Isle of Fionia The Admiral's Revenge is an organic Danish Single Malt Whisky bottled at 50.1% as part of the Adventurous Spirit series from Isle of Fionia / Nyborg Distillery. Distilled in 2011 and 2013 and bottled in December 2020 in 65 bottles. The cask journey is three-stage: first maturation on bourbon casks, then a boost on virgin casks of Danish fleet oak from Erholm Estate in Funen, and finally a finish on a 50-litre STR cask. The intense cask character of virgin Danish oak – with powerful tannins and intense oak notes – is central to this whisky.

Tasting notes

Nose

Prominent oak cask notes – tannins, vanilla and powerful oak from the virgin Danish oak. Cherry and ripe red fruits layer beautifully over the intense cask base.

Palate

Powerful and expressive at 50.1% with the virgin Danish oak in the lead. Intense oak notes, vanilla and cherry go hand in hand. The STR finish adds fruity sweetness as a gentle counterpoint. A drop of water is recommended.

Finish

Long with lingering oak tannin and warm, cherry-rich fruit sweetness.
