Mac-Talla is Gaelic for echo and refers to the fact that the family's long history resonates across the island. The island Islay with its long tradition of whisky offers great experiences shaped by the elements. The three whiskies in the series are named after the island's elements - Terra (earth), Mara (sea), Strata (rock layers). Strata refers to the many rock formations on Islay. Strata is aged 15 years in sherry casks and the taste is multi-layered - just like the raw rocks Strata has a beautiful golden glow. It smells of smoked barley malt, mussel shells and sherry-pickled fruits. The smooth taste is characterized by peat smoke and warm spices. It is full-bodied and warming with a delicious smoky finish.
