Without the use of caramel coloring, but chill-filtered, the whisky appears natural and authentic in its expression.

  For decades, Macallan has been synonymous with sherry casks, and this 18-year-old bottling clearly shows why. In the early 2000s, Macallan ranked among the three most successful Scottish single malt distilleries in terms of sales – surpassed only by Glenlivet and Glenfiddich – underlining the importance of the series for the brand’s global success.

  The Couvreur family imports sherry to their Domaine in Beaune, France. They bottle the sherry and fill the imported sherry Whisky in the fresh casks on the same day. This is called "Fresh Filling" and Couvreur is today the only one practicing this method. Fresh Filling is equivalent to turbocharging the barrel aging, and this is clearly evident in Couvreur's Whisky, where the style can be described as surprisingly full-bodied and rounded, with an incredibly broad flavor palette.
