Are you, like us at Whisky.dk, absolutely crazy about rum? Then this page is just for you. On this page you can find a universe of rum. We have a great passion for rum and we really want to share it with you.

Rum is made from cane sugar and water. This mixture is fermented to form a liquid containing 8-10% alcohol. It is then distilled to an alcohol percentage of up to 90% and then stored on oak barrels. Once the rum has been stored, it is diluted to 40-43% alcohol and filled into bottles.

Below you can see our large selection of rum. We have many different brands and variants. By clicking on the categories below, you see different kinds of rum variants.

  • Bottle of Black Tears Super Dry Cuba white rum
    Item no.: 059763-615-683

A dark name for an entirely clear rum - Black Tears Super Dry goes the opposite way from the brand's darker releases and stays light and dry.

    Expert Description

Black Tears Super Dry is a white Cuba Rum, bottled at 40%.

Super Dry is Black Tears' clear, dry release, markedly different from the brand's better-known dark and spiced rums. The style is intended as a versatile, clean white rum suited to cocktails where a light, dry base is preferred over a sweeter, darker character. Black Tears is a Cuban brand that has built its name around more characterful, dark rum releases, making Super Dry a deliberate contrast in the range.

Cuba is known for a lighter, drier rum style compared to many of the heavier Caribbean traditions, and Super Dry is a clear example of this Cuban approach.

  • Black Tot 2024 Master Blenders Reserve Rum bottle
    Item no.: 22227865578-55

For the fifth annual release, master blender Oliver Chilton has for the first time built the blend around a single country, Barbados, seasoned with rum from Trinidad, Jamaica and Guyana plus drops of original pre-1970 navy rum.

    Expert Description

Black Tot 2024 Master Blenders Reserve is a Caribbean Rum, a blend dominated by Barbados rum with contributions from Trinidad, Jamaica and Guyana, bottled at 54.5%.

The 2024 release is the fifth in Black Tot's annual Master Blender's Reserve series and the first to be built around the character of a single country. Here, Bajan rum makes up 60% of the blend to highlight Barbados' fruity, sweet and honeyed style, while rum from Trinidad, Jamaica and Guyana adds depth. The blend is married with a perpetual reserve and a hand-selected collection of original navy rum flagons from pre-1970 bottles, aged in a combination of American and European oak and bottled un-chill filtered with no added sugar.

The result is a vibrant, full-bodied rum, where thick honey meets toasted vanilla and dried mango.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Full-bodied, fruity and spicy with pineapple, mint, strawberry, lime and chilli, as well as coconut.

    Palate

Thick Manuka honey, toasted vanilla sticks and dried mango against sweet citrus.

  • Black Tot Finest Caribbean Rum 70 cl 46.2%
    Item no.: 22227865479-1106-1972446

On 31 July 1970, British sailors received their last daily ration of rum. Some wore black armbands. Others saved their tot in a pocket instead of drinking it. A tradition nearly 300 years old stopped that day, and the name Black Tot comes from it.

    Expert description

Black Tot Finest Caribbean Rum is a Blended Caribbean Rum aged in oak casks and bottled at 46.2%.

It is the house's standard bottling and the bottle that best shows what Black Tot wants to do with rum. The blend builds on distillates from four Caribbean countries, and each country plays a clear role. Barbados lays down the soft and honeyed base. Trinidad gives a lighter column-distilled tone with stone fruit and vanilla. Guyana pulls in body and darkness with tonka bean, chocolate and liquorice. Jamaica contributes its characteristic funk from pot still, and even in a small proportion it can be clearly felt.

The rum is matured 100% tropically, meaning in the Caribbean and not in a cool European warehouse. The heat means the cask works significantly faster, and a young rum gains depth it would otherwise take many more years to acquire. No sugar has been added and no flavourings, and it is not chill-filtered. The 46.2% bottling strength is not accidental - it sits close to the strength of the navy's rum, and it holds the flavour together when ice or lime enters the glass.

The blend is the work of Black Tot's Head Blender Oliver Chilton. It has, among other things, taken Gold at The Spirits Business Rum & Cachaça Masters in 2026 and Double Gold at San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2024.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Ripe pineapple and molasses first, then vanilla and a hint of toasted cinnamon. Behind it lies something darker and heavier - tonka bean and a touch of liquorice from the Guyana component.

    Palate

Full-bodied and slightly oily. Vanilla fudge, brown sugar and dried fruit, gradually turning into cocoa and dark syrup. The Jamaica funk shows up in the middle as a sharp, almost banana-like edge that keeps the sweetness in check.

