  • Bottle of Kilchoman 100% Islay 4th Release Single Farm Single Malt Whisky
    Item no.: 22227865411-25

Most whisky travels through several hands before it reaches the glass. The 100% Islay series does the opposite: grain, malting, distilling, maturing and bottling all happen within the same patch of land. 4th Release is one of the early chapters in that story.

    Expert's description

Kilchoman 100% Islay 4th Release is an Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, at least 5 years old and bottled at 50 %.

The 100% Islay series is unique even by Kilchoman's own standards: the barley is grown on the distillery's own land, floor malted on site, and distilled, matured and bottled without ever leaving the farm. That makes the series a genuine "Single Farm Single Malt" — a rarity in the whisky world as a whole. 4th Release is built from selected 5 year old first fill and refill bourbon casks from the distillery's own warehouse.

Because the barley here is more lightly peated than the malt Kilchoman normally buys in for its other releases, the 100% Islay series carries a different, more floral and delicate character than, say, Machir Bay — the smoke is still there, but it acts more as an undercurrent than a lead role.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Delicate and floral, with soft fruit notes and pear drops that slowly give way to a light peat smoke.

    Palate

Round and lightly sweet, where the peat smoke unfolds on the tongue and leaves a long, sweet finish with soft smoky tones.

    Finish

Long and lingering, with a gentle smoke that never becomes dominant.

    Item no.: 22227865411-414

One field, one distillery, one whisky. 100% Islay 5th Release is another chapter in Kilchoman's most particular project — proof that terroir isn't just a word for wine.

    Expert's description

Kilchoman 100% Islay 5th Release is an Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, at least 5 years old and bottled at 50 %.

The 100% Islay series differs from every other Kilchoman release in that the entire process — from the barley growing on the distillery's own land, through floor malting and distilling, to maturing and bottling — happens in one and the same place. 5th Release continues that story with selected 5 year old first fill and refill bourbon casks.

Because the barley used is home-grown and more lightly peated than the bought-in malt Kilchoman otherwise uses, the series carries a more delicate, floral character, where the smoke acts as a gentle layer rather than a dominant force.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Soft fruit notes and pear drops meet a light, delicate peat smoke, with a hint of honey.

    Palate

Sweet and round, where the peat smoke slowly unfolds and leaves a warm, gentle finish.

  • Bottle of Kilchoman 2006 Vintage Release Islay Single Malt Whisky
    Item no.: 22227865411-12

Five years is not much for a whisky, but for Kilchoman in 2011 it was a milestone. 2006 Vintage Release was one of the very first times the distillery dared to call its spirit a proper 5 year old whisky.

    Expert's description

Kilchoman 2006 Vintage Release is an Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 5 years old and bottled at 46 %.

The whisky is built from 80% first fill and 20% refill bourbon casks, distilled in 2006, only a year after Kilchoman was founded. That makes 2006 Vintage one of the earliest examples of the distillery daring to commit to a fixed age statement — a step that required patience from a distillery otherwise living off young, energetic releases.

With its high proportion of first fill casks, the whisky carries a noticeably sweeter, more wood-driven character than many of the early seasonal releases, while Kilchoman's characteristic citrus-fresh peat smoke remains clearly present.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Vanilla and sweet caramel from the first fill casks meet a fresh, almost sharp peat smoke and a hint of green apple.

    Palate

Round and sweet, with honey and mature wood that slowly gives way to a growing, spiced smoke.

    Finish

Medium length, dry and smoky, with a final, gentle sweetness from the bourbon casks.

    Item no.: 22227865411-304

Only a small number of bottles from this vintage ever reached Denmark. 2008 Vintage is one of the lesser-known chapters in Kilchoman's early history — a whisky that never got much attention, but still carries all the raw energy from the distillery's first years.

    Expert's description

Kilchoman 2008 Vintage is an Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 7 years old and bottled at 46 %.

The whisky was distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2015, giving it seven years of maturation — longer than many of Kilchoman's other early releases. Only a limited number of bottles were allocated to the Danish market, making it one of the more rarely seen vintages from this period.

With seven years of maturation behind it, 2008 Vintage shows a more rounded character than the younger 3 and 4 year old single cask releases from the same period, while retaining the fresh, citrus-tinged smoke that defines Kilchoman's style.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Ripe apples and honey meet a distinct but balanced peat smoke, with a hint of vanilla.

    Palate

  • Bottle of Kilchoman Sanaig Islay Single Malt Whisky, sherry-matured
    Item no.: 22227865411-401

If Machir Bay is Kilchoman's bright, fresh public face, Sanaig is the darker, more contemplative younger sibling. Named after a rocky coastline north of the distillery, it's built to balance sherry depth against Islay peat smoke.

    Expert's description

Kilchoman Sanaig is an Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, matured in a combination of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 46 %.

