  Mosgaard Amontillado Single Cask is the name of this Danish Single Malt Whisky - selected by Jes Mosgaard and with only 250 bottles, don't wait too long to buy this delicious Danish whisky. Amontillado is an exciting experiment based on aging the whisky in two different types of sherry casks. It is first aged for almost 4 years in Oloroso casks, which gives the well-known elegance, sweetness and fine fruit notes that characterize our Oloroso whisky - and then another year in an old Amontillado Hogshead.
  
  Amontillado sherry is an exciting double-aged sherry that is first aged under Flor in the casks, and after approx. After 3.5-5 years, the Flor falls and it now continues to age oxidatively, and this process typically gives the sherry exciting notes of tobacco, nuts, acidity and "wood" notes.
  
  It is exactly this spicy mix that Jes Mosgaard wanted to add to what the Oloroso barrels can provide, and he has succeeded to a great extent. His notes from a previous tasting are dryness, almonds/nuts, vanilla/marzipan, plums, blue grapes, figs, cinnamon, orange - and with a little water it opens up with tingling grape notes. It's bottled at 58%, so it's exciting to sit and enjoy it over time, adding water a little at a time to slowly work through the different flavors.

  Mosgaard Peat & Port; we have named this Danish Single Malt Whisky - we had the pleasure of visiting Jes Mosgaard, because we had to select a Single Cask exclusively bottled for Whisky.dk - we tasted 6 different samples and ended up with this cask, a 64 liter quarter cask built from used port wine staves. The style is Mosgaard Peated and the whisky was first stored in a used bourbon cask before being transferred to the Port cask

  Released to celebrate Mosgaard's 6th anniversary. Jes Mosgaard says about this whisky:"On March 1, 2016, we lit up our spirit still for the first time and filled the first cask at Tanghavevej in Oure. Over the last 6 years we have refined the taste and expression to make whisky that has won many international competitions, and we are becoming increasingly experimental. Single Cask Peated & Spicy is our latest expression, where our peated New Spirit is first aged in Ex. Bourbon Quarter casks and then given a cask finish in European Virgin oak. This is not an unfamiliar method for Mosgaard's peated whiskies - but this particular cask has yielded something completely unfamiliar. The whisky has become very dark - bordering on chestnut brown, and the European oak has given the whisky some strong peppery notes, sweetness as in dark cocoa and a finish like English licorice, something we have never experienced before, and therefore a really exciting celebration of our 6th anniversary with the casks." 128 bottles have been produced

  Mossburn Island Blended Malt Scotch Whisky 46% Mossburn Island Whisky from independent whisky merchant Mossburn, this 46% Island Whisky version is aged in a mix of different Bourbon casks, and the barrel end is hard toasted or a "HC" (Heavily Char Heads) - the whisky has been bottled without colorants or chill filtration. The taste gives you clear hints that the oak influence is very evident on the palate, hints of tannin and spice mingling with heather-dried fruit, more pepper and all the while carried by a bold seductive island smoke. In the aftertaste you can expect a long full-bodied finish, with a small, but well-intentioned, dry burning kick at the end. Distillery: ????
