  • Bottle of The Gauldrons Sherry Cask from Douglas Laing in Campbeltown
    Item no.: 22227865479-1106-197280262

Sherry and salt is a classic pairing in Campbeltown, and The Gauldrons Sherry Cask shows exactly why that combination still works - simple, well balanced and true to the region's roots.

    Expert Description

The Gauldrons Sherry Cask is a Campbeltown Blended Malt Scotch Whisky composed of single malt from the region's distilleries, matured in Spanish sherry casks and bottled at 46.2%.

As part of Douglas Laing's The Gauldrons range, this edition gathers the best of Campbeltown's distilleries into a blended malt with a clear sherry character. The sherry casks bring a spiced, rounded sweetness, well balanced against the region's signature smoky, salty backbone.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Sherry-sweet raisin and toasted nuts meet a light smoke note and a hint of salinity.

    Palate

Round and spiced, with dark fruit and a soft smoke kept in balance by the sherry sweetness.

  • The GlenAllachie 1990 35 Year Old by Billy Walker
    Item no.: 22244-987455

Some bottles are a whisky. This one is a piece of distillery history, wrapped in handcrafted woodwork and built around four cask types, one of which is rare enough that it barely exists in any other Scotch distillery's stock. The GlenAllachie 1990 Billy Walker spent 35 years on its way to the bottle, and it shows in every single measure.

    Expert's description

The GlenAllachie 1990 Billy Walker is a 35 year old Single Speyside Malt Scotch Whisky, matured across four different cask types and bottled at cask strength of 50.2%.

The name GlenAllachie derives from the Gaelic for "valley of the rocks," and this release is one of the most ambitious and luxurious the distillery has ever put its name to. The whisky spent its 35 years split across Mizunara virgin oak, American virgin oak, Oloroso Sherry and Pedro Ximénez Sherry - a combination that demands both patience and a sharp sense of when each individual cask has given its best.

The Mizunara oak comes from trees around 200 years old and is used extremely rarely in Scotch whisky production, owing to its scarcity and the particular demands the wood places during processing. Combined with two sherry casks and American virgin oak, the result is a whisky with an intense, rich mahogany colour and a depth that matches its age in full.

The whisky is both non-chill filtered and free of added colour, presented in its most original form.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Mocha and crystallised cinnamon meet treacle tart, cocoa and toasted hazelnuts, with pineapple, ginger and heather honey lingering in the background.

    Palate

Cocoa and baking spice unfold alongside chocolate-coated raisins, coconut and brandied fruits, underpinned by sandalwood and vanilla.

    Finish

Long and rich, with dried red fruits and a lingering sweetness of honeycomb that stays with you long after the last measure.

    Natural colour: Yes

    Flavour profile

    Mocha · Cinnamon · Cocoa · Hazelnut · Honeycomb

    Investment potential

High. With 35 years behind it, an extremely rare Mizunara maturation and a handcrafted wooden box, this is the distillery's most ambitious bottling - a whisky that speaks directly to the serious collector rather than everyday drinking.

    Did you know?

The bottle arrives in a bespoke, handcrafted wooden box inspired by the character of Mizunara wood and traditional Japanese Kumiko woodworking. The box is decorated with four different geometric patterns, one for each of the four cask types the whisky was matured in - a craft that matches the whisky's own complexity.

    Item no.: 059763-615-184

Two whisky cultures, one glass. The Glover by Adelphi tells the story of Scotland and Japan through malt, fire and time, named after a Scotsman who helped open Japan to the world more than 150 years ago.

    Expert description

The Glover by Adelphi 6 Years is a Fusion of Japanese and Scotch Malt Whisky, bottled at full cask strength of 57.6% ABV by independent whisky merchant Adelphi in collaboration with Fusion Whisky.

The series is named after Thomas Blake Glover, a Scottish businessman who played a central role in Japan's industrial opening to the West in the 19th century and is still celebrated in the country today. The Glover range bridges the two whisky cultures by uniting Scotch malt whisky with rare Japanese malt whiskies in a single bottle.

This 6-year-old expression combines malt whisky from Scottish distilleries with sought-after Japanese spirit, creating a whisky that spans two traditions without sacrificing the character of either.

The release is limited to 460 bottles, making it a rare opportunity to taste this crossover between two whisky worlds.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Ripe pears and a light smoky umami meet honey and a delicate floral sweetness.

