  • Bottle of Glenfiddich The Original limited edition
    Item no.: 22227865429-209

In 1963, Glenfiddich did something no other Scotch distillery had dared before — they sold their single malt outside Scotland. The Original is a direct tribute to the bottle that changed the whisky world.

    Expert description

Glenfiddich The Original Limited Edition is a Single Speyside Malt Scotch Whisky matured in american ex-bourbon casks and European sherry casks and bottled at 40%. The release is built on the same cask combination Glenfiddich used for its very first export bottling: American ex-bourbon casks and European sherry casks. The Original was created in a limited run to celebrate the distillery's pioneering work, rather than as a fixed part of the core range.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Fresh pear and a touch of honey, with a delicate underlying sherry sweetness.

    Palate

Light and fruity with soft malt, honey and a mild spice.

    Finish

Short to medium, clean and lightly sweet.

Low. The Original pays tribute to the 1963 release that first brought Scotch single malt to the world, and historic tribute bottlings like this tend to appreciate quietly over time.

    Did you know?

The original 1963 release was sold in a triangular bottle — a design detail that still echoes in Glenfiddich's bottles today.

What happens if you let twenty different cask types meet in a single whisky? Project XX is Glenfiddich's answer — an experiment that ended up becoming a fixed part of the Experimental Series.

    Expert description

Glenfiddich XX Experimental Series is a Single Speyside Malt Scotch Whisky matured in 20 different cask types, selected by Glenfiddich's brand ambassadors and bottled at 47%. XX Experimental Series was created by a group of Glenfiddich's own brand ambassadors, each of whom was allowed to select a cask they believed would add something special. The 20 chosen casks — a mix of bourbon, sherry and wine-type casks — were then married together into a single whisky.

Two casks, one whisky. The Glenlivet's 12 year old core range rests on a simple idea: let two different oaks speak to each other until the balance is just right.

    Expert Description

Glenlivet 12 Year Old Double Oak is a Single Speyside Malt Scotch Whisky, matured for 12 years and bottled at 40%.

The whisky is part of The Glenlivet's core range and, as the name suggests, matured in two different cask types: first traditional American oak casks, then European oak casks that add an extra layer of flavour. The result is a remarkably floral, clean and soft whisky, where sweetness and a light dryness keep each other in check.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Floral and clean, with peach and a pronounced vanilla note.

    Palate

Soft and delicately balanced between sweetness and a light dryness, with peach and vanilla as recurring notes.

    Finish

Long with a gentle, warm close.

    Item no.: 22227865396-33

French oak is rarely The Glenlivet's first choice, but when the distillery reaches for it anyway, the result is worth the 15 year wait.

    Expert Description

Glenlivet 15 Year Old French Oak is a Single Speyside Malt Whisky, matured for 15 years and bottled at 40%.

The whisky belonged to The Glenlivet's former age-statement range, where the 15 year old expression stood out for its use of French oak in maturation, instead of the American oak that otherwise dominates the distillery's range. The French oak lends the whisky a drier, more spiced structure that balances the soft, fruity character The Glenlivet is known for.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Floral and light, with ripe apples and a hint of honey, where the French oak contributes a dry, spiced undertone.

    Palate

Round and balanced with pears and vanilla, where the oak's spice offers a counterpoint to the natural sweetness.

    Finish

Medium length and dry, with a final hint of oak and honey.

    Did You Know?

French oak is used far more often for wine maturation than for whisky, and The Glenlivet's 15 Year Old French Oak is one of the relatively few Scotch single malts to have made this cask type a deliberate stylistic choice.

  • Glenlivet Cellar Collection bottle with gold detailing and vintage-style label
    Item no.: 22227865396-1

Some casks the distillery never forgets. A few remain in the warehouse year after year, while the rest of the vintage is sold and drunk, until they are finally ready to earn a chapter of their own. Glenlivet 1983 is one of those casks.

    Expert Description

Glenlivet 1983/2003 Cellar Collection 20 Year Old is a Single Speyside Malt Whisky, matured in French Limousin oak and bottled at 46%.

