Before Inchmurrin, Inchmoan and Croftengea became household names, Loch Lomond's malt was simply called Old Rhosdhu. It was last produced around the year 2000, making every bottle today a small time capsule from the distillery's early years.
Expert's Description
Old Rhosdhu 5 Year Old is a Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in bourbon casks and bottled at 40%.
Old Rhosdhu was produced shortly after the distillery opened in 1966 and, until around the year 2000, was the name for Loch Lomond's then single malt style. The whisky reflects the distillery's set-up, designed for maximum reflux, giving it its characteristic fruity, floral style.
