Frequently Asked Questions about Glenlivet 2006/2022 Signatory Vintage 16 Year Old

What do the numbers 2006/2022 in the name mean?

The numbers show the distillation year and the bottling year. The whisky was distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2022, giving 16 years of maturation.

Is this whisky worth the money?

With only 626 bottles from a single sherry cask, bottled at natural colour and cask strength, it offers an intensity and rarity that stands well apart from The Glenlivet's broad core range.

What does natural colour mean on a whisky?

It means no caramel colouring has been added, so the bottle's colour comes entirely from the cask the whisky matured in.

Should this whisky be diluted with water?

At 60.7%, a few drops of water can usefully open the whisky up and make the sherry-driven aromas easier to pick out.

Which glass suits a cask strength whisky like this best?

A tulip-shaped nosing glass is ideal for concentrating the aromas. See our range of whisky glasses.

How does a Signatory Vintage bottling differ from an official Glenlivet release?

Signatory Vintage selects and bottles single casks independently of the distillery, often at a higher strength and without added colour, giving a rawer, more cask-driven expression than most official releases.
