Ardnamurchan Distillery presents this year’s edition of The Midgie, a distinctive single malt whisky inspired by Scotland’s most persistent summer pest. This unique release is crafted with a well-balanced combination of 50% former American bourbon casks, 48% port barriques, and 2% sherry casks, resulting in a complex and nuanced flavor profile. The whisky consists of 75% unpeated and 25% peated spirit, creating a harmonious balance between fruity and smoky notes.  

This whisky opens with a layered nose, where cooked ham meets caramelized pineapple, prunes dipped in salt, and strawberry jam on a salted cracker. The whisky begins its journey with seven years in bourbon casks before being transferred to Grand Cru casks for an additional eight years of maturation.
