American whiskey is produced with a minimum of 51% corn, as it is a plentiful crop in the US. American whiskey production began in the northern states and was introduced to the US by Scottish and Irish immigrants. Later, production moved south to Kentucky and Tennessee, two states well-known today for their whiskey production. Bourbon is especially recognized as a product of Kentucky, while a brand like Jack Daniels is the most famous Tennessee whiskey. There are several types of American whiskey, of which these three types are the most common - all of which you can find here at Whisky.dk:

Signal Hill Whisky Premium Canadian Whisky is an unfiltered blend of 95% corn and 5% malted barley whiskies, matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, new white oak and Canadian whisky casks, bottled at 40%. The brand was developed in 2014 by a team with decades of combined experience from major international whisky brands and is blended and bottled in St. John's, Newfoundland — within sight of the historic Signal Hill, where Guglielmo Marconi received the world's first wireless transatlantic message in 1901.

Sonoma County Rye California is an American rye whiskey, bottled at 48%, from Sonoma Distilling Company. The distillery was founded in 2010 by Adam Spiegel, who grew up in San Francisco and discovered his passion for spirits in 2008 while helping a distiller friend in Santa Rosa. The rye whiskey is double distilled in handmade copper pot stills, made from a mash of 80% unmalted Californian and Canadian rye and 20% malted rye from the UK, giving it a distinctly spicy backbone with nutty and fruity overtones. The whiskey is aged for at least 15 months in smaller casks.

The Wiseman American Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is an American bourbon from Kentucky Owl, bottled at 45.4%. The Kentucky Owl brand was founded by Charles Mortimer Dedman in 1879 and was among the many Bardstown distilleries shuttered for good by Prohibition. The brand lay dormant until a descendant revived it in 2014, in the middle of the modern bourbon boom, quickly gaining a reputation for one-off, exclusive releases. Kentucky Owl was acquired by Stoli in 2017 and is today one of Bardstown Bourbon Company's contract production customers. The Wiseman launched in 2021 as Kentucky Owl's first regularly available bourbon, created by John Rhea of Four Roses fame, blending Kentucky Owl's own 4-year-old wheated and high-rye bourbons with sourced bourbons aged 5.5 and 8.5 years.

Floor-malted and double distilled in-house. Spelt and rye give a markedly different flavour picture than a traditional barley single malt – more spiced, more earthy and with a complexity that surprises.
Spelt is an ancient grain with roots in north European agricultural tradition. In whisky it adds a nutty and slightly sweet dimension that complements the rye's natural spiciness.

The whiskey's name and signature water come from the Widow Jane Mine in Rosendale, New York, a historic limestone mine whose cement was used to build both the Brooklyn Bridge and the base of the Statue of Liberty. The mine was named after Jane, wife of the tough mine owner A.J. Snyder, who was beloved by the local community for her kindness. Rosendale limestone contains a higher mineral content than that typically found in Kentucky, and the distillery uses this naturally filtered spring water to proof down each batch.
