Laphroaig 15 Year Old Version Single Islay Malt Whisky 43%

Laphroaig 15 Year Old is a refined and more sophisticated version of the classic 10-year expression – here in a vintage bottling from 2008. This single malt presents lively notes of fresh oak and warm peat smoke, supported by a gentle sweetness reminiscent of freshly grated nutmeg and roasted almonds. A subtle saltiness rounds off the overall impression.

On the nose, powerful peat smoke dominates with hints of tar, iodine, and a touch of creosote. A bit of fruit unfolds and blends with elegant smoky swirls, resulting in a rich and complex aromatic profile.

The taste opens with medicinal peat smoke that quickly softens and becomes more harmonious. It is rich, smooth, and well-balanced, with sweetness slowly emerging, followed by intense peat smoke and a hint of malt.

The finish is pronounced but well-calibrated – smoky and balanced, and it carries the flavor elegantly.

Laphroaig Oak Select Single Islay Malt Whisky 70 cl 40% is an elegant and approachable expression from the iconic Islay distillery. Crafted through maturation in a combination of different cask types, it delivers a unique balance between the distillery’s signature peaty smoke and softer, rounded notes.

The whisky has been matured in Oloroso sherry butts, American white oak – including virgin oak – hogsheads seasoned with Pedro Ximénez, quarter casks, and first-fill bourbon barrels. This diverse maturation process adds both depth and complexity, while smoothing out the powerful smoky character with touches of sweetness and spice.

On the nose, it offers pronounced peat smoke, sea salt, and citrus, complemented by vanilla and subtle sherry tones. The palate is full-bodied and well-balanced, with layers of smoke, spice, sweet vanilla, and dried fruit. The finish is softer than many classic Laphroaig releases, yet still long and distinctive.

With its combination of strength and elegance, Laphroaig Oak Select is an excellent choice for seasoned Islay enthusiasts as well as those looking to explore the world of peated whisky in a more harmonious style.

Ledaig 18 Years Tobermory Single Isle of Mull Malt Scotch Whisky 70 cl 46.3%

Ledaig 18 Years is a characterful and heavily peated single malt whisky from Tobermory Distillery, located on the picturesque Isle of Mull off Scotland’s west coast. Founded in 1798, the distillery produces both the unpeated Tobermory and the smoky Ledaig – two distinct expressions from the same source, but with very different flavor profiles.

Ledaig, pronounced “led-chig” and meaning “safe haven” in Gaelic, is the distillery’s tribute to the old style of west coast peated whisky.

Tobermory 18 Years Old is a single malt that demonstrates why the Isle of Mull distillery has become one of Scotland’s most respected names. This edition is the result of patience and careful maturation, spending most of its life in classic bourbon casks before receiving a sherry cask finish, which adds depth and complexity. The combination of these cask types creates a whisky with a unique balance of sweetness, smoke, maritime notes, and spice – all hallmarks of the Tobermory style.

As always, it is bottled at the distillery’s iconic strength of 46.3%, natural, un-chillfiltered, and without added color. This ensures the whisky is experienced exactly as intended by the master blender – authentic, pure, and true in character.

The nose opens with an intense fruitiness that immediately captures attention. Rich, smoky malt wraps elegantly around dried fruit, oak, and sherry aromas. A clear maritime influence is present – a salty sea breeze mingling with underlying sweetness, creating a harmonious balance.

On the palate, the whisky is powerful and full-bodied, yet refined. Layers unfold gradually: first herbal peat smoke, followed by soft caramel with sea salt, freshly grated orange zest, and a hint of old tobacco. Mid-palate, spices emerge, particularly the fresh bite of white pepper, adding structure and depth. This is a whisky that evolves in the mouth, inviting slow contemplation.

The finish is long, warm, and persistent. Smoke and sherry return in a rounded, elegant way, complemented by notes of licorice and a mineral freshness reminiscent of sea spray on an early morning. It is both satisfying and refined – clear proof of a whisky of exceptional class.

It is no surprise that Tobermory 18 Years Old has earned wide acclaim among whisky connoisseurs worldwide. In 2023, it was awarded “Whisky of the Year” by The Whisky Exchange, cementing its reputation as a modern classic. A whisky to be enjoyed by seasoned collectors and enthusiasts alike, as well as those seeking to experience the perfect balance of a Scottish single malt.

Tobermory 18 Years Old is more than just a whisky – it is a story of the Isle of Mull, the sea, tradition, and innovation. A dram that captures the essence of the distillery’s history and its ambition to create whisky of world-class quality.

