  • Bottle of Loch Lomond 22 Year Old The Open Course Royal Portrush Whisky
    Item no.: 22227865397-18382025-2

Sometimes a whisky is not just a celebration of a golf tournament, but also a story about the sea. Loch Lomond's 22 Year Old The Open Course Collection takes its final maturation in Spanish oak – a nod to a shipwreck that has rested off Portrush's coast since 1588.

    Expert's Description

Loch Lomond 22 Year Old The Open Course 2025 153rd Royal Portrush is a Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in American oak with a Spanish oak finish and bottled at 46.7%.

The whisky was distilled in 2002 using spirit exclusively from the distillery's unique straight neck pot stills and matured for over 21 years in American oak before receiving a six-month finish in specially toasted virgin Spanish oak from the distillery's own cooperage. The Spanish oak is a tribute to the Spanish Armada ship La Girona, which sank off the coast of Portrush in 1588. Master Blender Michael Henry crafted this expression, with just 3,500 bottles available worldwide. The whisky is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Toasted oak, crisp apple and fresh ginger with soft vanilla and gentle spice.

    Palate

Toffee and ripe pineapple followed by bright lemon zest and warming cinnamon.

    Finish

Long and satisfying, with lingering oak spice, soft smoke and gentle warmth.

    Item no.: 22227865479-1106-197280037

Four years in fresh Pinot Noir casks have laid a layer of dark berry fruit over Longrow's signature smoke - the result gathers two very different worlds into a single glass.

    Expert Description

Longrow 15 Year Old Red Pinot Noir Cask is a Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled at Springbank, matured 11 years in bourbon casks followed by 4 years in fresh Pinot Noir casks, and bottled at 51.4%.

The cask journey gives this Longrow expression a markedly different character to the classic bourbon and sherry-matured releases: the smoke is still there, but it is now joined by a deep, almost wine-like berry sweetness from the red wine casks. A total of 9,400 bottles were released of this limited edition.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Dark forest berries and a hint of red wine meet Longrow's signature smoke and a whisper of salty kelp.

    Item no.: 059763-615-462

Where the Mull of Kintyre runs out into the sea and the water keeps hammering at granite and kelp, the old pot stills still fire up a different kind of Campbeltown whisky. Longrow is the peated sibling of Springbank, and in this 21 year old 2023 release, time has softened the smoke into something almost sweet.

    Expert Description

Longrow 21 Year Old Limited Edition 2023 is a Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled at Springbank, matured in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks and bottled at 46%.

Longrow is the most heavily peated of the three styles produced at Springbank Distillery, alongside the medium-peated Springbank and the unpeated, triple-distilled Hazelburn. The barley is dried over peat smoke for up to 48 hours before it is milled, mashed and fermented using the same old-fashioned methods as the rest of the distillery's output. The 21 year old is the oldest standing release in the Longrow range, and this 2023 vintage draws its character from roughly 65% sherry casks and 35% bourbon casks, a combination that lends the smoke a sweetness rarely found in younger expressions.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

A savoury, slightly tangy note greets you first, followed by hazelnut and blackcurrant. Underneath sits a hint of tanned leather and smoked ham.

    Palate

A syrupy sweetness coats the palate, where cola bottles and cigar-box tobacco play off each other while the smoke stays in the background like a warm, whispering bass note.

    Finish

The finish is pure Longrow: shingle beach, wet flint and seaweed, as if the sea itself washes over the palate one last time.

  • Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask 2023 Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
    Item no.: 059763-615-293

Eighteen years in two types of oak. Macallan's Double Cask philosophy is straightforward: let American and European oak work together to shape the final whisky. Then give it enough time for the two systems to find each other.

    Expert's Description

Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask 2023 is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured for 18 years in sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks, bottled at 43%. The two cask types complement each other: American sherry oak lends citrus, vanilla and butterscotch, while European sherry oak provides gentle spice and depth. The 2023 release is the current vintage of one of Macallan's most classic age-stated expressions.

