Kilchoman Machir Bay Single Islay Malt Whisky 46%
Machir Bay is Kilchoman’s flagship release, named after the iconic beach close to the distillery on Islay. As the distillery’s most recognized whisky, it represents the house style: fresh, smoky, and well-balanced. Kilchoman was founded in 2005 as a farm distillery, where barley is grown, floor-malted, distilled, matured, and bottled on site – a philosophy known as barley-to-bottle.
Distillery: Kilchoman, Islay
Type: Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Maturation: Primarily ex-bourbon casks from Buffalo Trace with a finish in Oloroso sherry casks

Machir Bay is renowned for its harmony between Islay’s peat smoke and fruity freshness. It is lighter and more approachable than some of the heavier Islay expressions, yet still delivers clear smoke and maritime character. The combination of bourbon and sherry casks provides both sweetness and spice, making it a whisky that appeals to both newcomers and seasoned Islay enthusiasts.
