Kilchoman / 100% Islay / 4 th Release 70cl / 50%Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery BottlingThe 100% Islay whisky range is unique. It is produced from barley grown at the distillery, and every step of the production is completed onsite.The 4th limited edition 100% Islay is a combination of 5 year old first fill bourbon barrels selected from our warehouse. With a delicate and floral nose of soft fruits and pear drops, 100% Islay goes on with peat smoke in the mouth, complimented by a long, sweet and lingering finish that blends with the softer tones of peat smoke.

In 2005, Anthony Wills founded the small farm distillery at Islay this exciting new distillery, where true craftsmanship is applied to the production of what, with years of ageing, will evolve into a legendary Islay malt. 2009 saw the Anaugural release and the Autoum 2009 release. The 2 bottlings were a huge success to say the least and sold out in a matter of days. Then came several other bottlings such as Spring 2010, Summer 2010, Winter 2010 and Spring 2011, all bottled at 46%. Since then came: Vintage 2006 - the first 5 year old original bottling of Kilchoman. In 2012, Kilchoman decided that their standard bottling for the coming years would be: Kilchoman, Machir Bay, named after the beautiful bay close to the distillery. Machir Bay will slowly age year by year. In 2013, Machir Bay is from 4-5 year old bourbon casks, where the 4 year old casks have been given a sherry finish before bottling. Machir Bay has already won several medals at major whisky competitions, including the title of Malt of the Year in Scotland 2013, which is unheard of for such a young malt. In 2010, Kilchoman managed to get the long-time manager of Bunnahabhain John MacLellan to take over as manager of Kilchoman. John's vast experience from over 25 years in the whisky industry has really helped Kilchoman move forward. Also in 2012 a very limited bottling of the 1st sherry release was produced and in 2013 this annual sherry bottling was named Loch Gorm. Both oloroso sherry bottlings have been sold out.Kilchoman 100% Islay is the name of the most unique product of Islay malt whisky. In the 3 bottlings of 100% Islay so far, only grain from the farm on which the distillery is located has been used, 100% floor malting has been used. The maturing and bottling has also taken place 100% at Islay and at the distillery.
