Distilled at Bowmore in 2015 and bottled by Cadenhead's in May 2026 for their Original Collection — the series where Scotland's oldest independent bottler showcases distillery character at an accessible strength of 46%, without sherry or wine casks to distract from the spirit itself.

  Maturing entirely on bourbon casks, the wood's influence is clear in the glass: mango, pineapple and vanilla come forward, while Bowmore's own maritime, lightly smoky character runs as an undercurrent throughout. The result is an Islay whisky that leans light and fruity rather than dark and heavy — showing a very different side of Bowmore from the heavily sherried expressions one more commonly encounters.

  Nose

  Mango, kiwi peel and tropical fruit meet vanilla pod and marzipan, with a gentle undercurrent of candlelight smoke, a trace of peat and just a hint of maritime minerality behind it all.

  Palate

  Icing sugar and grilled pineapple open things up, quickly followed by a flinty, mineral edge and a touch of oregano that brings a light herbal contrast to the fruit sweetness.

  Finish

  Cinnamon sticks and soft smoke with a trace of cassia bark pull it into a medium-length, spiced finish with fruit lingering in the background.

  Murray McDavid's Benchmark Series is an experimental line that systematically explores cask combinations in larger batches. The PX finish here lasts seven months – short enough to preserve Caol Ila's character, long enough for the Spanish dessert wine to leave its mark.

  1,242 bottles were produced. Ximenez-Spinola is one of the most acclaimed PX houses in Jerez, and it is from them that Murray McDavid sourced these casks.

  Nose

  Dried fruit – raisins and dark plums – blends with Caol Ila's maritime smoke. A note of mocha and orange peel gives depth.

  Palate

  Delicate and fruity. Smoke and PX sweetness find each other in good balance. Mocha, dark dried fruit and a soft, lightly oily texture.

  Finish

  Gentle and lingering. Smoke and sweetness fade side by side with a fresh note of smoke and fruit at the end.

  Murray McDavid's Benchmark Series systematically experiments with unusual cask combinations in larger batches. This batch produced 1,694 bottles. The 14-month finish in Cognac casks contributes a sweet, lightly winey complexity lifting it above a simple bourbon profile.

  Caol Ila at six years is fresh and direct – the smoke is clear, the distillate body is present, and the Cognac finish adds a sweeter frame without erasing the distillate's maritime character.

  Sweet and smoky at once. Sweet peat, ginger and apple – the Cognac cask adds a lightly fruity glow behind Caol Ila's typical maritime smoke.

  Caol Ila 2015/2023 Wilson & Morgan 8 Years is an Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in refill hogsheads with a finish in first-fill Virgin Oak casks, bottled at 57.1%.

  Wilson & Morgan is an Italian, family-owned bottler founded in Barolo country in 1992 with a keen eye for Scottish casks. This is the 2nd batch of the series from Caol Ila, with cask numbers #314293-97 and #314299-301. 2,383 bottles were produced.

  The Virgin Oak cask – never previously used – is intense: it contributes powerful notes of vanilla and coconut along with spice, but none of the buttery sweetness that a sherry cask would give. Combined with Caol Ila's maritime smoke, an aromatic backbone emerges that is clear and vivid.

  Tasting notes

  Nose

  Warm vanilla and coconut from the Virgin Oak open, followed by Caol Ila's peat smoke and fresh citrus. A hint of cinnamon and cloves in the background.

  Palate

  Robust and aromatic. Smoke and oak spice sit close together, with an underlying freshness of green apple and citrus peel. No buttery sweetness – direct, clean character.

  Danish Whisky MegaBlend First Edition 2026 is a Danish Blended Malt Whisky at 50%. It is the first release in the MegaBlend series — a collaborative expression in which distillates from a number of Danish distilleries have been selected and blended by a master blender. Blended Malt Whisky (as opposed to Blended Scotch) contains exclusively malt distillates from multiple distilleries. The result is a snapshot of the Danish whisky scene in 2026: breadth, diversity and community in one bottle.

  Tasting notes

  Nose

  Complex and composite. Sweet malt and oak meet fruity and lightly spiced notes from the contributions of the various distilleries. Nuanced and inviting.

  Palate

  Round and balanced at 50%. Classic malt base with oak and sweetness. The complexity comes from the blend of the distilleries' individual characters, integrated into a coherent expression.

  Finish

  Long and warm with malt, oak and light dried fruit.

  Ezra Brooks 7 Year Mac Y Single Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey is a powerful and characterful American rye bottled at cask strength, selected from a single virgin American oak barrel filled on September 9th, 2017. After almost eight years of maturation, it was bottled in late summer 2025 at 57%, delivering an intense and unfiltered flavour experience. The whiskey is made from Lux Row Distillers’ classic rye mash bill consisting of 51% rye, 45% corn and 4% malted barley – a combination that provides spice, sweetness and depth.

  The aroma opens with soft, dessert‑like notes of nougat, coconut and vanilla, followed by fresh oak and a hint of English wine gums. The palate is warm and spicy with clear rye character, toasted coconut and salted peanuts, rounded off by a pleasant vanilla sweetness. The finish is long and persistent, with warming spices, charred oak and the high proof building gradually and lingering.

  An intense, well‑aged single barrel rye that shows how elegant yet bold an almost eight‑year‑old American rye whiskey can be. Perfect enjoyed neat or with a drop of water to open up the deeper layers.
