Whiskey Sour with Talisker

The perfect Whiskey drink with Talisker.

Ingredients

• 2 parts Talisker Whisky


• 6 parts Tonic Water


• Garnish - Lemon zest

Method

Fill a tall glass with ice. Add the whiskey and tonic to the glass and stir. Garnish with freshly ground black pepper.

Garnish - Lemon zest. (Use the traditional lemon peel twisted over the glass to release the bitter citrus oils of the peel)
Serve in a Riedel Glass

About Talisker

This cocktail is based on whiskey and most definitely Talisker Storm.
Talisker as you know, is located on the Isle of Skye and is the only distillery on the island. The idea behind Talisker Storm is to revive the style Talisker that existed when they started "rejuvenating" used wooden casks. Traditionally, Scotch whisky has always been aged in casks that have been used for other spirits or fortified wines, but once a cask has been reused a number of times, it is 'dead' and no longer gives off anything to the whisky.

It was therefore discovered that casks could be rejuvenated by scraping the inside clean and then 'toasting' the inside, leaving the cask to function as new. Talisker Storm is a blend of whiskies, some of which have been aged in these "rejuvenated" casks, others in used bourbon casks.
