  • Glen Scotia Harbour Classic bottle with pale golden whisky
    Item no.: 222111-44423

The harbour sits a couple of hundred metres from the distillery, and the name is not chosen at random. This is the most straightforward Glen Scotia in the range — 40%, lightly peated, and with the salt of Campbeltown Loch as the thing you remember afterwards.

    The expert's description

Glen Scotia Harbour Classic is a lightly peated Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in 1st fill bourbon casks and bottled at 40%.

The bottling works as the entry point to the distillery range. 1st fill bourbon casks lay vanilla and bright fruit in, and the light peating gives a smoke note that sits as a breath rather than a layer. The 40% makes the whisky easy to drink, but it also makes it less concentrated than the rest of the line-up.

Glen Scotia is a small distillery with only one pair of pot stills. Capacity is modest by modern standards, so the entire output has to cover the standard range, the festival bottles and the casks sold on to independent bottlers.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Briny sea spray and sea breeze first, with floral violet notes and soft vanilla behind.

    Palate

Ripe peach and crisp apple, with chewy fudge and a bright sweetness. The peat arrives late and settles as a dry, tangy edge beneath the fruit.

    Finish

Short to medium. Tangy peat and maritime smoke that clears cleanly without hanging on.

The world's first corn whisky meets the world's first corn liqueur in a Mexican gift set.

    Expert description

Bodega Abasolo Gift Set includes Bodega Abasolo El Whisky de México, the world's first and only corn whisky distilled from 100% Mexican heirloom corn, along with Nixta Licor de Elote, the world's first corn liqueur. Both products are made by Destilería y Bodega Abasolo in Jilotepec, Mexico, the first distillery dedicated entirely to Mexican whisky, completed in 2019. The whisky uses Cacahuazintle corn, which undergoes nixtamalization — a 4,000-year-old Mesoamerican technique in which corn is cooked with lime to release flavour and nutrients. The Nixta liqueur is made by macerating a blend of roasted and raw corn in unaged Abasolo spirit, combined with a 'base madre' of nixtamalized corn, water and piloncillo cane sugar.

Saudade is the Portuguese word for a melancholic longing for something you may never have had – or will never have again. Isle of Fionia Saudade 12 Year is a Danish single malt that has had time to become something. Twelve years. That shows.

    Expert description

Isle of Fionia Saudade 12 Year is an organic Danish Single Malt Whisky bottled at 52% as part of the Adventurous Spirit series from Isle of Fionia / Nyborg Distillery. Tasting notes

    Nose

Mature and aged with a complexity that takes time to unfold. Dark fruit, oak and a layer of warm vanilla and dry nougat. A wistfully soft character.

    Palate

    Item no.: 059763-615-748

One cask, one bottling, one country. This 8 year old single cask was filled into a single bourbon barrel in December 2015 and bottled eight years later exclusively for the Danish market — a whisky you won't find matched anywhere else.

    Expert's description

Kilchoman 2015/2023 Single Cask Release is an Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 8 years old from a single bourbon cask and bottled at cask strength, 57.9 %.

The whisky comes from bourbon cask number 2015/956, distilled on 1 December 2015 and bottled on 4 December 2023 — exactly eight years later. Because it comes from a single cask alone, every bottle is part of an irreversibly limited selection: only 255 bottles exist in total, bottled exclusively for Denmark.

With no water added and at full cask strength, this single cask shows Kilchoman's character completely unfiltered — intense, powerful and carrying a distinct signature from the individual cask that no other bottling can replicate.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Fresh vanilla and citrus peel meet a powerful, almost crisp peat smoke, with a hint of green apple and freshly cut wood.

    Palate

Intense and full at cask strength — sweet vanilla and honey cut through by a distinct, peppery smoke and a touch of sea salt.

    Finish

Long and powerful, with lingering smoke and a dry, lightly spiced close that reminds you how young and energetic the spirit still is despite the eight years.

