The 43% strength and the eight year age statement place it in an era when blends were still bottled with a little more body than today.

Armorik Triagoz 2nd Edition Lightly Peated is a Single Breton Malt Whisky from the Warenghem distillery, bottled at 46 percent.

The whisky is made from Breton barley and French wheat and carries a lightly peated character before maturing further on bourbon casks. 2,500 bottles were filled of this release, and the whisky is non-chill filtered, preserving more of the natural oils and aromas from distillation.

Warenghem is based in Lannion in northern Brittany, where the Atlantic humidity leaves its mark on maturation. The Triagoz series is named after a small archipelago off the Breton coast and draws its smoky character from locally sourced peat.

Lakes Distillery Faith Single Malt Whisky is an English single malt whisky matured in Spanish and American oak casks and bottled at 56.5% ABV.

Faith was the first release in The Lakes Distillery's Quatrefoil Collection in 2018, a series named after the distillery's four core values: faith, hope, luck and love. The whisky was first matured in Spanish and American oak casks seasoned with Bourbon and Oloroso sherry, then given a second maturation in PX hogsheads of Spanish and American oak. The result is a complex single malt with comforting notes of dried fruit, vanilla and a hint of cinnamon.

The Quatrefoil Collection is now held in The Lakes Distillery's archive and is no longer part of ongoing production, making Faith a closed release from the distillery's early years on the banks of the River Derwent in Cumbria.

The Glover 4 Year Old Batch 5 by Adelphi is a Fusion of Japanese and Scotch Malt Whisky, bottled at cask strength of 54.7%.

Behind the bottle is the Scottish independent bottler Adelphi, which, together with Fusion Whisky, created The Glover series: a fusion of Scotch malt from Adelphi's own Ardnamurchan Distillery and Japanese malt from Chichibu Distillery. The name honours Thomas Blake Glover, the Briton who played a decisive role in opening Japan to the West.

A raw spirit – unpeated, unaged distillate of certified organic barley, undiluted from the characteristic copper pot stills at Thy Whisky Distillery in Thy. New make is whisky's starting point: the distillate that is then filled into casks and over time becomes whisky. Tasting Destillat 1 is tasting the foundation for what Thy Whisky then builds upon.

For whisky enthusiasts, new make spirit is a unique window into the distillery's soul. Here there is no cask character, no age – only the pure taste of the distillate, the grain and the distillation process.

Bowmore 2002/2020 Adelphi FC Anniversary 17 Year is an Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled as a Single Cask at 60.8%. Distilled at Bowmore on 5 October 2002 and bottled on 12 February 2020 from cask no. 20128 — undiluted and entirely unfiltered. Only 202 bottles. A very specific, very Danish bottling made to celebrate FC Whisky Danmark's 20 years in the business.

Behind Adelphi Selection stand two whisky enthusiasts who over 20 years built what started as a hobby project into an import business with a meticulously curated portfolio. Their approach is uncompromising: of 25 tested casks, Adelphi will typically approve one. That is the standard this bottle was bottled to.

Nose

Rich and concentrated. Darkly caramelised fruit, orange peel and a powerful gust of Islay's maritime smoke — salt, seaweed and coastal air mingle with fat vanilla and warm spice.

Palate

Powerful at 60.8% — best with a drop of water, where dark fruits open up: figs, raisins and a round sweetness. Bowmore's characteristic peat runs all the way through.

Finish

Long and warming. Oak, salt and a gentle bitterness. The smoke holds on for a dry, mineral close.

Kilchoman Machir Bay 20cl is an Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 46 %.

The whisky is exactly the same as in the full 70cl bottle — a blend of 3, 4 and 5 year old bourbon casks, where the 4 year old casks receive a finishing period of around eight weeks in sherry casks. The smaller bottle makes it ideal as an introduction, a travel format, or a small, natural gift idea.

Machir Bay best represents Kilchoman's style: fresh, citrus-tinged peat smoke carried on Islay's coastal air, combined with sweetness and spice from the sherry casks — all in a size that's easy to carry.

WhistlePig Farmstock Batch 001 Rye Whiskey is a blend of rye whiskey from different ageing periods, bottled at 43%. WhistlePig was founded by Dave Pickerell, former master distiller at Maker's Mark and often called the 'godfather of craft distilling', who bought an old dairy farm in Shoreham, Vermont, in 2007. Pickerell took a bold gamble by investing in 10-year-old rye whiskey from an undisclosed Canadian distillery, made from 100% rye, at a time when rye whiskey had not yet been rediscovered by the American market. The distillery officially opened in 2015 in a renovated 150-year-old barn and is today the world's most awarded producer of rye whiskey.
