A French chemical engineer fell in love with Mexico and its agave – and created a tequila that lets the fresh, green flavour of the Jalisco highlands speak for itself.

    Expert Description

Calle 23 Blanco Tequila is a Mexican Blanco Tequila made from 100% agave, bottled at 40%.

Calle 23 is the work of Sophie Decobecq, a French chemical engineer who moved to Mexico in 1999 and began developing her own brand in 2003. The agave is grown in Los Altos de Jalisco, the highland region between the towns of Tepatitlán and Arandas, and Calle 23 is known for using an unusually high concentration of agave during fermentation, giving its tequilas a fresh, intense agave character. The Blanco rests briefly on stainless steel before bottling, preserving its raw, green agave flavour without any barrel influence.