    Expert description

Medley Old Version Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is an American bourbon from Kentucky, bottled at 43%. The Medley family has distilled whiskey since 1800, when John Medley IV moved his family from Maryland to Washington, Kentucky. The family tradition continued across generations, and in 1901 George Medley relocated the distillery to Owensboro for better access to river shipping on the Ohio River. After Prohibition was repealed in 1933, Thomas Aquinas Medley began production of a new bourbon, and in 1940 five Medley brothers founded the Medley Distilling Company. The Medley Bros. label was originally created in the 1940s as the brothers' shared tribute to the family's whiskey heritage, and has since been revived by the seventh and eighth generations of the family.

    Expert description

This 175 cl bottle is an older label edition of Jim Beam White Label Sour Mash Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, bottled at 40%. The Jim Beam distillery in Clermont, Kentucky, dates back to 1795, when Jacob Beam sold his first barrel of bourbon under the name "Old Jake Beam". Expert description

Annandale Man O'Sword Cask 342 Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a single-cask bottling from Annandale Distillery, matured in cask no. 342, bottled at cask strength, 61 %. Annandale Distillery was founded in 1836 as one of Scotland's first legal distilleries, but closed in 1918 while owned by none other than Johnnie Walker. The distillery lay derelict for nearly a century, until Professor David Thomson and Teresa Church read about it in the book 'Scotch Missed: Lost Distilleries of Scotland', tracked down the ruined building, bought the site in 2007 and reopened the distillery in 2014 after extensive restoration. The distillery produces two main expressions: the unpeated Man O'Words and the peated Man O'Sword, continuing the distillery's historic tradition of smoky whisky.

  • Annandale Man O' Words Cask 397 bottle from a Fino sherry cask, Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
    Item no.: 059763-615-733

Fino is the sherry nobody uses for whisky. It is pale, bone dry and matured under a living film of yeast. Putting a young, fruity Lowland malt into a cask like that is either reckless or precise. Here it is the latter.

    The Expert's Description

Annandale Man O' Words Cask 397 is a Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in an ex-Fino Sherry Butt and bottled at 60.4% cask strength. The cask was filled in 2018 and emptied in 2023, giving around five years.

Man O' Words is the distillery's unpeated range, named after Robert Burns. Fino is the driest and palest of the sherry styles, so an ex-Fino cask delivers something entirely different from the classic Oloroso: no raisins and dark fruit, but salted almonds, green apple acidity and a dry, almost bakery-like nuttiness.

That suits Annandale’s spirit unusually well, being fresh and fruit-driven already. Instead of laying a heavy coat of fruit over the top, the Fino cask tightens the whisky and gives it more edge. The whisky is non-chill filtered.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Green apple and pear first, then salted almonds and a dry yeasty note that is the Fino cask’s fingerprint. Citrus peel and something close to white bread sit at the back.

    Palate

Dry and taut to begin, unusual for a whisky from a sherry cask. Apple acidity and almond open, then a mild spiced warmth and a light sweetness from the spirit itself. The 60.4% brings power, yet the whisky stays lean rather than full.

    Finish

Medium length and dry. Nuts, green fruit and a saline mineral note that lingers. No sweetness at the close.

    Did You Know?

Fino matures under flor, a living veil of yeast that settles like a blanket over the wine in the cask and keeps it from meeting the air. That is why Fino stays pale and dry, where Oloroso, matured without flor, turns dark and nutty. That difference carries straight into the whisky.

Wheat instead of rye. That is the core of Knaplund's take on a Wheated Straight Bourbon — softer, rounder, with Danish character underneath.

    Expert description

Knaplund 5 Year Wheated Straight Bourbon Limited Edition is a Danish Whiskey inspired by the bourbon tradition, bottled at 50% and aged for 5 years. • Bottle of Edradour 25 yo Batch No. 1 Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
    Item no.: 059763-615-728

25 years is a long time for a single malt — long enough that a whisky either loses itself in the oak or finds its most complete form. Batch No. 1 is a case for the latter.

