 1967, a build commenced on a new distillery, also named Clynelish, located just across the road from the original Clynelish . The build was completed a year later and the former Clynelish distillery was renamed Brora (pronounced 'Broar-err') in 1969. The name derives from the Old Norse 'Bru'r aa' meaning 'the bridges river'.Brora was purchased in 1930 by Scottish Malt Distillers, who later became a subsidiary of Diageo. Closing in May of 1983, the buildings that made up the Brora distillery are now used by the new Clynelish distillery as a visitor center and warehouse. Clynelish remains active with a large capacity of 4.2m liters per annum thanks to a seven day working week.
