Cadenheads 7-Stars is a Blended Scotch Whisky finished in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 46%.

Seven Stars revives a historic Cadenhead's brand originally bottled to show that outstanding whisky could be made by blending carefully chosen casks from the house's own stocks. Wm Cadenhead was founded in 1842 and is Scotland's oldest independent bottler, today run by J & A Mitchell, the people behind Springbank and Glengyle.

The contents combine malt and grain whisky from distilleries across Scotland with the weight on the grain share. After blending, the whisky is finished in oloroso sherry casks, and that is where the character gains depth, body and a darker tone.

Nose

Raisin and dried fig with malted grain, orange peel and a stroke of toasted nut.

Palate

Soft and creamy with toffee, dark fruit and a fine sherry spice. The 46% carries more weight than a standard blend.

Finish

Medium and dry with nuts, grain and a lightly bitter oak note.