The whisky was distilled in 1983 and drawn from the cask again in 2003 as part of The Glenlivet's Cellar Collection, a series in which the distillery's management selected casks that show the house's classic style in a more mature and complex form. French Limousin oak is a deliberate choice, distinct from the American and Spanish oak the whisky is usually matured in, and it lends the bottle a note of spice and a tighter wood character than one usually associates with Glenlivet. The whisky is bottled without chill filtration, preserving its natural oils and structure.

After 20 years, the light, fruity style Glenlivet is known for has had time to develop into something deeper, without losing the freshness that defines the distillery.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Ripe pears and green apples meet honey and vanilla, with a hint of citrus and a light spiced undertone from the Limousin oak.

    Palate

Round and full with tropical fruit, malt and toffee, where the long maturation gives a creamy texture and a subtle balance between sweetness and spice.

    Finish

Long and elegant with oak, dried fruit and a discreet nutty tone.

A first fill sherry cask, meaning a cask that has only previously held sherry and never whisky before this filling, typically gives a far more intense colour and flavour influence than a refill cask, which explains the deep sherry character in this bottling.

  • Glenlivet 21 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail bottle with classic label
    Item no.: 22227865438-339

When the Duke of Gordon pushed a new excise law through in 1823, he forced a young farmer named George Smith to pick a side. That choice created the distillery that has since given its name to the entire valley, and to this bottle.

    Expert Description

Glenlivet 21 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail is a Single Highland Malt Whisky, matured for 21 years and bottled at 40%.

The whisky is distilled at The Glenlivet and bottled by the independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail of Elgin, who since 1895 have specialised in selecting and maturing single malt whisky from Scottish distilleries. The Glenlivet distillery's roots trace back to 1815, when illicit distilling was already taking place in the area, long before George Smith leased land at Upper Drumin Farm in 1817 and obtained the first official licence in 1824. The distillery's success led several neighbours to attach "Glenlivet" to their own names, which in 1880 ended in a court case ruling that only one whisky had the right to be called "The Glenlivet".

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Mature and rounded, with dried fruit and a hint of honey, typical of a long-matured Gordon & MacPhail bottling.

    Palate

Soft and rounded with notes of nuts and a light spiced warmth that builds on the fruity base character.

    Item no.: 22227865396-235

One cask, 564 bottles, four Nordic countries to share them. That is how the story of Coupar Angus begins, a bottle never meant for a large audience, and precisely for that reason so sought after.

    Expert Description

Glenlivet Coupar Angus 15 Year Old Limited Edition is a Single Speyside Malt Whisky, drawn straight from a single sherry cask at cask strength of 57.9%.

The whisky is a distillery bottling, released exclusively to be shared between the four Nordic countries, with only 564 bottles of this specific release reaching Scandinavia. The cask has spent 15 years maturing in American white oak and belongs to what the distillery calls its Nordic Cask series, single casks selected specifically for the Nordic market. The name Coupar Angus refers to a location near the distillery, in keeping with The Glenlivet's tradition of naming single cask releases after places in the area.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Fruity with banana and orange, carried by sharpened pencils, nuts and a hint of clove. With water, more tropical fruit and a touch of dark berries such as blackcurrant and blackberry emerge.

    Did You Know?

The Glenlivet is the second best-selling Scotch single malt in the world and already reached sales of 5.7 million litres in 2010, yet a bottle like this, drawn from a single cask for four countries, is far rarer than most of the distillery's other releases.

  • Glenlivet Founders Reserve bottle with pale golden whisky and green label
    Item no.: 22227865396-225

In 1824, George Smith stood alone with his licence and his defiance of the Scottish farmers who refused to pay tax on their home-distilled whisky. Two centuries later, this bottle still carries his name forward as a tribute to the man who founded The Glenlivet.

    Expert Description

Glenlivet Founders Reserve is a Single Speyside Malt Whisky, bottled at 40% with no age statement.

