  • Gift set with four bottles of SBS 1423 Single Barrel Selection Jamaica rum
    Item no.: 059763-615-247

Four casks, four characters, one estate. This gift set shows just how differently oak can speak when the spirit itself is the same.

    Expert Description

SBS 2021/2023 Gift Set 1423 Single Barrel Selection Jamaica Rum is a set of four Rums from Worthy Park Estate in Jamaica, 2 years old, bottled on four different types of virgin oak casks.

The set contains four 20 cl bottles from the 1423 Single Barrel Selection range, all distilled at Worthy Park Estate in 2021 and bottled in 2023. The rum is un-chillfiltered and matured on virgin oak casks of Spanish, Danish, French and American origin respectively - four casks, each leaving a completely distinct mark on the powerful Jamaican rum. Worthy Park is known for high ester levels of up to 800 g/hL AA, giving the rum its characteristic, intense fruitiness.

The gift set offers a unique opportunity to taste your way through how four different oaks influence the same distillate - a small lesson in the importance of the cask, straight in the glass.

    Tasting Notes

    Palate

Powerful and fruit-forward, with varying spice and wood notes depending on the cask.

  • Bottle of Serum Panama Seasons Vintage 2005 Dry Rum
    Item no.: 059763-615-912

No sweeteners, no artificial colouring - just fresh cane juice distilled into a dry, unadorned rum for anyone who wants to taste Panama without a filter.

    Expert description

Serum Panama Seasons Vintage 2005 Dry is a dry Rum from the Sèrum distillery, bottled at 45%.

The sugar cane is chopped and crushed into fresh cane juice, which is then distilled directly - unlike the more common molasses-based rum - to preserve a fine aroma of cane and fruit. Panama Seasons Dry Vintage 2005 is non-chill filtered and has no added sweetener or artificial colouring, giving a cleaner, more unadorned rum style than many other Panamanian releases.

Sèrum is a Panamanian rum brand founded in 2018 that draws inspiration from the history of the Panama Canal. With the Panama Seasons series, the distillery shows another side of the country's rum tradition, where the agricole-inspired approach using fresh cane juice contrasts with the brand's more classic molasses rum.

    Item no.: 059763-615-913

Where "Dry" shows off the cane's raw character, "Wet" goes the other way - a softer, rounder take on the same Panamanian cane juice.

    Expert description

Serum Panama Seasons Vintage 2005 Wet is a Rum from the Sèrum distillery, bottled at 40%.

Like its dry sibling, the Wet release is distilled from fresh, concentrated cane juice rather than molasses, giving a fine aroma of cane and fruit. Where the Dry release leans into the rum's raw, unfiltered side, the Wet version is composed for a softer, more approachable style, still built on the same 2005 vintage and the same respect for the cane's natural character.

Sèrum is a Panamanian rum brand founded in 2018, drawing on the history of the Panama Canal. The Panama Seasons series, to which both Wet and Dry belong, shows two sides of the same craft - one raw and unadorned, the other round and inviting.

    Expert Description

Smooth Ambler 1990 Revelation is a Jamaica Rum, a blend of column still and pot still distillates with an average age of 28 years, bottled at 49.5%.

The rum was assembled by Smooth Ambler Spirits, the American distillery in West Virginia founded in 2009, primarily known for whiskey, for which this release was their first rum bottling. A single cask from 1987, kept for three decades before being bottled as one of the rarest Colombian rum releases on the Danish market.

    Expert Description

TDSC Colombian Rum 30 Year Single Cask 1987 is a Colombia Rum from a single cask, distilled in 1987 and bottled at 45%.

The rum originates from Destilería Colombiana and is part of TDSC's series of aged, single-cask Colombian rum releases. The 30 years in cask have given the rum a deep, mature character that is rare in this category, where most releases are considerably younger. As a single cask release, the number of bottles is naturally limited.

The result is a deep and complex rum, where dried fruit and oak meet a long, spiced finish.

  • Trinidad 2011 2021 Blackadder Raw Cask 11 Year Finest Trinidad Rum bottle
    Item no.: 2227865479-1106-197280322-95

Blackadder never bottles its Raw Cask series with filtration or added colour, meaning every bottle comes completely unadorned, straight from cask to glass.

    Expert Description

Trinidad 2011/2021 Blackadder Raw Cask 11 Year Finest Trinidad is a Trinidad Rum from a single cask, aged for 11 years and bottled at 66.4%.

The rum is bottled by Blackadder International, the family-run Scottish bottler founded in 1995 by Robin Tucek. Under the Raw Cask mark, Blackadder bottles rum and whisky straight from the cask with no filtration whatsoever, neither chill nor mechanical, and no added colouring. This means small fragments of cask char can travel into the bottle, something Blackadder itself calls "cask throwings" and uses as proof that the rum is as natural as it can be. This Trinidadian rum was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2021 after 11 years of ageing, at a high natural cask strength of 66.4%.

