    Item no.: 22227865454-18337

Glenrothes is known for its sherry-driven fingerprint, and the 12 Year Old Soleo Collection is the distillery's way of showing exactly what a proper sherry cask can do for a whisky.

    Expert's Description

Glenrothes 12 Year Old Soleo Collection is a Single Speyside Malt Whisky from the distillery in Rothes, matured exclusively in casks that have been sherry-seasoned.

Nordic oak grows more slowly than American oak, giving denser wood with a different pore structure – this can give whisky a more spiced, dry character than the classic bourbon and sherry casks.

    Expert Description

Highland Park 10 Year Old Viking Scars is a Single Orkney Malt Whisky matured in oak casks and bottled at 40%.

The name Viking Scars belongs to the design Highland Park introduced in 2017, giving the bottles a more rugged look with details inspired by Viking-age symbols and scars. The whisky itself is the distillery's entry-level 10 year old, built to be accessible without compromising on the characteristic Orkney style.

It offers an unusually soft and round palate with a light peated character, making it a solid introduction to Highland Park's world.

  • Hogshead Fine Old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky with pig label design
    Item no.: 22227865480-67093-0186

A little pig grins out from the label, and the name is a play on the classic hogshead cask, the roughly 200-litre barrels whisky matures in right across Scotland. Behind the playful front sits a blend that never reveals where it comes from, yet speaks for itself in the glass.

    The expert's description

Hogshead Fine Old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky is a Blended Malt Scotch Whisky with no age statement and no disclosed distilleries, bottled at 43%.

The whisky is composed entirely of malt whisky from several Scottish distilleries, a large share of which is thought to come from Islay, rounded out with a gentler base likely from the Highlands or Speyside. Neither the source distilleries nor the bottling company are named on the bottle, which is common for this type of accessible blend that relies on its flavour rather than its pedigree.

In the glass the colour is light amber, and the style is considerably milder than the name and the presumed Islay component might suggest. This is a whisky built to be broad and welcoming rather than uncompromising.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Fresh oranges and a touch of black pepper meet gentle smoke and mint, with a faint yeasty note underneath.

    Palate

Soft, sweet smoke moves into sherry sweetness and fruit candy, with a small maritime whisper in the background.

    Finish

Medium length, with grapes, sweet liquorice and dark bread, before a light fruit acidity lingers as the last impression.

    Item no.: 505956-498796-464-18

The journey to Islay begins on the ferry from Kennacraig, where the sea air starts to smell properly of seaweed and smoke. Islay Journey is the Laing family's take on exactly that crossing, a bottle built entirely from the island's own distilleries, assembled by the people behind Ardnahoe.

    The expert's description

Hunter Laing Islay Journey Series is an Islay Blended Malt Scotch Whisky, composed of malt whisky from several Islay distilleries and bottled at 46%.

The whisky belongs to Hunter Laing & Co.'s Journey Series, a range of regional blended malts in which Islay Journey represents the island's characteristic peated style. Behind the bottle stands Hunter Laing & Co., a family-owned bottler founded in 2013 by Stewart Laing together with his sons Andrew and Scott, and since 2018 also owner of Islay's newest distillery, Ardnahoe. The malt behind Islay Journey has matured in bourbon hogsheads before being married together for this no-age-statement release.

Islay Journey is designed as an accessible introduction to the island's whisky style, with several distilleries contributing to the overall character rather than letting a single signature dominate.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Dry smoke, ash and tar settle like a blanket over the aroma, with a touch of salted caramel behind it.

    Palate

Robust peat meets sea salt and seaweed, with an oily texture that ties the different distilleries together.

    Jack Daniel’s Blackberry Tennessee 70 cl 35%

Jack Daniel’s Blackberry is a fruity and smooth whiskey liqueur based on the classic Tennessee Whiskey, enhanced with natural blackberry flavour. At 35% ABV, it delivers a style that blends the warmth of whiskey with a sweet, juicy berry profile.

The taste is soft and rounded, with clear notes of ripe blackberries, vanilla and a hint of oak from the whiskey base. It is less intense than traditional Jack Daniel’s, making it ideal for those who prefer a more accessible and fruit‑forward experience. The finish is mild, sweet and gently warmed by the underlying whiskey character.

It works beautifully served over ice, in simple cocktails or as a sweet element in long drinks. A great bottle for summer drinks, dessert cocktails or for anyone exploring whiskey liqueurs with a fruity twist.

Jack Daniel's Bonded Rye Tennessee Whiskey is a tribute to authentic craftsmanship and tradition. This exceptional rye whiskey is crafted under the "Bottled-in-Bond" standards, meaning it is distilled by one master distiller, aged at one distillery, and stored under strict supervision for a minimum of four years. The result is a complex and well-balanced whiskey that appeals to both new and seasoned whiskey enthusiasts.

Jack Daniel's Bonded Rye offers a spicy and rich flavor profile, where the character of the rye truly shines. The aroma opens with notes of honey, vanilla, and spices, while the palate reveals hints of dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and a touch of smoke. The finish is long and pleasantly spiced – a true delight for the senses.

    Item no.: 22227865479-1106-1972753

The black label with the white script has become just as recognisable as the whiskey inside it — Old No. 7 is the bottle everything else from Jack Daniel's gets measured against.

    Expert description

Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 is a no-age-statement Tennessee Whiskey, bottled at 40%. Jack Daniel's Distillery was founded in 1866 by Jasper Newton "Jack" Daniel in Lynchburg, Tennessee, and is officially registered as America's first distillery. All production still happens on the same site, where the whiskey is filtered drop by drop through nearly 3 metres of sugar maple charcoal before going into new, charred oak barrels — the Lincoln County Process that defines Tennessee Whiskey.

The core of the recipe is a mash of corn, rye and malted barley, fermented, distilled and then filtered through the charcoal before resting in new, charred oak barrels. The result is the smoothness and round sweetness the brand is known for worldwide.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

The nose offers caramel, vanilla and a hint of banana, carried by the characteristic smoothness from the charcoal filtering.

    Palate

The palate is round and lightly sweet, with caramel and gentle oak spice, without sharp edges.

    Finish

The finish is short to medium, warm and soft, with a lingering caramel and vanilla note.

Most bottles of Jack Daniel's are a blend of many barrels. This one is from just one — and you can taste it.

    Expert description

Single Barrel Select is drawn from a single barrel rather than a blend of many, giving a more intense, barrel-driven profile than Old No. 7. Barrels for this range are selected from the top floors of the warehouses, where temperature swings are greatest.

Bottled at 45%, it carries extra power compared to the core range's 40%.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

The nose offers bold caramel, burnt sugar and toasted oak, more intense than Old No. 7.

    Palate

The palate is full-bodied with vanilla, caramel and spiced oak, backed by the higher strength.

    Finish

The finish is long and warm, with lingering oak spice and caramel.

A Finnish idea born in a sauna became a tribute to rye's role in the country's history.

    Expert description

Juuri Kyrö Rye Single Malt Spirit is a Finnish rye spirit, bottled at 46.3%, from Kyrö Distillery. The idea for the distillery emerged when five Finnish friends were sitting in a sauna drinking American rye whisky and wondered why no rye-based whisky distilleries existed in Finland, a country where rye has historically been a central crop. The distillery was registered in 2012 and built in an old dairy building in the village of Isokyrö. 'Juuri', meaning 'roots' in Finnish, is made entirely from whole rye grain, the most demanding grain to distil, highlighting rye's role in Finnish culture and agriculture.
