  • Glenlivet Cellar Collection bottle with gold detailing and vintage-style label
    Item no.: 22227865396-1

Some casks the distillery never forgets. A few remain in the warehouse year after year, while the rest of the vintage is sold and drunk, until they are finally ready to earn a chapter of their own. Glenlivet 1983 is one of those casks.

    Expert Description

Glenlivet 1983/2003 Cellar Collection 20 Year Old is a Single Speyside Malt Whisky, matured in French Limousin oak and bottled at 46%.

The whisky was distilled in 1983 and drawn from the cask again in 2003 as part of The Glenlivet's Cellar Collection, a series in which the distillery's management selected casks that show the house's classic style in a more mature and complex form. French Limousin oak is a deliberate choice, distinct from the American and Spanish oak the whisky is usually matured in, and it lends the bottle a note of spice and a tighter wood character than one usually associates with Glenlivet. The whisky is bottled without chill filtration, preserving its natural oils and structure.

After 20 years, the light, fruity style Glenlivet is known for has had time to develop into something deeper, without losing the freshness that defines the distillery.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Ripe pears and green apples meet honey and vanilla, with a hint of citrus and a light spiced undertone from the Limousin oak.

    Palate

Round and full with tropical fruit, malt and toffee, where the long maturation gives a creamy texture and a subtle balance between sweetness and spice.

    Finish

Long and elegant with oak, dried fruit and a discreet nutty tone.

    Did You Know?

The casks for the Cellar Collection were personally selected by then distillery manager Jim Cryle, who led The Glenlivet through much of the 1980s and 1990s and was behind several of the distillery's most acclaimed experiments with French oak.

    Item no.: 2222-888745

Four months can make quite a difference where cask strength is concerned. This cask was emptied in April 2021, half a year before its sibling cask from the same distillate, and came out even stronger.

    Did You Know?

A first fill sherry cask, meaning a cask that has only previously held sherry and never whisky before this filling, typically gives a far more intense colour and flavour influence than a refill cask, which explains the deep sherry character in this bottling.

  • Glenlivet 21 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail bottle with classic label
    Item no.: 22227865438-339

When the Duke of Gordon pushed a new excise law through in 1823, he forced a young farmer named George Smith to pick a side. That choice created the distillery that has since given its name to the entire valley, and to this bottle.

    Expert Description

Glenlivet 21 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail is a Single Highland Malt Whisky, matured for 21 years and bottled at 40%.

The whisky is distilled at The Glenlivet and bottled by the independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail of Elgin, who since 1895 have specialised in selecting and maturing single malt whisky from Scottish distilleries. The Glenlivet distillery's roots trace back to 1815, when illicit distilling was already taking place in the area, long before George Smith leased land at Upper Drumin Farm in 1817 and obtained the first official licence in 1824. The distillery's success led several neighbours to attach "Glenlivet" to their own names, which in 1880 ended in a court case ruling that only one whisky had the right to be called "The Glenlivet".

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Mature and rounded, with dried fruit and a hint of honey, typical of a long-matured Gordon & MacPhail bottling.

    Palate

Soft and rounded with notes of nuts and a light spiced warmth that builds on the fruity base character.

One cask, 564 bottles, four Nordic countries to share them. That is how the story of Coupar Angus begins, a bottle never meant for a large audience, and precisely for that reason so sought after.

    Expert Description

Glenlivet Coupar Angus 15 Year Old Limited Edition is a Single Speyside Malt Whisky, drawn straight from a single sherry cask at cask strength of 57.9%.

The whisky is a distillery bottling, released exclusively to be shared between the four Nordic countries, with only 564 bottles of this specific release reaching Scandinavia. The cask has spent 15 years maturing in American white oak and belongs to what the distillery calls its Nordic Cask series, single casks selected specifically for the Nordic market. The name Coupar Angus refers to a location near the distillery, in keeping with The Glenlivet's tradition of naming single cask releases after places in the area.

In 1824, George Smith stood alone with his licence and his defiance of the Scottish farmers who refused to pay tax on their home-distilled whisky. Two centuries later, this bottle still carries his name forward as a tribute to the man who founded The Glenlivet.

    Expert Description

Glenlivet Founders Reserve is a Single Speyside Malt Whisky, bottled at 40% with no age statement.

The whisky launched in 2015 as a tribute to the distillery's founder and was intended to eventually take over from the popular Glenlivet 12 Year Old in the core range. Founders Reserve is matured in a combination of traditional American oak casks and new bourbon casks used only once, the first time The Glenlivet had used this cask type. The combination gives the whisky a creamy, sweet character with pronounced vanilla. On release, Founders Reserve won gold at the 2015 Scotch Whisky Masters, cementing its place in the distillery's range.