Sanaig was developed as a counterpoint to Machir Bay: where the flagship rests mainly on bourbon casks, Sanaig is built from a majority of oloroso sherry casks, giving it a deeper, darker and spicier profile. The sherry casks come from Miguel Martin in Jerez, the same supplier that also provides casks to Glenfarclas.

The result is a whisky that holds on to Kilchoman's citrus-fresh signature smoke, but lets it play alongside caramel, dried fruit and a distinct sherry sweetness — a balance that has made Sanaig a fixed point in the distillery's core range.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Caramel and honey meet dried fruit and a sweet, coastal peat smoke, with a hint of citrus in the background.

    Palate

Round and spiced, with the sherry's sweetness first, followed by a growing wave of smoke and a touch of dark chocolate.

Knaplund 5 Year Wheated Straight Bourbon Limited Edition is a Danish Whiskey inspired by the bourbon tradition, bottled at 50% and aged for 5 years. Where a classic bourbon uses rye as the secondary grain, this one uses wheat — giving a softer, more fruit-forward character. Lindores Abbey is regarded as the spiritual birthplace of whisky. Scotland's Exchequer Rolls of 1494 record that the monk Friar John Cor was issued eight bolls of malt by order of the King to make 'aqua vitae' — the earliest known written reference to Scotch whisky distillation, equivalent to around 400 bottles by today's standards. Lindores Abbey monastery was founded in 1191 on the banks of the River Tay, and in 2018 archaeologists found remains of a distillation vessel in the ruins. The modern distillery opened in 2017 right next to the historic abbey ruins.

  • Macallan 12 Year Old Sherry Oak Collection Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
    Item no.: 22227865145-2025

No other whisky has made the sherry cask a world-famous synonym for quality the way Macallan 12 Year Old Sherry Oak has. It is not just an expression — it is a reference point. The bottle against which most others are measured.

    Expert description

Macallan 12 Year Old Sherry Oak is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in sherry seasoned European oak casks and bottled at 40%. Macallan was one of the first distilleries to systematically use 100% sherry casks for maturation, and the 12 Year Old Sherry Oak is the core expression of that tradition. The oak casks are produced in Spain, seasoned with Oloroso sherry before being sent to Macallan, and give the whisky its characteristic dried fruit, warm spices and silky smooth structure.

12 years is the classic age, and this is where Macallan's DNA is most clearly expressed. Not too young to have edges, not too old to have freshness.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Dried fruit and candied citrus peel with oak, ginger and nutmeg. Raisins, sultanas and orange notes with festive spices like cinnamon and clove.

    Palate

Raisins and sultanas with ginger syrup and sweet cinnamon. Sherry, plums and powdered sugar sweetness with a silky mouthfeel.

    Finish

Long with oak and warming ginger. Dried fruit and mandarin linger.

    Did you know?

Macallan has produced Sherry Oak as its core style since 1824 and helped make the concept of "sherry-matured whisky" internationally recognised. The distillery owns its own woodland in Spain, where it grows the oak trees later used for sherry casks.

  • Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
    Item no.: 2222786544-4785

Macallan took the two great oak traditions — European and American — and set them to work together. Double Cask is the result: a whisky that doesn't have to choose sides, but benefits from both.

    Expert description

Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask is a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in sherry seasoned European and American oak casks and bottled at 40%. While the classic Sherry Oak uses only European oak, Double Cask introduces American oak casks seasoned with Oloroso sherry. American oak provides a softer, sweeter profile with more vanilla and coconut, and the result is a lighter, more accessible Macallan than its Sherry Oak sibling.

Double Cask is a good entry point into the Macallan range and a great everyday dram. It does not eclipse its older Sherry Oak sibling, but it is more approachable and has broader appeal.

American oak is far more commonly used for bourbon than for Scotch whisky — Macallan was one of the first distilleries to introduce American sherry casks into Speyside distillation as a systematic part of their production.

  • Bottle of Mackmyra Skördetid Swedish Single Malt Whisky
    Item no.: 22227865446-897

Skördetid, harvest time in Swedish, draws its sweetness from an unusual source: Italian Amarone casks that have given this Mackmyra release a fullness of red grapes and raisins rarely found in Nordic whisky.

    The Expert's Description

Mackmyra Skördetid is a Swedish Single Malt Whisky partly matured in Italian Masi Costasera Amarone casks and bottled at 46.1%.

The whisky is assembled from several cask types: primarily first-fill Masi Costasera Amarone casks, first-fill bourbon casks and first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, supplemented by smaller amounts of American oak previously filled with Pedro Ximénez sherry, as well as Mackmyra's own 30-litre Reserve casks. The result is a whisky with rich colour and clear fruitiness from the red wine casks.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Sweet, rich tones of red grapes and raisins, crossed with soft herbal spice.

    Palate

Full-bodied and fruity with clear Amarone character, where sweetness and spice go hand in hand with Mackmyra's clean, malty base.

Long and warm with a final tone of dried red-wine fruit.