For many collectors, Macallan 18 Year Old is a benchmark — not because it surprises, but because it consistently delivers on its promise. That's no small thing.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Dried fruit and ginger with toffee and rich orange. Hints of clove and nutmeg.

    Palate

Rich raisins and sultanas with caramel, vanilla and ginger. Balanced by wood spice and zesty citrus.

    Finish

Warm oak spice with ginger that softens into sweet orange. Long and well-integrated.

Medium — Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask in its vintage-limited 2023 release is attracting growing interest on the secondary market as retailer stocks are depleted. The Macallan 18 Year Old series is generally sought-after given the distillery's reputation and the documented complexity that age brings.

    Did you know?

Macallan uses exclusively small copper pot stills — among the smallest in Scotland. They are designed to maximise contact between vapours and the copper surface, contributing to the distillery's characteristically fruity and soft house style.

    Item no.: 22227865467542

Eighteen years is not just a number. It is the point where European and American sherry oak have stopped competing and started speaking the same language. Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask 2024 is the result of that conversation.

    Expert description

Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask 2024 Release is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in sherry seasoned European and American oak casks and bottled at 43%. It combines the depth of European sherry oak — dried fruit, warm spice, dark chocolate — with the fruity and creamy contribution of American oak. The 2024 release is the latest annual release in the 18 Year Old Double Cask line, and with 18 years in cask the complexity and integration of the two cask types reaches its peak in the series.

The bottle works as a gift, as an occasion in itself and as the dram you open when you decide to take your time.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Rich and sweet with orange marmalade, prunes and dried dates. Dark chocolate, cinnamon and nutmeg with a hint of tobacco from European oak.

    Palate

Full and complex — caramelised fruits, fig and a deep sherry sweetness. Warm spice with ginger and black pepper, and a beautiful richness from American oak.

    Finish

Long and warm with dark wood, vanilla fudge and a lingering orange bitterness. The aftertaste carries for a long time.

Medium — Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask is an annual release from one of the world's most respected distilleries. The market for Macallan 18-year-old expressions is stable, and the 2024 release is a natural collector's stop for those following the series.

    Did you know?

The Double Cask series was Macallan's answer to whisky drinkers who found the Triple Cask series too complex. By reducing to two cask types — both sherry seasoned but from two different oak species — Macallan created a series that is easier to understand but still has plenty to discover.

Every year, Macallan selects the casks that have left the strongest mark on their new make. Classic Cut is where the distillery shows its hand — no dilution to comfortable strength, no smoothed-off edges. The 2025 edition is bottled exactly where the casks' character speaks loudest.

    Expert's Description

Macallan Classic Cut 2025 Limited Edition is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks alongside ex-bourbon casks, bottled at 50.6%. The Classic Cut series is Macallan's annual showcase for intensely matured single malt — non-chill filtered, natural colour, bottled at a strength that gives the aromas room to fully unfold. The European sherry casks contribute depth and complex fruit, the American sherry casks add citrus and softness, while the ex-bourbon casks bring an additional layer of complexity to the 2025 expression.

Macallan is one of those distilleries that rarely wavers about what it wants to say. That's reflected in Classic Cut: a bottle that makes a clear statement, rather than simply tasting pleasant.

  • Macallan Concept Number 1 Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky Limited Edition 2018
    Item no.: 059766-785

In 2018, Macallan launched a series that would challenge everything the distillery had done before. Concept Number 1 is the first bottle — inspired by surrealist art and designed to break with received notions of what Macallan whisky can and should taste like.

    Expert description

Macallan Concept Number 1 is a discontinued Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky from 2018, matured equally in sherry seasoned oak casks and ex-bourbon casks, bottled at 40%. The Concept series was Macallan's response to contemporary art's urge to challenge and provoke — the whisky is made to deviate, not to confirm. The maturation time is split equally between the two cask types, and the result is an expression that is lighter and more citrus-oriented than the classic Macallan expressions dominated by sherry casks.

As the first in the series and as a discontinued expression, Concept Number 1 attracts attention from collectors. It was not produced in unlimited quantities, and access to bottles continues to decrease.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Butterscotch toffee with almonds and ginger. Cinnamon and dried fruit, citrus and green banana in the background.

