Since 1992, Wilson & Morgan has nursed a very Italian fondness for Scotch whisky – and a particular knack for finding the casks that give the most character. This Glenlossie came out a deep mahogany colour long before it ever reached a glass.

Glenrothes 10 Year Old 100 Proof Edition #20 was distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2024 by independent bottler Signatory Vintage, who hand-pick casks from distilleries across Scotland for their exclusive 100 Proof series.

The whisky has matured in Oloroso Sherry Butts and is bottled at cask strength, 57.1%, non-chill-filtered and with no added colouring – a full-bodied, spiced take on Glenrothes' classic Speyside character.

Nose

Oloroso sherry, raisin sweetness and a hint of toasted nut.

Palate

Full-bodied and spiced, with dried fruit, caramel and a warm sherry sweetness.

Glenrothes 12 Year Old Soleo Collection is a Single Speyside Malt Whisky from the distillery in Rothes, matured exclusively in casks that have been sherry-seasoned.

The whisky is bottled with natural colour at 40%, and the Soleo Collection name refers to the Spanish sunning process, where casks are dried in the sun to prepare them for whisky maturation – a method central to Glenrothes' signature sherried style.

Only 330 bottles exist of this one. Dràm Mòr found a single oloroso cask at Glenrothes, let the whisky rest for 18 years, and the result is one of the most sherry-heavy single cask releases we've had in the shop.

Glenrothes 18 years old from Scottish independent bottler Dràm Mòr was distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2024, and has matured the whole way in a single 1st fill Oloroso sherry hogshead – cask #7479.

With only 330 bottles from this one cask, and bottled at 55.2% with no chill-filtration or added colouring, this is a whisky that shows Glenrothes' sherried character in a very concentrated, intense form.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Spanish sun-dried fruit in abundance, backed by warm, spiced Spanish oak.

Palate

A luxurious, full-bodied sherry bomb, with stewed dried fruit, nuts, chocolate, ginger and cinnamon, plus a hint of old leather and alcohol-soaked prunes.

Finish

Very long and warming, gentle and pleasant all the way down.
