  • The English Distillery Co whisky bottle bottled by Stirk Brothers
    Item no.: 059763-615-880

A decade before English whisky was widely known abroad, The English Distillery Co in Norfolk filled its first cask. This single cask, bottled by Stirk Brothers, is one of the rare survivors from the distillery's earliest years — a time when the whole English whisky project was still an experiment.

    Expert's Description

The English Distillery Co 10 Year Old Stirk Brothers is a Single Malt English Whisky matured in an ex-bourbon cask and bottled at 50%.

The distillery — known today as The English Distillery Co, formerly St George's Distillery — opened in 2006 as the first newly built English whisky distillery in over a hundred years. This bottling comes from cask number 179, distilled in 2011 and later selected by independent bottler Stirk Brothers, who drew 254 bottles straight from the cask without mingling them with any other.

Stirk Brothers works on a small scale, hunting for casks with clear character rather than volume, which makes their selection a regular stop for collectors looking for alternatives to the big, familiar names.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

The nose offers vanilla custard and toasted oak, backed by green apple and a touch of cereal.

    Palate

On the palate the whisky turns rich, with caramel, honey biscuit and a light nutty sweetness, while the ex-bourbon cask lends a dry, woody undertone.

    Finish

The finish is long and spiced, with black pepper and a faintly bitter edge of dark chocolate.

  • The GlenAllachie 1990 35 Year Old by Billy Walker
    Item no.: 22244-987455

Some bottles are a whisky. This one is a piece of distillery history, wrapped in handcrafted woodwork and built around four cask types, one of which is rare enough that it barely exists in any other Scotch distillery's stock. The GlenAllachie 1990 Billy Walker spent 35 years on its way to the bottle, and it shows in every single measure.

    Expert's description

The GlenAllachie 1990 Billy Walker is a 35 year old Single Speyside Malt Scotch Whisky, matured across four different cask types and bottled at cask strength of 50.2%.

The name GlenAllachie derives from the Gaelic for "valley of the rocks," and this release is one of the most ambitious and luxurious the distillery has ever put its name to. The whisky spent its 35 years split across Mizunara virgin oak, American virgin oak, Oloroso Sherry and Pedro Ximénez Sherry - a combination that demands both patience and a sharp sense of when each individual cask has given its best.

The Mizunara oak comes from trees around 200 years old and is used extremely rarely in Scotch whisky production, owing to its scarcity and the particular demands the wood places during processing. Combined with two sherry casks and American virgin oak, the result is a whisky with an intense, rich mahogany colour and a depth that matches its age in full.

The whisky is both non-chill filtered and free of added colour, presented in its most original form.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Mocha and crystallised cinnamon meet treacle tart, cocoa and toasted hazelnuts, with pineapple, ginger and heather honey lingering in the background.

    Palate

Cocoa and baking spice unfold alongside chocolate-coated raisins, coconut and brandied fruits, underpinned by sandalwood and vanilla.

    Finish

Long and rich, with dried red fruits and a lingering sweetness of honeycomb that stays with you long after the last measure.

    Investment potential

High. With 35 years behind it, an extremely rare Mizunara maturation and a handcrafted wooden box, this is the distillery's most ambitious bottling - a whisky that speaks directly to the serious collector rather than everyday drinking.

    Did you know?

The bottle arrives in a bespoke, handcrafted wooden box inspired by the character of Mizunara wood and traditional Japanese Kumiko woodworking. The box is decorated with four different geometric patterns, one for each of the four cask types the whisky was matured in - a craft that matches the whisky's own complexity.

  • The Jane Street Collection The Original One Woodrows of Edinburgh Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 48.5%
    Item no.: 222233-8551

The Jane Street Collection The Original One Woodrows of Edinburgh Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 48.5%

The Original One from The Jane Street Collection is a Highland single malt in which Woodrow’s of Edinburgh presents a whisky focused on purity, balance and the natural character of the spirit. While other releases in the series explore specific cask types in depth, The Original One is created as an honest and unadorned expression of the Highland style at its core: fruit, malt, gentle spice and a subtle influence from oak.

The whisky opens with a bright and inviting aroma of green apples, pear and citrus supported by a soft malt note. Beneath the fresh fruit lies a smooth touch of vanilla and a hint of honey, adding warmth and depth without overshadowing the lighter elements. It is a clean and well‑balanced nose that clearly reflects Woodrow’s intention to let the spirit itself take centre stage.

On the palate, the whisky is soft, rounded and slightly oily. The fruit from the nose continues with apple, pear and a touch of peach, while the malt provides structure and body. The oak contributes a discreet spicy edge and a light vanilla sweetness that ties the flavours together. The 48.5% ABV gives the whisky energy and lift without overpowering the delicate nuances, enhancing the freshness and giving the flavour a clear and precise expression.

The finish is medium‑long and elegant, with notes of malt, citrus and a gentle dryness from the oak. It leaves an impression of purity and finesse, and the lingering fruitiness makes it exceptionally easy to enjoy.

    Item no.: 222233-8550

The Jane Street Collection The Sherried One Woodrows of Edinburgh Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky 48.5%

The Sherried One from The Jane Street Collection, bottled by Woodrow’s of Edinburgh at 48.5%, is a single malt that fully lives up to its name. This is a whisky shaped by deep, dark sherry‑cask influence, rich in fruit and warmth, yet still balanced by a clean malt core. Woodrow’s is known for small, carefully selected batches, and this release is a clear example of their philosophy: intensity, authenticity and an uncompromising focus on cask quality.

The aroma immediately reveals the sherry heritage. Heavy notes of raisins, dark fruits, prunes and figs mingle with warm spices, cocoa and a gentle nutty depth. A subtle vinous layer adds richness and a classic sherried warmth, while a soft malt note beneath it all keeps the profile grounded and harmonious.

On the palate, the whisky is full‑bodied and silky, dominated by dried fruits, caramel, dark chocolate and a hint of espresso. The tannins from the sherry cask provide structure, while natural malt sweetness ties the flavours together. There is impressive depth, with touches of cinnamon and nutmeg emerging alongside a lightly toasted note that adds further complexity. The 48.5% ABV is well integrated, offering warmth and weight without sharpness.

The finish is long, dark and lingering. Dried fruits return alongside cocoa, oak and a bittersweet note reminiscent of dark chocolate and roasted nuts. It is a finish that stays with you and invites another sip.

The Sherried One is a whisky for those who appreciate classic sherry‑cask maturation in its richest form. It is intense without being overwhelming, complex without being demanding, and delivers a deeply satisfying experience rooted in craftsmanship. A strong representative of Woodrow’s style and an excellent choice for anyone seeking a refined sherry‑driven single malt.