Cipher was one of The Glenlivet's limited releases, developed as part of a campaign in which the distillery played with mystery and code themes around the flavour. High above the Glenlivet valley sits a hill that once mattered a great deal to smugglers. Creag An Innean gave them a view over the road south, and an edge over the excisemen.

    Expert Description

Glenlivet Nordic Single Cask 2017 Creag An Innean is a Single Speyside Malt Whisky, drawn from a single Oloroso sherry cask at cask strength of 61.2%.

The whisky is a distillery bottling from The Glenlivet, released specifically for the Scandinavian market, with only 618 bottles from this one Spanish Oloroso sherry cask (cask no. 58013). The name Creag An Innean refers to a hill near the distillery that, in the 19th century, served as a lookout point for whisky smugglers heading south to the market in Dundee, a place from which they could watch for excisemen and plan their routes well in advance.

    Tasting Notes

  • Bottle of Glenlossie Flora & Fauna Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
    Item no.: 22227865471-303

South of Elgin, where Speyside flattens out toward the coast, sits a distillery few outside the trade have ever heard of. Glenlossie has spent decades quietly propping up blends like Haig's and Dimple – Flora & Fauna is one of the rare chances to meet it on its own.

    Expert's Description

Glenlossie 10 Year Old Flora & Fauna Single Speyside Malt Whisky is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 43%.

The bottle belongs to the Flora & Fauna series, launched in 1992 by the then United Distillers (today Diageo, the world's largest spirits company). The original series comprised 26 different single malts, chosen to show the breadth of Scotland's whisky regions – most bottled at 43%, a handful at cask strength, and some presented in wooden cases.

Glenlossie sits just south of Elgin alongside several other distilleries most drinkers have never heard of, since their output mainly feeds blends. Glenlossie is a well-known component of Haig's and Dimple, and it rarely appears on a label by itself.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Cornflakes and freshly cut vanilla arrive first, quietly rather than loudly – Glenlossie isn't a whisky that shouts. Behind the pale, cereal sweetness sits a hint of ripe orchard fruit, held back almost politely.

    Palate

Ginger and toasted bread define the palate, carried on a soft, creamy body. The sweetness stays restrained and malty rather than fruity, and the texture is round without turning heavy.

    Finish

White pepper adds a small spark to an otherwise quiet finish – short, dry and precise, like a parting remark from a whisky that would rather do its work inside a blend than stand alone on a shelf.

  • Bottle of Glenlossie Lady of the Glen Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
    Item no.: 22227865478-78963

Lady of the Glen sticks to one simple rule: casks from silent distilleries, or rare, tightly limited parcels. This Glenlossie is another reason the Scottish bottler has built such a following among collectors in recent years.

    Expert's Description

Glenlossie 10 Year Old Lady of the Glen is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at full cask strength, 56.6%.

Distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2023 by the independent bottler Lady of the Glen, run by Hannah Whisky Merchants, the whisky comes from a single cask, No. 5308, a refill hogshead finished in an ex ruby port cask. Lady of the Glen always bottles single cask, non-chill filtered and with no added colour, so what lands in the glass is the whisky exactly as the cask left it.

Glenlossie rarely appears as a standalone single malt, since most of its output feeds blends such as Haig's and Dimple – every independent Glenlossie release is a small look behind that curtain.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Ripe red berries and a touch of port-wine sweetness sit over Glenlossie's cereal base. There's a hint of dried apricot and a light, spiced warmth from the high strength.

    Palate

Full and powerful, with red-wine berries, caramel and a clear cask-strength bite. The malt still comes through, carried by a faintly sweet, wine-toned note from the port cask.

    Finish

Long and warm, with lingering berry and spice notes that slowly settle into a dry, faintly tannic finish.

  • Bottle of Glenlossie Berry Bros 23 Year Old Speyside Single Malt whisky
    Item no.: 22227865449-7042

Twenty-three years is a long time to sit still in a Scottish warehouse – long enough for a barely-known Speyside malt like Glenlossie to become something quite different from where it started. Berry Bros & Rudd has captured exactly that moment.

    Expert's Description

Glenlossie 1992/2016 Berry Bros 23 Year Old is a Single Speyside Malt Whisky bottled at 46%.

