From Lagg Distillery comes the new 2023 Release called Lagg Kilmory, this smoky version of the Single Isle of Arran Malt Whisky is bottled at 46% and has been aged in used first-fill bourbon barrels, which gives a lovely flavor and mix of vanilla and smoke.

The distillery, located on the southern tip of the island Arran, is equipped with a 4-ton mash tun and four 20,000-liter washbacks, each made from Oregon Pine. One set of distillation boilers is installed. A 10,000 liter wash still and a 7,000 liter spirit still. However, the production area is designed so that it can be expanded with 4 additional washbacks and another set of boilers if required at a later date. In conjunction with the establishment of the distillery, Graham Omand was appointed Distillery Manager. Graham has worked at the Lochranza distillery for almost 10 years at Arran, so he is well acquainted with both colleagues and company policies.

The palate offers peated smoke and stewed dark fruit side by side, with baking spices and a touch of dark chocolate tying the two sides together.
Finish
The finish is long and smoky, with a sweet tail of sherry that slowly gives way to ash.

Old Perth is old-school blended whisky. The name refers to the fact that the city of Perth was originally the epicenter of blended whisky. Old Perth was a blend created in 1908 as a tribute to the city. Its popularity is likely due to a large proportion of sherry-stocked whisky. The name was forgotten when the many producers moved out of the city. Today, it is the famous Morrison whisky family that carries on the name and history. They have created a range of whiskies that are blended in Perth - from specially selected single malt whiskies. The whiskies all come from the Glenlivet region of Speyside and are aged exclusively in sherry casks. Old Perth Cask Strength is bottled at full cask strength so as not to interfere with the rich aroma.

The taste is robust and earthy with distinct notes of ginger and cinnamon. Old Perth Cask Strength is not colored and is not chill filtered. Today, the Morrison family is led by Jamie and Brian Morrison. For generations, the family has worked with whisky in every conceivable way - in retail and wholesale sales, as blenders and bottlers, and not least as distillers.