    Finish

Long and warm. Cinnamon, coffee bean and a dry, lightly bitter oak note that lingers long after the last sip.

    Expert Description

Bombarda Culverin is a Blended Dark Caribbean Rum, 5-8 years old, aged on bourbon and white oak casks, bottled at 43%.

Bombarda's award-winning Lost Barrel Culverin Blend is a dark rum blend of three countries of origin - Barbados, the Dominican Republic and Panama. Named after the voodoo priest who lit the spark for Haiti's fight for freedom in 1791, this rum combines fresh sugar cane juice with local bark and botanical herbs in a vivid, rustic style.

    Expert Description

Boukman Haiti Botanical Rum is a Haiti Botanical Spirit Drink in "clairin trempé" style, infused with bark, citrus peel and botanical herbs, bottled at 45%.

The rum starts from clairin, Haiti's raw, unaged sugar cane distillate, which is then infused with bark, citrus peel and a range of local botanical herbs using the traditional "trempé" method. The name Boukman honours Dutty Boukman, the voodoo priest who led the ceremony that sparked the Haitian Revolution. Trinidad's tropical climate does nothing by halves. Bristol Classic has captured that intensity in a bottle that tastes more of bourbon oak than many expect from Caribbean rum.

    Expert description

Bristol Classic Caribbean Collection Trinidad is a Rum from Trinidad, column distilled from molasses and matured for an average of 4 years in ex-bourbon casks, bottled at 40%.

The rum is released by the English bottler Bristol Classic Rum, known for sourcing single-distillery rum from across the Caribbean and releasing it under its Caribbean Collection series. Mauritius is better known for its sugarcane fields than its rum exports. This bottle shows why that should change.

    Expert description

Bristol Classic Finest Mauritius Cane Juice Rhum is a Rhum Agricole from Mauritius, distilled from fresh sugarcane juice and bottled unaged at 43%.

The rum is distilled at La Bourdonnais Estate on the north of Mauritius and released by the English bottler Bristol Classic Rum, known for sourcing single-distillery rum from around the world. Because it is distilled from fresh sugarcane juice rather than molasses and remains unaged, the style is vivid and clean, with a vegetal character sitting somewhere between classic agricole rum and smoky mezcal, rather than the more fruity, aromatic agricole rums often found from the Caribbean.

    Tasting notes

  • Miniature bottle British Royal Navy Imperial Rum with certificate
    Item no.: 059763-615-9

A numbered certificate accompanies this small bottle - proof that the contents come from one of the original gallon bottles the British Navy used for sailors' daily rum ration.

    Expert description

British Royal Navy Miniature with Certificate is a dark Imperial Rum of unknown distillery, bottled at 54% in a small 5 cl collector's bottle with an accompanying certificate of authenticity.

The rum comes from one of the original "One Imperial Gallon" bottles carried aboard British Navy ships for distributing the daily "tot of rum". When the tradition was abolished in 1970, remaining stocks were recalled, and some of the rare gallon bottles only resurfaced many years later. To make the contents available to collectors, part of the rum has been bottled into small 5 cl bottles, each with a numbered certificate documenting its origin.

Only 70 of these miniature bottles with certificate have been produced, making each one a tangible piece of British Naval rum history - an era when navy strength sat well above ordinary rum, and where the very term "over proof" arose as a test of whether the rum could ignite gunpowder.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Dark, molasses-heavy and with a distinct hint of age.

    Palate

    Finish

    Long, warm and lingering.

    Expert Description

Burning Barn Smoked Rum is a smoked Rum, 3-year-old Demerara-based, bottled at 40%.

Burning Barn is based on a fruit farm and uses wood from their own retired apple trees to cold-smoke a 3-year-old, fruity Demerara rum. • Cane Island Barbados Single Island Blends rum bottle
    Item no.: 22227865479-1106-197279969

Unlike its sister releases from Jamaica and Trinidad, this Barbados edition comes from a single, renowned distillery, giving it a more uniform, classic profile.

    Expert Description

Cane Island Barbados Single Island Blends is a Barbados Rum, a blend from Foursquare Distillery assembled by Cane Island, aged up to 8 years in the tropical climate and bottled at 40%.

Where Cane Island's other Single Island releases gather rum from several distilleries on the same island, this Barbados edition comes exclusively from Foursquare, the island's best-known distillery, run by Richard Seale. Barbados is considered by many to be the birthplace of rum, and the style here balances between pot and column distillate, a combination typical of the island's tradition.