  • Loch Lomond Grainstorm Peated Single Grain Scotch Whisky 70 cl 46%
    Item no.: 222278-6524775

On the banks of Loch Lomond, where Scotland's lowlands meet the highlands, sits a distillery that refuses to play by the rules. Here, peated malted barley runs through a column still instead of traditional copper pots — and the result is a whisky that behaves like neither malt nor grain, but insists on its own path.

    Expert's description

Loch Lomond Grainstorm Peated is a Highland Single Grain Scotch Whisky matured in bourbon casks and bottled at 46%.

The whisky is made exclusively from heavily peated malted barley, but because it's distilled in Loch Lomond Distillery's continuous column still rather than traditional pot stills, it's classified as single grain rather than single malt — a quirk that makes this bottle something of a genuine anomaly in Scotch production.

It's matured in a combination of first-fill and refill American oak bourbon casks under the eye of Master Blender Michael Henry, delivering a soft, fruity character with creamy vanilla and a whisper of smoke. The whisky sits in the distillery's permanent range and was relaunched under the Grainstorm name in late 2024.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Clove and blackcurrant sit alongside citrus peel and a touch of freshly cut grass, with vanilla running underneath as a sweet current throughout.

    Palate

Sweet, tangy peat meets green apple and lime citrus on the tongue, with aniseed in the mix. The smoke stays in the background here — more spice than bonfire.

    Finish

The finish is crisp and dry, with a distant trace of peat smoke lingering long after the last sip.

    Item no.: 059763-615-1032

On the banks of Scotland's most famous loch sits a distillery that isn't afraid to play with fire. Loch Lomond Steam & Fire comes from the same curiosity that drives the distillery's own on-site cooperage, where barrels aren't just aged but re-charred until they give the whisky something entirely its own.

    Expert's Description

Loch Lomond Steam & Fire is a Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in American oak and bottled at 46%.

The whisky begins its life in a combination of first-fill bourbon barrels and American oak, before moving into casks that are heavily re-charred at the distillery's own cooperage – a process staff call "steam and fire". Ten months of finishing on these hard-charred casks gives the whisky its signature depth of toasted wood and burnt sugar, without ever losing Loch Lomond's fruity, light house style.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Toffee and ripe apples meet a sweet caramel aroma with a touch of cinnamon and a light, tangy citrus edge.

    Palate

Silky on the palate with orange, peach and marmalade, sliding into toasted marshmallow and melted brown sugar – finishing with a hint of dark chocolate.

    Finish

Medium to long, dry finish with smoky dark chocolate and a gentle wisp of smoke from the charred casks.

  • Bottle of Longrow 100 Proof Batch 1 from Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown
    Item no.: 2222444-2025

Some whiskies whisper. Longrow 100 Proof shouts. From Springbank's old still house by the Campbeltown harbour comes this powerful take on the peated Longrow style, cranked up to a strength that matches the smoke blow for blow.

    Expert Description

Longrow 100 Proof Batch 1 is a Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled at Springbank, matured in bourbon and pinot noir casks and bottled at cask strength, 57.1%.

The name 100 Proof refers to the old British strength scale, where 100 proof equals roughly 57% ABV - the strength whisky was historically traded and taxed at. Batch 1 in this series spent its first four years in refill bourbon casks before a further two years in fresh pinot noir casks, layering sweet berry notes over Longrow's bold, peated core.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Medicinal smoke and blackcurrant arrive immediately, followed by macerated strawberries, red grapes and a hint of tobacco. Beneath the smoke sit classic Springbank markers of oil, citrus and dried seaweed.

    Palate

The smoke turns more earthy on the palate, with creme brulee, vanilla and almonds in the background. Charred bacon, black pepper and a whiff of spent matches add edge, while tart red berries keep it fresh.

    Finish

Red cola cubes, strawberry laces and marzipan carry the long, smoky finish home.

    Investment Potential

Low - Longrow 100 Proof is made for drinking rather than shelf-holding, and it sells through quickly at retailers, but the series has not yet established itself as a dedicated collector's item.

    Did You Know?

The term "proof" comes from an old test where gunpowder was soaked in whisky and set alight - if it burned evenly, the strength was "proven" high enough to be pure spirit.

Round two of Longrow 100 Proof proves that cask strength doesn't have to come at the cost of balance. The power is still there, but this batch has its own fingerprint from the casks.

    Expert Description

Longrow 100 Proof Batch 2 is a Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled at Springbank, bottled at cask strength, 57.1%.

Like Batch 1, this release is double distilled and defined by an intense peat smoke, deep complexity and a clear maritime edge. The full, oily mouthfeel is backed by notes of charred wood, salted caramel and dark chocolate that fuse into a long, smoky experience - a clear tribute to Campbeltown's whisky traditions.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Charred wood and salted caramel meet dark chocolate and a pronounced, medicinal smoke.

