Gaia is the name of the earth goddess, and it is also the name of Waterford's organic base series. Here it is all about fields free of pesticides and artificial fertiliser.

    Expert Review

Waterford Organic Gaia 2.1 is an Irish Single Malt Whisky made from 100% organically grown barley, bottled at 50%.

The bottle belongs to Waterford Distillery's Arcadian series, where the barley is grown without artificial fertiliser or pesticides. The Gaia releases form the organic branch of the series, while the Luna releases are both organic and biodynamic. The cask programme for Gaia 2.1 consists of 39% first fill American oak, 17% new oak, 19% French oak and 25% oak casks that previously held sweet wine such as port and marsala. As with Waterford's other releases, a traceability code appears on the label.

    Tasting Notes