    Item no.: 22227865480-67093-0207

A honeycomb on the label, a hint of honey in the glass. The Hive is Wemyss Malts' sweet tribute to everything a Blended Malt can be when the family behind the bottle thinks more like wine merchants than traditional whisky blenders.

    Expert description

The Hive Small Batch is a Blended Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 46% ABV by Wemyss Malts, assembled from carefully selected casks sourced from several Scottish distilleries.

The Wemyss family, whose name derives from the Gaelic word for "caves," has a background in wine merchanting and approaches whisky the way a negociant approaches wine: by seeking out and selecting the finest casks rather than focusing on a single distillery profile. The Hive is named for its character rather than its origin, and the bee on the label reflects that sweet, honeyed style.

This Small Batch release brings together a smaller number of carefully chosen casks, ensuring a consistent yet still hand-crafted character from batch to batch.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Bright and inviting, with acacia honey, crisp apples and a touch of vanilla.

    Expert description

The Hive is a Blended Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 46% ABV by Wemyss Malts, assembled from selected casks sourced from several Scottish distilleries.

Wemyss Malts runs its business on a philosophy borrowed from the wine trade: the family acts as a negociant, seeking out the finest single casks from across Scotland, which are then tasted and selected by a nosing panel chaired by whisky writer Charlie Maclean. The casks are not named after the distillery but after their characteristic flavour profile, which is how The Hive name became synonymous with a soft, honeyed style.

This "Old version" represents an earlier chapter in The Hive's history, carrying a label design different from what is found on today's shelves.

    Tasting notes

    Expert description

The Original One from The Jane Street Collection is a Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 48.5% ABV by independent bottler Woodrow's of Edinburgh.

Woodrow's of Edinburgh, founded in 2020 by brothers Mark and Chris Watt in Leith, works from a philosophy of transparency and flavour-led releases. The Jane Street Collection is built around clear sensory themes, and The Original One is the collection's most straightforward expression: an honest picture of Highland style without additional cask finishing.

The whisky is matured in bourbon casks, allowing the spirit's own fruitiness and malt character to shine rather than heavy cask influence.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Green apples and pear meet a mild malt profile, lifted by soft vanilla and a touch of honey.

    Palate

Soft and slightly oily, with apple, pear and a hint of peach, while the malt provides structure and a subtle spiced edge.

    Finish

Medium-length and clean, with notes of malt, citrus and a light dryness from the oak.

Dark fruit, deep sherry and a whisky unafraid to show its strength. The Sherried One is Woodrow's of Edinburgh's tribute to the classic sherry cask, cultivated to its full potential without losing its balance.

    Expert description

The Sherried One from The Jane Street Collection is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 48.5% ABV by independent bottler Woodrow's of Edinburgh.

Where The Original One represents the collection's clean baseline, The Sherried One explores the opposite extreme: the deep, dark and fruit-laden character of the sherry cask. Woodrow's is known for working with small, carefully selected batches, and this release is a clear example of that approach, with cask quality at its core.

The whisky is matured in sherry casks, which have contributed both colour and a deep concentration of dried fruit and spice to the finished spirit.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Raisins, prunes and figs mingle with warm spices, cocoa and a light nutty depth.

    Palate

    Expert description

The Smokey One from The Jane Street Collection is an Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 48.5% ABV by independent bottler Woodrow's of Edinburgh.

The whisky comes from an undisclosed Islay distillery, chosen for its ability to deliver the classic combination of sea salt, peat smoke and deep malt richness. The series is built around clear sensory themes, and The Smokey One is the collection's most uncompromising expression, placing peat smoke at its centre without sacrificing balance or complexity.

Woodrow's of Edinburgh works as an independent bottler and is known for choosing casks that express both the distillery's DNA and their own philosophy of pure, honest, unadulterated whisky.

  • The Legendary Blackadder Raw Cask Single Malt Whisky
    Item no.: 059763-615-1091

A legend is rarely written in full filtration. The Legendary is Blackadder's answer to how whisky tasted before it was polished to perfection, taken straight from the cask with everything that entails.

Please note: this whisky is part of Blackadder's Raw Cask series and is deliberately bottled with a small amount of natural cask sediment at the bottom of the bottle, proof that the whisky is only minimally filtered.

