Violets, dark plums and a tension that hasn't let go yet - Niepoort Vintage 2015 was born in a season critics call among the finest in recent memory, and it is still on its way to its peak.
Expert's Description
Niepoort Vintage 2015 is a Portuguese Vintage Port from the Douro Valley, bottled at 19.5%.
The wine is made from a traditional Douro field blend, fermented and briefly aged in oak vats before being bottled unfiltered, ready to keep developing in the bottle for many years to come.
Niepoort was founded in 1842 by the Dutch van der Niepoort family in Vila Nova de Gaia. Today the house is run by the fifth and sixth generations and enjoys international recognition for both classic Vintage Ports and more experimental Douro table wines.
2015 was broadly declared across the major Port houses and has been highlighted by several critics as one of the most elegant, yet powerful, vintages since the turn of the millennium.
