One more year in cask makes a difference you can taste. This 15-year-old is the more mature sister to Signatory's 14-year-old from the same distillate – both from 2006, both powerful, but each with its own character.
Expert's Description
Glenlossie 2006/2022 Signatory 15 Year Old is a Single Speyside Malt Whisky bottled at cask strength, 58.2%.
Distilled on 27 November 2006 and bottled on 18 January 2022 by Signatory under its Cask Strength Collection label, from two bourbon barrels, Cask No. 3293 and 3301, yielding 347 bottles – with no added colour and no chill filtration.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Darker caramel and toasted almonds than its younger sister, with a clear scent of warm oak polish and a hint of dried figs.
Palate
Deep and full, with burnt sugar, dark chocolate and a warm, almost peppery spice. The cask's grip on the spirit is more pronounced after the extra year.
Finish
Long, dry and faintly bitter, with a lingering note of dark caramel and oak.