    Expert description

The Legendary 2015/2023 is a 7-year-old Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Blackadder's Raw Cask series, bottled at full cask strength of 59.2% ABV.

The whisky was distilled on 23 June 2015 and bottled in January 2023, from a single cask, Cask No. 2023-05, a medium toasted Fine Grain French Oak cask. The French oak has given the whisky a distinctly spiced, lightly sweet character that sets it apart from the more common American or European oak.

The Raw Cask series is Blackadder's most unfiltered release: the whisky is neither chill-filtered nor mechanically filtered, and the bottle retains natural oils and fats from the cask to ensure the most natural tasting experience possible.

Only 615 bottles exist of this particular single cask release.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Toasted French oak and warm spice meet a light sweetness of honey and ripe apples.

    Palate

Robust and well-balanced with spiced oak, caramel and a full malt core, carried by the high strength.

    Finish

  • The London Distillery English Rye Whiskey LV-1767 bottle
    Item no.: 22227865458-8850

Under a railway arch in Bermondsey, rye whiskey was distilled in London for the first time in over a hundred years. LV-1767 is the result: a small, hand-counted run of bottles named after a distilling dream from 1767 that never quite happened - until now.

    Expert's Description

The London Distillery English Rye Whiskey LV-1767 Edition is an English rye whiskey matured in English oak casks and bottled at 54.3% ABV.

The name LV-1767 refers to the Lea Valley Distillery, founded in 1767 and closed in 1903 - until then the last place in London where whisky was distilled. When The London Distillery Company bottled its first rye whiskey in 2018, it marked the first time in more than a hundred years that London could again claim a finished whiskey of its own. The rye was double distilled and filled into new English oak casks for four years, from 2014 to 2018.

Only 251 bottles of this first release exist, each one individually numbered. The distillery, based in a railway arch on Druid Street in Bermondsey, went into administration in 2020 but was revived under new ownership in 2025 - making early releases like this one a small, closed chapter in English whiskey history.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Dark chocolate and roasted coffee meet a spiced sweetness of cinnamon, stewed peaches and a touch of beeswax.

    Palate

Full-bodied and spicy, with rye's characteristic peppery bite carried by the same cinnamon and stone-fruit sweetness found on the nose.

    Finish

Long and dry, with white pepper, dark cherry and a late hint of macadamia nut.

    Investment Potential

Medium. Only 251 numbered bottles from the distillery's very first release, and the distillery itself stood idle for years after going into administration before finding new owners. That combination of low bottle count and an interrupted production history makes this an interesting bottle for collectors of English whisky.

    Did You Know?

The rye for LV-1767 was double distilled rather than single distilled, unlike most American rye whiskeys - a method borrowed from Scotch and Irish tradition that yields a cleaner, more fruit-driven spirit.

    Item no.: 22227865480-67093-0184

A lighthouse cuts through fog and darkness, night after night, year after year. The Observatory is named for Scotland's many coastal lighthouses and celebrates that same patient endurance in its own long maturation.

    Expert description

The Observatory 20 Years is a Single Grain Scotch Whisky bottled at 40% ABV from the Signature Series, distilled at the Macduff distillery, also known for producing the Single Malt whisky Glen Deveron.

The lighthouse on the box is the series' recurring symbol, referencing the many lighthouses that line Scotland's coastline and have guided sailors safely to harbour for centuries. The series was created by master blender Stephanie Macleod, one of the industry's few female master blenders.

The whisky has matured for 20 years in a combination of used sherry casks and Virgin Oak, a pairing that gives this grain whisky an unusual depth and complexity more often associated with single malt than single grain.

The result is an unusually soft mouthfeel with pronounced sherry sweetness, vanilla and dark chocolate, setting it apart from the lighter, more neutral style many associate with grain whisky.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Sweet sherry and toasted vanilla meet fresh summer berries and a touch of citrus.

    Palate

Mouth-filling and soft, with ripe grapes, vanilla and cane sugar sweetness.

    Finish

    Investment potential

A 20-year-old Single Grain from a named source distillery is relatively rare on the market, since most grain whiskies are bottled far younger, giving The Observatory an interesting position for collectors with an interest in the grain category.

    Did you know?

