The rum is distilled on a 1930s Scottish column still at Hacienda Agricola in Chiclayo, where molasses from the Pomalca sugar mill forms the base. The Ron Millonario brand was founded in 1950 and got its name because only the wealthiest could afford to taste it at the time. The rum matures using the solera method on American and Slavonian oak, where distillates of different ages are continuously blended to achieve a consistent, complex profile.
