This year marks 150 years since the only major golf tournament outside the USA, the The Open Championship, was played for the first time. Every year the tournament is played on the best golf courses in England, Northern Ireland and Scotland. This year, the playoff will be played at the mother of all golf courses - St. Andrews in Scotland.The Open Special Edition 2022 has been created in collaboration with former golfer Colin Montgomerie to celebrate the 150th anniversary of St. Andrews Golf Course. The whisky is aged in American oak casks followed by a lovely long finish in Claret red wine casks. This gives a unique character with lots of sweet red fruit, creamy fudge sweetness and oak spice. Old Perth is old-school blended whisky. The name refers to the fact that the city of Perth was originally the epicenter of blended whisky. Old Perth was a blend created in 1908 as a tribute to the city. Its popularity is likely due to a large proportion of sherry-stocked whisky. The name was forgotten when the many producers moved out of the city. Today, it is the famous Morrison whisky family that carries on the name and history. They have created a range of whiskies that are blended in Perth - from specially selected single malt whiskies. The whiskies all come from the Glenlivet region of Speyside and are aged exclusively in sherry casks.