    Palate

Fresh orange and lemon citrus with soft oak spices and ginger. Lively fruit presence with good drive.

The Edition series was Macallan's annual limited edition range, combining the distillery's whisky with creative collaborations. Edition No 6 was created in collaboration with Master of Wood Stuart MacPherson and focused on the role of wood itself in whisky. The cask composition is heavy and sherry-dominated — and that is clear in the glass.

As the closing release in a well-known series, No 6 is particularly sought after by collectors. It is discontinued and no longer in production. Availability continues to fall.

Sultana raisins and walnuts with creamy fudge, ginger and raspberries. Black pepper and cinnamon with sultanas and cocoa.

    Finish

Espresso and sherry oak. It sounds strange until you have it in the glass and realise the two things never should have met in a more logical way. Macallan Harmony Intense Arabica is coffee and whisky, and it works.

    Expert description

Macallan Harmony Collection Intense Arabica is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in sherry casks, including casks previously used to season Arabica coffee beans, and bottled at 44%. It is part of Macallan's Harmony Collection, which explores the interplay between whisky and natural ingredients. Intense Arabica is inspired by the intense espresso experience and uses coffee casks as an additional layer of flavour complexity — the seasoned coffee casks contribute dark coffee and chocolate notes without overwhelming the whisky.

The bottle is packaged in material made from recycled coffee grounds from Arabica production — a design that is sustainable from core to capsule.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Rich espresso and dark chocolate with roasted coffee and sherry sweetness. Dates and dried fruit with vanilla and orange zest in the background.

    Palate

Intense and full — coffee, dark chocolate and raisin. The sherry carries the fruitiness while the coffee note offers a fresh bitterness that balances the sweetness.

    Finish

Long and rich with espresso, creamy chocolate and a flash of orange. The bitterness fades and leaves a warm, lightly sweetened oak finish.

    Expert description

Macallan Quest is a discontinued Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky with no age statement (NAS), bottled at 40%. Quest was launched in 2018 as a replacement for the 1824 Collection in the Travel Retail segment and is matured in four cask types: ex-bourbon casks, sherry seasoned European oak casks, sherry seasoned American oak casks and hogsheads. The combination creates an expression with fruity freshness and lightly spiced sweetness — accessible and well balanced.

Mahogany in the glass. Warm spices in the air. Macallan Sienna carries its colour with pride — not a choice, but a promise of what sherry oak can do when given time to leave its mark.

    Expert description

Macallan Sienna 1824 Series is a discontinued Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured exclusively in Spanish sherry casks — European and American oak — and bottled at 43%. It was part of Macallan's 1824 Collection, which used colour as a guide to intensity: Gold, Amber, Sienna and Ruby. Sienna was the third most intense expression in the series, and its deep terracotta hue reflects a long and richly sherried life in cask.

The collection has been discontinued, making Sienna a sought-after bottle for collectors and Macallan enthusiasts. The powerful sherry-driven flavour notes are undeniable.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Dried fruit and orange marmalade with prunes, dates and dark chocolate. Rich sherry with cinnamon, nutmeg and a hint of smoke.

    Palate

Full and sweet with fig, raisin and caramelised orange. Warm spice with ginger, clove and dry oak.

High — Macallan Sienna is from the discontinued 1824 Series and is no longer available from the distillery. Collectors and Macallan enthusiasts actively seek these bottles, and secondary market prices reflect the series' rarity and prestige.

    Did you know?

The 1824 Series used the colour of the whisky as a sort of menu for intensity — no age statement, just colour as the guide. Sienna represented the second deepest shade in the series, and the colour came entirely from sherry cask maturation, not from colouring.

A British tea company from China meets a Scottish distillery from Speyside. Macallan and Jing Tea set out to find what Phoenix Honey Orchid Oolong and the complexity of sherry casks have in common — and found more than either perhaps expected.

