The Whistler is named after Pat Cooney, whose whistling can be heard through Boann Distillery, founded by the Cooney family in 2015 in the Boyne Valley, County Louth — the first distillery in the Drogheda area in over 160 years. The family has over 40 years of experience in the Irish drinks industry through their bottling company Gleeson Group.
