  • Talisker 10 Year Old bottle against a maritime cliff backdrop
    Item no.: 22227865404-3

Not many whiskies can taste of the sea without ever having sat in it. Talisker 10 Year Old has made that its trademark for decades, and it is still the bottle most people picture the moment someone says "Talisker".

    Expert Description

Talisker 10 Year Old is an Isle of Skye Single Malt Scotch Whisky, matured in oak casks and bottled at 45.8%. It is the distillery's flagship and one of the original six Classic Malts, a series UDV (now Diageo) put together in 1988 to showcase Scotland's different regional styles.

The colour is a shining gold, and the whisky carries a depth and intensity that has made it a standing reference for what an island whisky from Skye should taste like. Since 2021 the bottle comes in packaging where both the glass and the box are 99.8% recyclable.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

The nose offers smoke, sea salt and citrus, with a sweetness that keeps the saltiness in check. There's also a hint of black pepper hinting at the bite to come.

    Palate

The palate is powerful and warming, with smoke, sea salt and citrus up front, backed by a pleasant sweetness. The pepper appears along the way, giving the whisky its signature bite.

    Finish

The finish is intense and fairly long, with a distinct touch of pepper that lingers well after the last sip.

  • Talisker Storm bottle with an older label against a stormy sea motif
    Item no.: 22227865404-6

The name Storm was not chosen at random. Skye takes a battering from westerly wind and rain for much of the year, and this particular bottle still carries the older label from when it first landed on Danish shelves.

Note: This bottle carries an older label version of Talisker Storm, from before the current design was introduced.

    Expert Description

Talisker Storm is a no-age-statement Isle of Skye Single Malt Scotch Whisky, matured in selected refill and toasted American oak casks and bottled at 45.8%. It was developed as a bolder, more maritime sibling to the 10 Year Old.

This particular bottle carries the older label, but the liquid inside is identical to the Storm sold today - a whisky built to weather both salt water and rough weather, figuratively speaking.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

The nose offers salt, lime and orange peel with a fresh fruitiness, and the smoke sits as a quiet background note rather than up front.

    Palate

The palate carries notes of spice and cream toffee, while the smoke stays discreet in the background and lets the sweetness speak first.

    Finish

The finish is medium length with a warm, lightly salty close and a trace of smoke drifting quietly away.

There's something about a whisky named after bad weather that suits a dark winter evening perfectly. Talisker Storm is the distillery's answer to how it feels to stand on Skye's coastline when the wind really picks up.

    Expert Description

Talisker Storm is a no-age-statement Isle of Skye Single Malt Scotch Whisky, matured in selected refill and toasted American oak casks and bottled at 45.8%. It is built to be a bolder, more direct experience than the 10 Year Old, without pinning the liquid to a fixed age.

This bottle carries the current design the distillery has used since a packaging update, and the liquid fully lives up to the maritime, peppery style Talisker is known for.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

The nose offers salt, lime and orange peel, backed by a pleasant fruitiness and a whisper of smoke sitting deep in the background.

    Palate

The palate carries a clear streak of spice and cream toffee, while the smoke stays discreet and leaves room for the sweetness.

    Item no.: 222222555546-6665-2

Blackpitts is the Dublin neighbourhood where the Teeling family once distilled whiskey back in the 1800s. Big Smoke Cask Strength revives the smoky side of that legacy at full cask strength.

    Expert Review

Teeling Blackpitts Big Smoke Cask Strength is a Peated Irish Single Malt Whiskey matured in Bourbon and Sauternes casks, bottled at 56.5%.

The whiskey is double distilled from heavily peated malt, a style rarely associated with Irish whiskey, and bottled at cask strength with no water added. The combination of peated malt and sweet French Sauternes casks creates a fully smoky whiskey experience, where the concentrated strength brings out both the smoke and the sweetness.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Bold smoke and peat, balanced by a sweet fruitiness from the Sauternes cask.

    Expert description

The Antiquary 15 Year Old is a Blended Scotch Whisky at 43%, combining malt and grain whisky matured for 15 years, including in casks that previously held fine Bordeaux red wine.

The brand was founded in 1857 by the Hardie family and named after Sir Walter Scott's 1816 novel "The Antiquary". Since 1996, The Antiquary has been owned by Tomatin Distillery Co, which relaunched the brand in 2024 with a refreshed range, including this 15 year old expression.

The whisky is unpeated and shows an unusually soft, light flavour profile, where the wine casks lend a light fruity sweetness and complexity to the classic blend.

With no water between itself and the cask, this edition of the Glasgow spirit stands razor-sharp and unfiltered, ready to be tamed with a few drops of water.

    Expert description

The Epicurean Glasgow Edition is a Lowland Blended Malt Scotch Whisky from Douglas Laing, bottled in limited numbers and at full cask strength, 56.8% ABV, without dilution before bottling.

Like the house's other Epicurean expressions, this is a tribute to Glasgow and built on a marriage of Single Malts from several Lowland distilleries, but here without the smoothing a normal reduction to drinking strength would provide.

Due to the high strength, we recommend adding a few drops of water, which opens up the characteristic citrus and caramel notes Epicurean is known for.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Intense citrus peel, warm caramel and a tangy hint of green apple, concentrated by the high strength.

A honeycomb on the label, a hint of honey in the glass. The Hive is Wemyss Malts' sweet tribute to everything a Blended Malt can be when the family behind the bottle thinks more like wine merchants than traditional whisky blenders.

    Expert description

The Hive Small Batch is a Blended Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 46% ABV by Wemyss Malts, assembled from carefully selected casks sourced from several Scottish distilleries.