    Expert description

Macallan Harmony Collection Jing is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 43.9%, created in collaboration with Jing Tea. The whisky is inspired by Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea — an oolong tea from the mountain range of the same name in China's Guangdong province. Harmony Collection Jing is the fifth release in the series and combines Macallan's cask maturation with the world of tea sensory.

The result is a whisky with an unexpected floral-fruit complexity — something between the classic depth of sherry and the light, floral character of tea. A whisky that is fun to taste and even more fun to discuss.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Summery peach and apricot with the heady sweetness of floral honey. Tropical fruits, toffee and sweet oak. Red currants and raspberries, followed by dried dates and light orange peel.

First Witch is the opening bottle in the Witches series, part of Livingstone's wider Macbeth Collection, where every release is named after a character from Shakespeare's tragedy and illustrated by British artist Quentin Blake. Morgondagg means morning dew in Swedish, and that is exactly the feeling Mackmyra's master blender Angela D'Orazio chased: the fresh, clear mood of a Swedish forest just before sunrise.

    The Expert's Description

Mackmyra Moment Morgondagg is a Swedish Single Malt Whisky matured in American oak and Swedish berry-wine casks, bottled at 51.1%.

Morgondagg is part of Mackmyra's prestigious Moment series, carefully composed by master blender Angela D'Orazio. It was released in 2015.

The berry-wine casks lend a delicate sweetness and fruitiness that plays well with Mackmyra's clean, malty character in a rounded whole.

    Finish

  • Bottle of Mackmyra Reserve Bertelsen Cask No.1 Swedish Single Malt Whisky
    Item no.: 2222555-7413

In 2004, Mackmyra sold a small cask of raw, unpeated spirit to one of the men behind Whisky.dk. The cask took his name, and almost five years later it became 54 bottles of Swedish whisky that have never been recreated since.

    The Expert's Description

Mackmyra Reserve Bertelsen Cask No.1 is a Swedish Single Malt Whisky matured in a 30-litre Swedish oak cask and bottled at 48.3%.

The story begins in 2004, when Mackmyra sold a small 30-litre cask of Swedish oak filled with unpeated new-make spirit to one of Whisky.dk's owners. The cask took the name Bertelsen Cask No.1 after the buyer, while another Whisky.dk co-owner received his own cask at the same time, since known as Olsen's Barrel.

After nearly five years of maturation in the small cask, the whisky arrived in Denmark as 54 bottles with a deep colour and a surprisingly full flavour for such a young cask. It was distilled on 8 November 2004 and bottled on 6 April 2009.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Clear oak character with vanilla and a touch of honey, supported by a light nutty sweetness.

    Palate

Full-bodied and warm with notes of caramel and toasted oak, where the small cask's intense maturation is clearly felt.

    Finish

Medium length with a dry, woody close and a last trace of sweetness.

    Investment Potential

High. With only 54 bottles from a single small cask, and a story tied directly to Whisky.dk's own past, this is one of the rarest Swedish whiskies ever to have reached shelves in Denmark.

    Did You Know?

Bertelsen Cask No.1 is named after one of Whisky.dk's owners, who personally bought the cask directly from Mackmyra in 2004. It is one of very few bottles in the world to carry the name of a Danish whisky retailer.

  • Makers Mark VIP Bespoke Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky 70 cl 45%
    Item no.: 22227865479-1106-000

A personal label on one of the bourbon world's most recognisable bottles.

    Expert description

Maker's Mark VIP Bespoke Label Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky is the distillery's classic core expression with a custom, personal label, bottled at 45%. Maker's Mark was founded in 1953, when Bill Samuels Sr. bought the old Burks' Distillery in Loretto, Kentucky. His wife Margie created the entire brand identity — the name, the square bottle and the hand-dipped red wax seal, still hand-dipped on every bottle today. Bill Samuels wanted to create a softer bourbon than the typical rye-based styles of the day and replaced rye with red winter wheat in the mash bill. The distillery was listed on the US National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and named a National Historic Landmark in 1980.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

The nose is soft with caramel, vanilla and a hint of fruit.

    Palate

The palate is round and sweet with caramel, vanilla and spiced oak.

    Finish

The finish is medium-length, soft and lightly sweet.