    The expert's description

Edradour 25 years old Batch No. 1 is a Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in 1st fill sherry butts and bottled at 54.6%.

As the first batch in this 25-year-old series, the whisky represents the culmination of Edradour's long sherry maturation style. The entire maturation period took place in 1st fill sherry butts, giving the whisky a deep, dark colour and a rich, complex flavour profile with layers of dried fruit and spice that only come with time. Throughout its long history, the distillery has survived both good times and bad — from the early heyday of blended Scotch to periods of shifting ownership — and is today back in independent Scottish hands under Signatory Vintage.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Dark chocolate, raisin and toasted walnut, with a deep, sherry-dark sweetness and a hint of old oak.

    Palate

Full-bodied and complex with fig, date and a warm spiciness of clove and cinnamon, held up by a firm, well-established malt.

    Finish

Very long with lingering dark fruit, leather and a dry, elegant finish.

    Investment potential

This release is assessed to have high investment potential, largely due to 25 years of maturation, the first batch in the series and maturation exclusively on 1st fill sherry butts. This is a general assessment based on available information about rarity and demand, not a guarantee of future value growth.

    Expert description

Craigellachie 2012/2024 Signatory Vintage 11 years Edition No. 5 is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky bottled at 48.2%.

The release belongs to Signatory's Small Batch range, in which several casks are married into one expression rather than bottled individually. That gives more balance and a steadier character without the distillery style disappearing. Craigellachie still condenses in worm tubs and makes a heavy, almost meaty spirit, and eleven years is enough to round the edges without the cask starting to take over.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Young and fresh. Green apple, pear and pineapple, with cereal, vanilla and a dry mineral note underneath.

    Palate

Oily and spiced. Malt, citrus and baked fruit, with the flinty edge from the worm tubs as a dry undercurrent. The 48.2% gives good body without turning hard.

New oak is a risky thing to hand a light Lowland malt. Use too much and the spirit vanishes into sawdust. Liora finds the spot where oak adds spice instead of taking over.

    Expert description

Bladnoch Liora is a Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in Ex-Bourbon and New Oak and bottled at 52.2% without chill filtration and without added colour.

The combination of refill bourbon casks and new American oak is chosen to set the distillery's fresh apple character against toasted caramel and spice. New oak gives up considerably more tannin and vanillin than a refill cask, which is why it is usually used in smaller proportions.

Liora belongs to Bladnoch's named series, where the age statement is dropped in favour of the cask make-up. The high bottling strength is part of the concept and makes the whisky more concentrated than the Lowland style normally is.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Fresh cut apples with toasted caramel and a floral note on top.

    Palate

Caramelised apples with spice and freshly cut oak. The strength carries everything and gives the whisky a weight unusual for the region.

After decades outside the family's hands, the brand was acquired by Luxco in 1993 and transferred to Limestone Branch Distillery in 2015 — a distillery founded in 2010 by brothers Stephen and Paul Beam, who as seventh-generation members of the Beam and Dant families can trace their distilling heritage back to their great-great-uncle Jacob Beam, who distilled bourbon as early as 1794.

  • GlenAllachie 18 Year Old New Edition Single Malt Whisky
    Item no.: 222345-463

Eighteen is the age at which a whisky either finds its shape or loses itself in too much wood. GlenAllachie 18 Year Old New Edition belongs firmly in the first camp: a whisky in which bourbon and sherry casks have been allowed to work together for close to two decades, without either ever drowning out the other.

    Expert's description

GlenAllachie 18 Year Old New Edition Single Speyside Malt Whisky is matured in a combination of Bourbon, PX and Oloroso Sherry casks and bottled at 46% ABV.

The blend of cask types is Billy Walker's signature: the bourbon casks contribute lightness and sweetness, while the PX and Oloroso Sherry casks add depth and spiced complexity. The result is an 18 year old that shows just how much balance can be achieved when cask selection is treated as a craft rather than a formula.