The Wemyss family, whose name derives from the Gaelic word for "caves," has a background in wine merchanting and approaches whisky the way a negociant approaches wine: by seeking out and selecting the finest casks rather than focusing on a single distillery profile. The Hive is named for its character rather than its origin, and the bee on the label reflects that sweet, honeyed style.

This Small Batch release brings together a smaller number of carefully chosen casks, ensuring a consistent yet still hand-crafted character from batch to batch.

    Tasting notes

    Expert description

The Hive is a Blended Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 46% ABV by Wemyss Malts, assembled from selected casks sourced from several Scottish distilleries.

Wemyss Malts runs its business on a philosophy borrowed from the wine trade: the family acts as a negociant, seeking out the finest single casks from across Scotland, which are then tasted and selected by a nosing panel chaired by whisky writer Charlie Maclean. The casks are not named after the distillery but after their characteristic flavour profile, which is how The Hive name became synonymous with a soft, honeyed style.

This "Old version" represents an earlier chapter in The Hive's history, carrying a label design different from what is found on today's shelves.

Sometimes the simplest expression is also the most honest. The Original One is Woodrow's of Edinburgh's answer to what a Highland single malt tastes like when everything extra is stripped away and the grain, the oak and the time are left to speak for themselves.

    Expert description

The Original One from The Jane Street Collection is a Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 48.5% ABV by independent bottler Woodrow's of Edinburgh.

Woodrow's of Edinburgh, founded in 2020 by brothers Mark and Chris Watt in Leith, works from a philosophy of transparency and flavour-led releases. The Jane Street Collection is built around clear sensory themes, and The Original One is the collection's most straightforward expression: an honest picture of Highland style without additional cask finishing.

The whisky is matured in bourbon casks, allowing the spirit's own fruitiness and malt character to shine rather than heavy cask influence.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Green apples and pear meet a mild malt profile, lifted by soft vanilla and a touch of honey.

Soft and slightly oily, with apple, pear and a hint of peach, while the malt provides structure and a subtle spiced edge.

    Finish

Dark fruit, deep sherry and a whisky unafraid to show its strength. The Sherried One is Woodrow's of Edinburgh's tribute to the classic sherry cask, cultivated to its full potential without losing its balance.

    Expert description

The Sherried One from The Jane Street Collection is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 48.5% ABV by independent bottler Woodrow's of Edinburgh.

Where The Original One represents the collection's clean baseline, The Sherried One explores the opposite extreme: the deep, dark and fruit-laden character of the sherry cask. Woodrow's is known for working with small, carefully selected batches, and this release is a clear example of that approach, with cask quality at its core.

The whisky is matured in sherry casks, which have contributed both colour and a deep concentration of dried fruit and spice to the finished spirit.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Raisins, prunes and figs mingle with warm spices, cocoa and a light nutty depth.

    Palate

Rich and silky, dominated by dried fruit, caramel and dark chocolate, with a fine depth of cinnamon and nutmeg.

    Expert description

The Smokey One from The Jane Street Collection is an Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 48.5% ABV by independent bottler Woodrow's of Edinburgh.

The whisky comes from an undisclosed Islay distillery, chosen for its ability to deliver the classic combination of sea salt, peat smoke and deep malt richness. • The Story of The Spaniard Compass Box Blended Malt Whisky
    Item no.: 22227865475-8267

A bar in New York, a glass created for the occasion, and a story that grew too good to tell only once. The Story of The Spaniard is Compass Box's tribute to Spanish cask tradition, told by John Glaser himself.

    Expert description

The Story of The Spaniard is a Blended Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 43% ABV by independent whisky merchant Compass Box, founded by American John Glaser.

The whisky originates from a bespoke bottling Compass Box once created for a cocktail bar named The Spaniard in New York. John Glaser and his team later decided to explore the sherry-influenced style further and make it a permanent part of the range under the name The Story of The Spaniard, first released in 2018.

The whisky is a blend of Highland and Speyside malt whisky, of which a significant portion, around 48%, is matured in used sherry casks, while a further 25% has aged in casks that previously held Spanish red wine. The rest of the blend contributes lighter, fruitier notes that balance the heavier, dark cask influence.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Baked pear in red wine meets dark berries and a hint of spiced citrus peel.

    Palate

Full, soft and tangy with juicy poached pears, citrus peel and warm spice.

    Finish

  • Vindblæst White Dog raw spirit miniature bottles from Søgaard Destilleri
    Item no.: 2222786538555-774412

Before the deep complexity of whisky emerges, there is a moment of pure, clear distillate. Vindblæst White Dog captures that moment — the raw spirit as it leaves the copper still, before casks have had any say.

    Expert description

Vindblæst White Dog Søgaard Destilleri Limited Edition Danish Raw Spirit is a set of 4x5 cl unaged raw spirit from Søgaard Destilleri's Vindblæst production in Aalborg. Each small bottle reflects the terroir from one of the four North Jutland island partners — Livø, Læsø, Egholm, and Fur — all growing the organic malting barley variety Odyssey, which forms the basis of the Vindblæst whisky series. The raw spirit is clear and uncoloured, as it has not been cask-matured. It is unpeated, and the flavour reflects the pure distilled malt without any oak influence. A White Dog set offers a unique opportunity to understand the starting point of a whisky's journey — and to compare terroir influence at the raw spirit stage.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Fresh and grain-forward with clear sweet malt from the Odyssey barley. Lightly floral with young herbal notes and a clean, clear spirit character — untouched by wood and time.

    Palate

Sweet grain and fresh malt dominate. Clean and direct with gentle spice and a natural sweetness from the unaged barley distillate. Terroir differences from the four islands manifest as subtle variations in grain richness and freshness.

    Finish

Short and fresh with clean malt and gentle grain warmth. No cask notes — pure and honest raw spirit as it is.
