A used ruby port cask can do remarkable things to an otherwise quiet Speyside malt. This Limited Release from Lady of the Glen shows just how far Glenlossie can stretch when it's allowed to borrow colour from Portugal.
Expert's Description
Glenlossie 2010/2021 Lady of the Glen 10 Year Old is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at cask strength, 53.9%.
Distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2021 by Lady of the Glen, created by Hannah Whisky Merchants, from cask number 8646 – matured in bourbon and finished in a used ruby port cask. 301 bottles were released as part of a Limited Release, with no added colour and no chill filtration.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Red berries and a touch of cherry sit over the cereal base, with a hint of dark chocolate from the port cask.
Palate
Full and berry-toned, with blackcurrant, caramel and a warm spice that comes through clearly at the high cask strength.
Finish
Long and warm, with lingering red berries and a faintly tannic close – a few drops of water open the flavour further.

Did You Know?
Every Lady of the Glen bottle is single cask, meaning that once a batch like this one – just 301 bottles – sells out, it never returns in exactly the same form.
