Isle of Fionia Adventurous Spirit 10 Year is an organic Danish Single Malt Whisky bottled at 59.9% as part of the Adventurous Spirit series from Isle of Fionia / Nyborg Distillery. In 2010 the whisky was placed in a used sherry puncheon that had previously been used at an Islay distillery. It rested there for 10 full years before being bottled in December 2020 in 298 bottles. The combined impression of Oloroso sherry, the Islay-connected cask character and the organic Funen distillate makes this bottling something near unique.

Tasting notes

Nose

Rich and complex with ripe sherry sweetness, dark fruit and oak tannin. Winey depth and a hint of sea salt in the background – a discreet reminder of the cask's Islay connection.

Palate

Full-bodied and intense at 59.9% with 10 years of integration. Sherry sweetness and dark fruit dominate – dried plums and figs – with an elegant oak spiciness. The cask's complexity reveals itself layer by layer.