    Palate

Full and oily with spice and a charred sweetness that binds the smoke together with a light salty edge.

  • Bottle of Longrow 21 Year Old Limited Edition from Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown
    Item no.: 059763-615-462

Where the Mull of Kintyre runs out into the sea and the water keeps hammering at granite and kelp, the old pot stills still fire up a different kind of Campbeltown whisky. Longrow is the peated sibling of Springbank, and in this 21 year old 2023 release, time has softened the smoke into something almost sweet.

    Expert Description

Longrow 21 Year Old Limited Edition 2023 is a Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled at Springbank, matured in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks and bottled at 46%.

Longrow is the most heavily peated of the three styles produced at Springbank Distillery, alongside the medium-peated Springbank and the unpeated, triple-distilled Hazelburn. The barley is dried over peat smoke for up to 48 hours before it is milled, mashed and fermented using the same old-fashioned methods as the rest of the distillery's output. The 21 year old is the oldest standing release in the Longrow range, and this 2023 vintage draws its character from roughly 65% sherry casks and 35% bourbon casks, a combination that lends the smoke a sweetness rarely found in younger expressions.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

A savoury, slightly tangy note greets you first, followed by hazelnut and blackcurrant. Underneath sits a hint of tanned leather and smoked ham.

    Palate

A syrupy sweetness coats the palate, where cola bottles and cigar-box tobacco play off each other while the smoke stays in the background like a warm, whispering bass note.

    Finish

The finish is pure Longrow: shingle beach, wet flint and seaweed, as if the sea itself washes over the palate one last time.

    Palate

Well-balanced smoke with a soft sweetness beneath the surface that keeps the medicinal notes in check.

  • Mac-Talla Pedro Ximenez 2026 Islay Single Malt Whisky 70 cl 52,8%
    Item no.: 223-2022778

Mac‑Talla Pedro Ximénez 2026 Islay Single Malt Whisky 70 cl 52.8%

Mac‑Talla PX is an Islay single malt that brings together fruitiness, deep sherry sweetness and the island’s characteristic peat smoke. It is created by the Morrison family, who for generations have had a strong connection to Islay, something they highlight themselves: “Mac‑Talla, meaning ‘echo’ in Scottish Gaelic, perfectly reflects the connection the Morrison family have had with Islay for generations.”

The style is clearly sherry‑driven with a focus on Pedro Ximénez casks. The colour is described as “burnt molasses” and the nose as “sticky dates, raisins and gentle peat,” giving the whisky a rich, dark and dessert‑like profile.

The palate is intense and layered with dark dried fruits, warm treacle toffee and a salty coastal note that ties the sherry sweetness together with Islay’s smoke. As described: “Dark dried fruit, warm treacle toffee and coastal brine… with rich and intense layers of raisins, dates and a hint of spice.”

The whisky is matured in a combination of first fill PX sherry butts and refill PX hogsheads, providing both depth and balance. It is bottled at 52.8%, non‑chill filtered and with no added colour.

In short, Mac‑Talla PX is a full‑bodied, dark and smoke‑kissed Islay whisky where PX sherry sweetness meets the island’s maritime character. An intense and fruity dram for those who love the combination of peat, deep sherry influence and powerful flavour.

    Item no.: 2222666333-2022-01-0003
Mac-Talla Strata 15 Year Single Islay Malt Whisky 70 cl 46% The Mac-Talla range was created by the Morrison family, who have been making Islay whisky for 5 generations.
Mac-Talla is Gaelic for echo and refers to the fact that the family's long history resonates across the island. The island Islay with its long tradition of whisky offers great experiences shaped by the elements. The three whiskies in the series are named after the island's elements - Terra (earth), Mara (sea), Strata (rock layers). Strata refers to the many rock formations on Islay. Strata is aged 15 years in sherry casks and the taste is multi-layered - just like the raw rocks Strata has a beautiful golden glow. It smells of smoked barley malt, mussel shells and sherry-pickled fruits. The smooth taste is characterized by peat smoke and warm spices. It is full-bodied and warming with a delicious smoky finish. The history of the Morrison family's work at Islay begins with whisky merchant William Walker in the 1930s. Stanley P. Morrison began his apprenticeship at T. William Walker & Co. By 1951 it was time to strike out on his own and he set up his own whisky company 'Stanley P Morrison Ltd', working with many of the well-known blended whisky producers. In 1963, he bought Islay's oldest whisky distillery Bowmore (now owned by Suntory). Today, Stanley's son and grandson run the company behind Mac-Talla, which naturally belongs at Islay.
