41 - 53 Euro Whisky

  • Juuri Kyro 100% Rye Spirit
    Item no.: 2222786539-1079
Juuri means both 'origin' and the basis for baking great rye bread. It is made from 100% pure Finnish malted rye - and is the raw, unaged rye spirit that forms the basis of the Nordic region's first Single Malt Rye Whisky. Their first rye whisky will be released in 2017 and will be the first Nordic Single Malt Rye Whisky. Until then, we can enjoy their Juuri 'New Make' malted rye!

Tasting notes: Fresh sweetness and slightly spicy rye can be sensed on the nose, but dominates on the tongue. After an initial dryness, notes of licorice root and star anise follow, which in turn are replaced by the taste of lightly spiced, traditional Finnish rye bread.

    The Expert's Description

København Klassisk is a Swedish Whisky from Bergslagen Destilleri, bottled under the Nordic Gin House label, at 46%.

The whisky matured in used bourbon casks, giving it a soft and round character focused on vanilla and caramel rather than heavy oak spice. The name is a nod to Copenhagen, even though the whisky is actually produced in Sweden - a small contrast that's part of Nordic Gin House's concept.

  • Bottle of Loch Lomond Distiller's Choice Single Grain Whisky
    Item no.: 059763-615-467

Some whiskies exist because a distillery can do something others simply can't. Loch Lomond Distiller's Choice is proof of that – a single grain made entirely from malted barley, run through a Coffey still few other distilleries even own.

    Expert's Description

Loch Lomond Distiller's Choice 2023 Coffey Still is a Highland Single Grain Scotch Whisky matured in bourbon casks and bottled at 48.8%.

Although made entirely from 100% malted barley, it is classed as single grain because it is distilled on the distillery's continuous Coffey still rather than traditional pot stills. Master Blender Michael Henry has selected whisky aged between 5 and 12 years and combined 70% first-fill with 30% second-fill bourbon casks. It is neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Deep floral and fruit notes of rose and violet, alongside peach, pear and blackcurrant.

    Palate

Silky on the palate with tart fruits – blackberry and green apple – woven together with honey and malt.

  • Loch Lomond Grainstorm Peated Single Grain Scotch Whisky 70 cl 46%
    Item no.: 222278-6524775

On the banks of Loch Lomond, where Scotland's lowlands meet the highlands, sits a distillery that refuses to play by the rules. Here, peated malted barley runs through a column still instead of traditional copper pots — and the result is a whisky that behaves like neither malt nor grain, but insists on its own path.

    Expert's description

Loch Lomond Grainstorm Peated is a Highland Single Grain Scotch Whisky matured in bourbon casks and bottled at 46%.

The whisky is made exclusively from heavily peated malted barley, but because it's distilled in Loch Lomond Distillery's continuous column still rather than traditional pot stills, it's classified as single grain rather than single malt — a quirk that makes this bottle something of a genuine anomaly in Scotch production.

It's matured in a combination of first-fill and refill American oak bourbon casks under the eye of Master Blender Michael Henry, delivering a soft, fruity character with creamy vanilla and a whisper of smoke. The whisky sits in the distillery's permanent range and was relaunched under the Grainstorm name in late 2024.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

Clove and blackcurrant sit alongside citrus peel and a touch of freshly cut grass, with vanilla running underneath as a sweet current throughout.

    Palate

Sweet, tangy peat meets green apple and lime citrus on the tongue, with aniseed in the mix. The smoke stays in the background here — more spice than bonfire.

    Finish

The finish is crisp and dry, with a distant trace of peat smoke lingering long after the last sip.

Not all whisky from Loch Lomond comes from traditional pot stills. Grainstorm is the distillery's answer to what happens when malted barley runs through a Coffey still – and the result is far fruitier than most expect from a grain whisky.

    Expert's Description

Loch Lomond Grainstorm is a Highland Single Grain Scotch Whisky matured in American oak and bottled at 46%.

The whisky is distilled entirely from malted barley on the distillery's continuous Coffey still, making it a single grain rather than a single malt, even though the grain is the same. Maturation takes place exclusively in American oak, which gives the whisky its bright, fruity and slightly sweet character.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Citrus peel and fresh applesauce meet vanilla and sweet spice, with a hint of freshly cut grass in the background.

    Palate

Sweet fruitiness with green apple and star anise, growing softer and more floral towards the finish.

    Item no.: 059763-615-1032

On the banks of Scotland's most famous loch sits a distillery that isn't afraid to play with fire. Loch Lomond Steam & Fire comes from the same curiosity that drives the distillery's own on-site cooperage, where barrels aren't just aged but re-charred until they give the whisky something entirely its own.

    Expert's Description

Loch Lomond Steam & Fire is a Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in American oak and bottled at 46%.

The whisky begins its life in a combination of first-fill bourbon barrels and American oak, before moving into casks that are heavily re-charred at the distillery's own cooperage – a process staff call "steam and fire". Ten months of finishing on these hard-charred casks gives the whisky its signature depth of toasted wood and burnt sugar, without ever losing Loch Lomond's fruity, light house style.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Toffee and ripe apples meet a sweet caramel aroma with a touch of cinnamon and a light, tangy citrus edge.