Distilled in 1992, the whisky was sourced by Berry Bros & Rudd, Britain's oldest wine and spirits merchant, which has traded rare casks under the Berry's Own Selection label since its founding in 1698. This Glenlossie comes from a single cask, No. 3473, and wears its 23 years openly – both in colour and in its mature, rounded character.

Glenlossie rarely reaches the world as a standalone single malt, since most of its output goes into blends. A release this old from an independent bottler is therefore a rare chance to meet the distillery at its most mature.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Waxy honey and dried apricot sit over a lightly nutty malt. Given time in the glass, a faint soapy, floral note emerges too, typical of older Speyside malts.

    Palate

Soft and round, with toffee, lightly toasted almonds and a hint of old oak polish. The 23 years have smoothed every edge, without the whisky losing its cereal core.

    Finish

Dry and faintly tannic, with a lingering honeyed note and a distant whisper of spiced wood.

For almost four decades, Signatory Vintage has made a living finding the casks the big names never wanted to bottle themselves. This 2006 Glenlossie is another reason enthusiasts keep an eye on their releases.

    Expert's Description

Glenlossie 2006/2020 Signatory Vintage 13 Year Old is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at cask strength, 58.5%.

Distilled on 27 November 2006 and bottled on 9 March 2020 by the independent bottler Signatory Vintage, one of Scotland's oldest and most prolific bottlers, this whisky comes from two bourbon casks, No. 3303 and 3304, yielding a small outturn of 335 bottles.

Signatory sources casks from distilleries across Scotland and bottles them under its own name – often from distilleries like Glenlossie, which rarely turns up as a standalone single malt elsewhere.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Fresh barley malt and vanilla custard meet a lightly tart fruitiness, like citrus peel. The bourbon cask lends a clear sweetness without taking over.

    Palate

Powerful and warm, with caramelised sugar, ripe pear and a peppery spice from the high strength. The malt stays clear throughout.

    Finish

Long, dry and lightly spiced, with a lingering note of vanilla foam and a touch of oak.

Two casks from the same distillate, bottled just a year apart – a rare chance to see how a single bourbon barrel can pull a whisky in its own direction. This is one half of that story.

    Expert's Description

Glenlossie 2006/2021 Signatory 14 Year Old is a Single Speyside Malt Whisky bottled at cask strength, 58.6%.

Distilled on 27 November 2006 and bottled on 22 April 2021 by Signatory, from two bourbon barrels, Cask No. 3291 and 3302, yielding 388 bottles – with no added colour and no chill filtration, so the colour is exactly what the casks gave it.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Pale honey and vanilla custard with a hint of coconut from the bourbon cask. Beneath the sweetness sits a dry, cereal malt and a touch of green apple.

    Palate

Powerful and sweet, with caramel, vanilla sugar and a warm, peppery spice. The bourbon cask's imprint is clear, but it never smothers the malt beneath.

    Finish

Long and dry, with a faintly bitter oak note and a last trace of honey.

Darker caramel and toasted almonds than its younger sister, with a clear scent of warm oak polish and a hint of dried figs.

Nine years is young in Glenlossie's world, but even here you can sense why the distillery is so prized by blenders. Berry Bros & Rudd has captured the fresh, direct side of the whisky before time got to round off anything.

    Expert's Description

Glenlossie 2007/2017 Berry Bros 9 Year Old is a Single Speyside Malt Whisky bottled at 46%.

Distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2017 by Berry Bros & Rudd under the Berry's Own Selection label, from a single cask, No. 10103, at just nine years old this is one of the youngest Glenlossie releases in our range, showing the distillery's clean, cereal character more clearly than the older bottlings.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Fresh barley malt, green apple and a light honeyed sweetness. No obvious cask influence yet – this is clean, young Glenlossie.

    Palate

Crisp and direct, with cereal, pear and a light peppery spice. The texture is lighter than its older siblings, but still with good body.

    Finish

Short to medium, dry and cereal-driven, with a last hint of apple skin.

The Un-Chillfiltered Collection is Signatory's answer to whisky lovers who want the full flavour picture – no chill filtration, no shortcuts. This Glenlossie is a good example of what you gain by letting the whisky be entirely itself.

    Expert's Description

Glenlossie 2008/2021 The Un-Chillfiltered Collection Signatory Vintage 12 Year Old is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 46%.

Distilled on 28 October 2008 and bottled on 5 August 2021 by Signatory Vintage, from two casks, No. 10527 and 10528, with no added colour and no chill filtration. That leaves room for the whisky's full natural range of flavour, which filtration can otherwise strip away.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Creamy vanilla and lightly toasted oak meet a fresh citrus peel. Beneath the pale surface sits a clear malt sweetness.