The whisky launched in 2015 as a tribute to the distillery's founder and was intended to eventually take over from the popular Glenlivet 12 Year Old in the core range. Founders Reserve is matured in a combination of traditional American oak casks and new bourbon casks used only once, the first time The Glenlivet had used this cask type. The combination gives the whisky a creamy, sweet character with pronounced vanilla. On release, Founders Reserve won gold at the 2015 Scotch Whisky Masters, cementing its place in the distillery's range.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Citrus and a hint of orange open things up, carried by a gentle sweetness.

    Palate

Orange peel, pears, peach and blossom meet vanilla in a classic fruity Glenlivet style.

    Finish

Creamy and soft, with a lingering sweetness that rounds off the flavour nicely.

  • Glenlivet Cipher miniature bottle with dark label and code pattern
    Item no.: 22227865396-8000

A code without a solution is just a riddle. The Glenlivet gave its whisky a name that asked more questions than it answered, and let the flavour guess the rest.

    Expert Description

Glenlivet Miniature Cipher Limited Edition is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky in miniature format, bottled at 48%.

Cipher was one of The Glenlivet's limited releases, developed as part of a campaign in which the distillery played with mystery and code themes around the flavour. The 5 cl miniature was intended as an introduction to a more powerful side of the distillery's style than the one found in the core range's 40% expressions, with noticeable weight and spice already on the nose.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Fresh and fruity in typical Glenlivet style, with a sweetness that hints at the power waiting in the palate.

    Palate

Powerful with pronounced spice that builds across the palate.

    Finish

    Expert Description

Glenlivet Miniature Code Limited Edition is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky in miniature format, bottled at 48%.

Code was part of the same limited series as Cipher, in which The Glenlivet played with theme and storytelling around its releases. The 5 cl miniature was intended as a compact introduction to a more intense side of the distillery's range, with a strength and structure well above the core range's 40% expressions.

    Tasting Notes

  • Glenlivet Nordic Single Cask bottle with hillside landscape on the label
    Item no.: 22227865396-240

High above the Glenlivet valley sits a hill that once mattered a great deal to smugglers. Creag An Innean gave them a view over the road south, and an edge over the excisemen.

    Expert Description

Glenlivet Nordic Single Cask 2017 Creag An Innean is a Single Speyside Malt Whisky, drawn from a single Oloroso sherry cask at cask strength of 61.2%.

The whisky is a distillery bottling from The Glenlivet, released specifically for the Scandinavian market, with only 618 bottles from this one Spanish Oloroso sherry cask (cask no. 58013). The name Creag An Innean refers to a hill near the distillery that, in the 19th century, served as a lookout point for whisky smugglers heading south to the market in Dundee, a place from which they could watch for excisemen and plan their routes well in advance.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

A rich aroma of sweet dates and sherry-soaked raisins, carried by spiced oak and liquorice, with caramel, toffee, candied orange peel and a touch of ginger.

    Palate

Spiced cinnamon meets soft raisins and freshly baked ginger biscuits, well balanced against a sweetness reminiscent of strawberry jam.

    Finish

Soft with a discreet, spiced close.

    Did You Know?

The name Creag An Innean is Gaelic and translates roughly as "the crag by the cattle fold", a reminder that the land around The Glenlivet was for centuries shaped as much by farming and cattle as by the illicit distilling that later made the place famous.

    Item no.: 22227865471-303
Glenlossie 10 years Flora & Fauna Single Speyside Malt Whisky 43%

In 1992, the then United Distillers (now called Diageo and the world's largest spirits company) started the Flora & Fauna series, which at the time consisted of 26 different versions of Scotch Single Malt whisky to show the vast differences in Scotland's whisky regions. Bottled at 43% for most of the bottles, but a few were also bottled at Cask Strength, i.e. full cask strength, and some versions also came in wooden boxes.

Just south of Elgin you will find Glenlossie, along with a number of other distilleries that are unknown to most, but all of which produce blended whisky. Glenlossie is a familiar component of Haig's and Dimple. Cornflakes and vanilla on the nose. Slightly subtle with fruity notes, ginger and toast on the palate. White pepper on the finish.