    Palate

Silky on the palate with orange, peach and marmalade, sliding into toasted marshmallow and melted brown sugar – finishing with a hint of dark chocolate.

    Finish

Medium to long, dry finish with smoky dark chocolate and a gentle wisp of smoke from the charred casks.

    Item no.: 22227865465-3

Grain whisky rarely gets the spotlight, but at Michel Couvreur even the grain gets the same uncompromising care as the house malt.

    Expert's description

Michel Couvreur The Unique over 4 Years is a Grain Whisky matured in sherry casks and bottled at 44 percent.

The whisky carries at least 4 years of cask maturation and, like the rest of Couvreur's range, is matured further on fresh sherry casks using the house's fresh filling method in the damp cellars of Bouze-lès-Beaune. Grain whisky is typically lighter and more grain-sweet than malt whisky, but the cask gives it a surprising richness here.

Michel Couvreur travelled to Jerez himself to source his sherry casks, with help from Emilio Lustau, and shipped them - still wet with sherry - to the damp cellars of Burgundy. The village of Bouze-lès-Beaune sits almost symbolically halfway between Jerez and the Scottish Highlands.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

The nose is sweet and grainy with notes of vanilla, honey and a hint of ripe apple.

    Palate

    Item no.: 2222666333-2022-01-0004
Old Perth The Original Blended Malt Scotch Whisky 70 cl 46%Old Perth is old-school blended whisky. The name refers to the fact that the city of Perth was originally the epicenter of blended whisky. Old Perth was a blend created in 1908 as a tribute to the city. Its popularity is probably due to a large proportion of sherry-stocked whisky. The name fell into oblivion as the many producers moved out of the city, but today the famous Morrison whisky family continues to carry on the name and history. They have created a range of whiskies that are blended in Perth - from specially selected single malt whiskies. The whiskies all come from the Glenlivet region of Speyside and are aged exclusively in sherry casks.Old Perth "The Original " is the epitome of Speyside and sherry casks. It is sophisticated and sweet with distinct sherry flavors. It offers subtle notes of spices, dried fruits and cloves with honey.
"The Original " has no added color and is not chill filtered. The Morrison family is today led by Jamie and Brian Morrison. For generations, the family has worked with whisky in every conceivable way - in retail and wholesale sales, as blenders and bottlers, and not least as distillers. The family has run the distillery Bowmore for many years (before it was sold to Suntory). Today they are behind the small new distillery Aberargie.

  • Penderyn Icons of Wales Yma O Hyd bottle from Wales
    Item no.: 2227865479-1106-197280322-138

A protest song from 1981 became the national football team's anthem, and eventually the name of a whisky. It isn't often a bottle carries this much national pride inside it.

    Expert description

Penderyn Icons of Wales No. 10 Yma O Hyd is a Single Malt Welsh Whisky matured in American rye casks and bottled at 43%. The name is taken from Dafydd Iwan's iconic Welsh-language protest song 'Yma O Hyd' from 1981, a tribute to the survival of the Welsh language and culture, since adopted as the anthem of the national football team's supporters, known as 'The Red Wall'.

The bottle launched in 2022 as the official whisky partnership with the Football Association of Wales, tied to Wales's World Cup campaign that year. The rye casks give the whisky a spiced, peppery edge that sets it apart from most of Penderyn's other releases, where bourbon, sherry and port casks tend to dominate.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

The nose is floral with baking spice, caramel and the scent of baked apple and pear.

    Palate

The palate offers sweet caramel and sultana, spiced with cinnamon-apple, pepper and a touch of ginger and clove from the rye casks.

    Finish

The finish is caramel-sweet with a herbal, peppery close that lingers.

  • Penderyn Myth Single Malt Welsh Whisky bottle from Wales
    Item no.: 059763-615-278

Some whiskies try hard to impress you. Penderyn Myth doesn't bother — it's sweet, light and a little flirtatious, like a summer afternoon in the Brecon Beacons when the sun still has warmth but the shadows have started to stretch.

    Expert description

Penderyn Myth is a Single Malt Welsh Whisky matured in ex-bourbon casks and rejuvenated oak casks and bottled at 40%. The name draws on Y Ddraig Goch, the red dragon on the Welsh flag, and the myths that surround it — and the whisky itself is just as fable-like in character: sweet, fruity and surprisingly light on its feet.

It belongs to Penderyn's Dragon range, relaunched in new packaging in 2021, and it's distilled on the same single Faraday still that sets Penderyn apart from most of the world's distilleries — a column still designed by a relative of the physicist Michael Faraday. The result is a spirit of unusual purity that leaves the casks plenty of room to do their work.

    Tasting notes

    Nose

The nose weaves together citrus fruit and apple, with pear drops and the merest hint of tropical fruit before it fades again.

    Palate

The palate opens sweet before a refreshing bitterness takes over, while the mixed fruit carries through the whole sip — more pineapple and ripe apple than sharp citrus.

    Finish

The finish is short and light by design: a memory of a lively, easy-drinking whisky you'll want to come back to.

Penderyn takes its name from the very mountain that overlooks the distillery in the Brecon Beacons — and although the distillery only opened in 2000, the Welsh insist whisky has been distilled in the region since the 1400s, long before Scotland claimed the word.