Single Grain whisky differs from Single Malt in that it is distilled from grains other than exclusively malted barley, often wheat or corn, typically on a continuous column still rather than traditional pot stills, giving a lighter, more neutral base character that here has been transformed by 20 years of cask maturation.

Two landscapes, one Scottish and one Swedish, meet in a single glass. The Sandebud is Adelphi's own experiment: a blended malt where a spirit from their own Ardnamurchan distillery marries a spirit from Sweden's High Coast.

    The Expert's Description

The Sandebud by Adelphi is a Blended Malt Whisky combining Ardnamurchan and High Coast, bottled at 58.9%.

Adelphi owns the Ardnamurchan distillery, the westernmost distillery on the Scottish mainland, and with The Sandebud has paired a spirit from there with a spirit from Sweden's High Coast. The result is an unusual fusion that bridges two landscapes and two distilling traditions in one bottle.

The whisky is neither chill-filtered nor coloured, and with 1,136 bottles it is the most accessible of Adelphi's special series, without compromising the cask-strength intensity the bottler is known for.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

A combination of freshly cut oak and a hint of smoke, hinting at the two spirits' different origins.

    Item no.: 22227865475-8267

A bar in New York, a glass created for the occasion, and a story that grew too good to tell only once. The Story of The Spaniard is Compass Box's tribute to Spanish cask tradition, told by John Glaser himself.

    Expert description

The Story of The Spaniard is a Blended Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 43% ABV by independent whisky merchant Compass Box, founded by American John Glaser.

The whisky originates from a bespoke bottling Compass Box once created for a cocktail bar named The Spaniard in New York. John Glaser and his team later decided to explore the sherry-influenced style further and make it a permanent part of the range under the name The Story of The Spaniard, first released in 2018.

The whisky is a blend of Highland and Speyside malt whisky, of which a significant portion, around 48%, is matured in used sherry casks, while a further 25% has aged in casks that previously held Spanish red wine. The rest of the blend contributes lighter, fruitier notes that balance the heavier, dark cask influence.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Baked pear in red wine meets dark berries and a hint of spiced citrus peel.

    Item no.: 2222388-7447

In an old wireworks beside the River Derwent, surrounded by Derbyshire's UNESCO-listed industrial heritage, White Peak Distillery brews and distils a malt that borrows as much from brewing craft as from whisky tradition. This bottling was selected by Sukhinder Singh for Elixir Distillers' series The Whisky Trail and shows the distillery's style as it stood in its early years.

    Expert's Description

The Whisky Trail White Peak Distillery 2018 Vintage is a Single Malt English Whisky matured in first fill bourbon casks and bottled at 52.4%.

White Peak Distillery was founded in 2016 by husband and wife Max and Claire Vaughan in the former Johnson & Nephew wireworks in Ambergate, within the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. The distillery ferments with both brewer's yeast from local brewer Thornbridge and traditional distiller's yeast, and part of the mash is made from lightly peated malt, giving the spirit a discreet smoky undertone beneath its fresh, fruity core. This bottling was distilled in 2018, bottled in 2025 from a small batch of four first fill bourbon casks, and is limited to 1,254 bottles.

The Whisky Trail is part of Elixir Trails, where Sukhinder Singh — co-founder of Elixir Distillers and one of the whisky world's most respected bottlers — selects single distilleries for their craft and character rather than name or hype.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

The nose offers vanilla and soft caramel from the bourbon cask, backed by a faint smoky undertone and fresh apples.

    Palate

The palate is fruity with ripe pear and citrus peel, while a soft malty sweetness and a hint of smoke add depth without taking over.

    Item no.: 22227865424-503 - 559

This release from Boann Distillery is made exclusively for the Danish market and is built on a single, hand-selected Oloroso sherry cask from Jerez.

    Expert Review

The Whistler 6 Year Old Single Cask Oloroso Sherry is a Single Cask Irish Whiskey matured in a first fill Oloroso Sherry Butt, bottled at natural cask strength 59.55%.

The whiskey has matured its entire maturation period in a single first fill Oloroso Sherry Butt from Jerez, which has contributed plenty of colour and nuance to the flavour. It is bottled without chill filtration or added colouring, giving the raw drops at their completely natural alcohol strength. On the nose, powerful notes of sherry and dried fruit come through clearly, with the classic dusty tone from Oloroso maturation. This release is made exclusively for the Danish market.