    Palate

Round and creamy, with malty sweetness, citrus peel and a mild spice from the oak. The lack of filtration gives a noticeably fuller body than many other 12-year-old Speyside malts.

    Finish

Long and smooth, with a lingering, honeyed sweetness of cereal and light fruit.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Dried fig, raisin and a rich sherry sweetness, backed by dark chocolate and a hint of roasted coffee.

    Palate

Full-bodied and wine-toned, with syrupy sweetness, dates and a touch of oak spice. The PX cask gives a clear, almost dessert-like sweetness.

So when an independent bottler like Cadenhead's chooses to put the name on the label, it's a rare chance to meet the distillery on its own terms – no sherry cask masking the character.

    Expert's Description

Glenlossie-Glenlivet 2013/2025 Cadenhead's Original Collection 12 Year Old is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 46%.

The whisky is a release from Cadenhead's Original Collection, Scotland's oldest independent bottler, with roots dating back to 1842. It has spent twelve years in bourbon hogsheads – the slightly larger ex-bourbon casks – exactly the cask type that lets Glenlossie's pale, green and lightly bakery-toned style speak for itself. No finish, no detours. Just distillery and oak.

The name "Glenlossie-Glenlivet" is a leftover from an era when a string of Speyside distilleries appended "-Glenlivet" to borrow some shine from the famous name. Today it's mostly a nerdy nod to history.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Lemongrass and fresh herbs first, then a dusting of sherbet and soft, poached pears. Pale and lightly perfumed.

    Palate

Shortbread and crisp gooseberries sit atop a core of caramelised brown sugar. Creamy without turning heavy.

    Finish

Vanilla pod and icing sugar slide into crème brûlée and a nutty hint of pistachio. Lingers, soft and sweet.

    Did You Know?

Glenlossie actually shares its site and staff with neighbouring distillery Mannochmore – the two sit side by side south of Elgin, and almost everything from here ends up in blends, which is exactly why it's so rare to see the name alone on a bottle.

    Item no.: 22227865455-3

Glenmorangie has Scotland's tallest pot stills, as tall as a fully grown giraffe, and that's part of the reason The Original sits so light and elegant on the tongue. It's the bottle that has introduced more people to the distillery than any other.

    Expert's Description

Glenmorangie 12 Year Old The Original is a Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in bourbon casks and bottled at 40%.

The distillery sits in Tain in the north of Scotland and uses some of the tallest stills in the country, giving the spirit unusually long contact with the copper before it condenses. The result is a light, clean and remarkably smooth whisky that has been Glenmorangie's core story since 1843.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Citrus blossom and a light vanilla sweetness, backed by a fresh, almost mentholated crispness.

    Palate

Soft and round, with honey, pear and a mild spice from the bourbon cask. The texture is light, but far from thin.

    Finish

Short to medium, clean and refreshing, with a last hint of citrus.

Glenmorangie's pot stills are among the tallest in Scotland – over five metres – and the name Glenmorangie means "glen of tranquility" in Gaelic, a fitting description of the calm, gentle style the distillery is known for.

    Item no.: 505956-759824-66

This is how Glenmorangie used to taste, before whisky was routinely diluted down to today's usual 40-43%. Traditional 100 Proof is a tribute to that older, more powerful style.

    Expert's Description

Glenmorangie Traditional 100 Proof is a Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at a full 57.2% – the historic "100 proof" strength that was common for whisky in the early 1900s.

The whisky carries no age statement but is matured in bourbon casks at the distillery in Tain, just like Glenmorangie's core range. It's non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring, which together with the higher strength gives a fuller, more intense version of Glenmorangie's classic, citrus-driven style.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Powerful and intense, with toasted citrus peel, vanilla and a light touch of honey.

    Palate

Full and oily on the tongue, with orange, caramel and a warm, spiced sweetness from the higher strength.

    Finish

Long and warm, with lingering notes of citrus and cask spice.

    Did You Know?

"100 proof" is an old strength measure dating back to a time when whisky's alcohol content was tested by soaking gunpowder in the spirit – if it burned evenly, the strength was "proven" to be correct.

With only 330 bottles from a single cask, an advanced age of 18 years and a pronounced sherried character, this release belongs to the category of single cask bottlings that typically rise in value and become sought-after among collectors as the bottles sell out.

    Did You Know?

A "hogshead" is a cask type of around 225-250 litres – slightly larger than a standard sherry butt, giving the whisky slightly less wood influence per litre over the 18 years.