The result is a well-balanced, dry-to-medium-sweet rum with a classic Barbados character of caramel and spiced oak fullness.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Caramel, toasted wood and a light nutty sweetness, with a hint of dried apricot.

    Palate

    Expert Description

Cane Island Jamaica Single Island Blended is a Jamaica Rum, a blend from several Jamaican distilleries assembled by Cane Island, aged in the tropical climate and bottled at 40%.

The rum is a "Single Island Blend", meaning it consists exclusively of rum from different distilleries in Jamaica, unlike the house's broader Caribbean blends. The Cane Island brand is owned by Amsterdam-based Infinity Spirits and focuses on highlighting the distinctive style of each individual island in their range.

    Expert Description

Cane Island Panama Single Island is a Single Island Blended Rum from Panama, aged 8 years in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 40%.

This bottling from Cane Island is a blend of rums from various distilleries in Panama, made from molasses and column distilled. After Jamaica's funky ester richness, Cane Island turns its attention to Trinidad, home to some of the Caribbean's most refined column-distilled rums.

    Expert Description

Cane Island Trinidad Single Island Blends is a Trinidad Rum, a blend from several Trinidadian distilleries assembled by Cane Island, aged 3 to 5 years in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 40%.

As with the house's other "Single Island" releases, Cane Island sources rum exclusively from distilleries on one specific island, here Trinidad, rather than blending across the region. Trinidad's rum tradition is characterised by light, clean column distillates, a style that gives the rum a softer, more elegant character than its sister product from Jamaica.

The result is a round, lightly spiced rum, where the short to medium ageing in ex-bourbon casks adds a touch of vanilla without overpowering the light distillate character.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Light vanilla, toasted almond and a hint of dried citrus peel.

Cargo Cult Dry Spiced is a spiced Rum from Australia, matured in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 38.5%.

The rum combines matured rum from the South Pacific - from the Ramu River Valley in Papua New Guinea and from Fiji - spiced with cardamom, clove, cinnamon, ginger and vanilla. Because Australia's import and production rules are strict, the rum is blended and spiced on a small vineyard in Orange, New South Wales, then matured for up to three years in ex-bourbon casks under tropical heat.

It is precisely the absence of added sugar that sets Dry Spiced apart from many other spiced rum styles - the spices build the flavour without a layer of sweetness masking the rum's own character.

The Caroni distillery in Trinidad closed over 20 years ago, but the last casks from its heavy, cult-status production still surface at independent bottlers like Valinch & Mallet.

    Expert Description

Caroni 1997/2022 Valinch & Mallet 24 Year Traditional is a Trinidad Rum from a single cask, aged for 24 years and bottled at 57.9%.

The rum comes from the Caroni distillery, founded in 1923 on the site of an old sugar factory in Trinidad, with both column and pot still equipment, which in its day supplied heavy, powerful rum to the British navy. The Trinidad government sold the distillery to Angostura in 2001, and production ceased the following year. In 2004, Italian rum expert Luca Gargano discovered a warehouse full of forgotten casks at the abandoned distillery, sparking what many collectors now call Caronimania. This cask, number 887, was selected by Valinch & Mallet and yielded a total of 245 bottles. The rum was distilled in 1997 and aged for 24 years before being bottled in 2022.

The result is a dark, earthy rum with the characteristic "heavy", almost rubbery depth that has become Caroni's hallmark among collectors worldwide.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Spiced rubber, wet earth and a hint of dark liquorice.

    Did You Know?

The phenomenon known as Caronimania began after Italian rum pioneer Luca Gargano discovered an abandoned warehouse full of forgotten casks at the closed distillery in 2004, since making Caroni one of the most hunted rum labels of all.

    Expert Description

Caroni 1997/2023 Adelphi Limited is a Single Cask Trinidad Rum, 25 years old, aged on a used hogshead cask, bottled at 56.8%.

The rum was distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2023 as part of the Adelphi Limited series, part of the Scottish independent bottler Adelphi's selection of rare single cask releases. It is aged on a refill hogshead cask number 25 and is limited to just 204 bottles worldwide. The rum is non-chill filtered, preserving the full character of the Caroni distillate.

The Caroni distillery in Trinidad closed permanently in 2003, making all remaining Caroni casks an irreplaceable, dwindling resource - one of the most sought-after categories among rum collectors worldwide.