The whisky is both non-chill filtered and free of added colour, and the eighteen years in wood are clearly felt in both aroma and finish.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Ripe pears and honey meet warm spice and a hint of dark chocolate, underpinned by a light nuttiness from the bourbon casks.

    Palate

Sherry sweetness and dried apricot weave together with cinnamon, nutmeg and a touch of toasted almond.

    Finish

Long and warm, with a lingering spiced sweetness and a slightly bitter chocolate note that rounds the experience off beautifully.

Medium. An 18 year old core release with a carefully considered cask mix is a whisky that builds its reputation over time rather than through one-off rarity - and with GlenAllachie's rising standing under Billy Walker, it is a solid addition to any collection of age-stated Speyside whisky.

    Did you know?

The New Edition designation reflects the fact that GlenAllachie continuously fine-tunes the cask composition of its core releases as new vintages and cask combinations become available - so while the name stays the same, the style evolves from release to release.

    Item no.: 222344-7521

There is a reason 15 year old GlenAllachie keeps coming up when collectors talk about sherry-matured Speyside whisky done right. The deep reddish-brown colour hints at what is coming: a whisky shaped by PX and Oloroso Sherry casks, where sweetness and spice settle into an unhurried, well-balanced whole.

    Expert's description

GlenAllachie 15 Year Old Single Speyside Malt Whisky is matured in a combination of PX and Oloroso Sherry casks and bottled at 46% ABV.

Fifteen years on sherry gives the whisky its deep reddish-brown colour and a character with clear roots in traditional Spanish-influenced maturation. Under Billy Walker's stewardship, GlenAllachie's cask programme has become one of the most talked-about in Speyside, and this 15 year old is one of the clearest examples of what carefully selected sherry casks can bring to a distillate over time.

The whisky is both non-chill filtered and free of added colour, allowing the full influence of the sherry casks to come through.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Fudge and Christmas spice wrap around a sweetness of raisin, giving the aroma a warm, homely character.

    Palate

Sherry sweetness weaves together with Christmas spice, ripe banana and orange peel, before a dark, slightly bitter chocolate emerges.

    Finish

Softly fading with a lingering spiced sweetness, where dark chocolate and the depth of the sherry linger longest.

Sherry · Christmas spice · Banana · Orange peel · Dark chocolate

    Investment potential

Medium. A well-established 15 year old backed by a solid sherry programme is rarely a passing fad - GlenAllachie's rising reputation under Billy Walker makes this age-stated core release a steady addition to any collection.

    Did you know?

PX and Oloroso Sherry casks are often treated differently within GlenAllachie's cask stock - some casks are reused several times, while others hold only a single fill of whisky before being retired. This 15 year old is composed of a carefully selected combination of both types to achieve its particular depth.

  • GlenAllachie 12 Year Old New Edition – sherry sweetness from Speyside
    Item no.: 2222786-2254

Some whiskies play it safe, and then there is this 12 year old from GlenAllachie, where sherry casks take the lead from the first drop to the last. Cream toffees and honey meet roasted coffee, and throughout you can feel the distillery's devotion to slow, patient maturation.

    Expert's description

GlenAllachie 12 Year Old New Edition is a Single Speyside Malt Whisky matured predominantly in sherry casks, bottled at 46% ABV. The New Edition expression builds on the distillery's core profile, where PX and Oloroso sherry casks are complemented by Virgin Oak casks that add extra vanilla and spice beneath the sherry sweetness.

The result is a dram that leans into classic sherried Speysiders, while carrying a clear GlenAllachie signature of nutty and banana-like tones that tie the whole thing together.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Cream toffees and honey settle like a blanket, while raisins and roasted coffee add depth to the aroma.

    Palate

Honey and marzipan meet ripe bananas in a mouthfeel that is sweet without tipping into cloying.

    Finish

Fudge and raisins linger alongside a final touch of coffee.