The result is an intense, spiced rum, where dark fruit and molasses meet a long, burning finish with notes of pitch and oak.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

  • Trolden The Stokers Rum Lindely Nattefrost Edition Danish Rum bottle
    Item no.: 2227-88545

Eight kilometres from Trolden Distillery in Kolding lies the Lindely vineyard, where grapes are frozen to make a Danish ice wine called Nattefrost, and it is the emptied Nattefrost casks that give this rum its name.

    Expert Description

Trolden The Stokers Rum Lindely Nattefrost Edition is a Danish Rum finished in ice wine casks, bottled at 58%.

The rum comes from Trolden Destilleri & Bryghus in Kolding, where its own molasses-based rum was filled into casks that previously held Lindely vineyard's Nattefrost, a Danish ice wine made from grapes that are picked and pressed, then frozen for four weeks and slowly thawed to concentrate their sweetness. After two years of ageing in bourbon casks, the rum spent a further year in these ice wine casks, adding a sweet, fruity dimension on top of the powerful, molasses-driven base character. The range is named The Stokers, a nod to the fire-tenders who traditionally kept the distillation process running.

The result is a powerful yet sweet-toned rum, where molasses and oak meet a fruity, almost wine-like finish from the ice wine casks.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Molasses, toasted oak and a sweet hint of white grapes.

    Palate

Powerful and spiced with caramel and a fruity, wine-like sweetness.

    Finish

  • Velier 12 year old Foursquare 2013 Barbados Pure Single Rum 60%
    Item no.: 2225416-3788

Some bottles are finished when the calendar says so. Others get to wait. Foursquare 2013 is one that waited — ten years longer than anyone expected, in the Barbados heat, where more than half of what went into the cask has long since evaporated up through the wood and out into the tropical air.

    Expert's Description

Foursquare 2013 12 Year is a Barbados Pure Single Rum, distilled 100% in a pot still and bottled at 60%. The story starts in 2015, when Habitation Velier and Foursquare's distiller Richard Seale released the very first Foursquare Pure Single Rum onto the market — just two years old at the time. This bottle is the same project, ten tropical years later. Instead of dumping the casks in 2015, they were left to keep resting, and the result is a rum that has lost more than 60% of its volume to the angels along the way. It is a radically different story from the young 2015 release — more wood, more time, more concentration.

The rum was distilled on Foursquare's double retort pot still, built by Green Engineering and Forsyths, and has spent its entire life in 370-litre ex-cognac casks in Barbados' tropical climate. That is the same philosophy that makes Habitation Velier one of the most respected names in rum: no sugar, no colouring, no dilution. Just time, wood, and an island climate that works faster than any European warehouse ever could.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

The aroma is complex and a little wild at the edges — ripe tropical fruit mingles with spice and a touch of something medicinal, almost camphor-like. Underneath sits a deep, woody scent from the cognac casks, along with a faint lactic freshness that keeps the whole thing from turning heavy.

    Palate

On the palate it is intense and spicy, with traces of flowers and a warm, woody core. The cognac casks have given it a slightly tart edge that plays against the fruit.

    Finish

Long and woody, where the medicinal and spicy notes linger, and that same lactic freshness reappears right at the very end.

High. The casks behind this bottle are the same ones behind the legendary first Foursquare Pure Single Rum from 2015 — now ten years older, with a loss of over 60% to the angels. It is a historic restart of one of rum's most talked-about collaborations, and the quantity is inevitably small.

    Did You Know?

The term Pure Single Rum is not an official classification at all. It was coined by Luca Gargano of Velier together with Richard Seale, specifically to describe rums like this one: distilled on a single pot still, at a single distillery, with nothing added.

  • Velier 2024 Rainforest Philippines Pure Single Rum 58%
    Item no.: 2225916-378774

Deep in the rainforest of Mindanao, where the air hangs thick with cane and wet earth, a distillery most people have never heard of has just bottled its very first release. Rainforest 2024 is that first attempt, aged where it grew.

    Expert's description

Rainforest 2024 Philippines Pure Single Rum is a Philippines Pure Single Rum matured in ex-Chardonnay casks and bottled at 58%.

The rum comes from Rainforest Distillers, founded in 2015 by master distiller Marc Schulze in Bukidnon on the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines. Schulze is also behind Kasa Kaña Rum Agrikultura, and Rainforest 2024 marks the distillery's first bottling in the Habitation Velier range – a genuine world première for a country that barely registers on the rum map yet.

The rum is distilled from the local heirloom cane variety Manpu and fermented for 9 to 11 days with dunder and muck that has itself rested in the tropical Bukidnon biome. After pot still distillation – which earns the rum its Pure Single Rum status under the Gargano Classification – it spent 20 months in ex-Chardonnay casks maturing inside the rainforest itself. The tropical heat and humidity push the Angels' share above 10% a year. No sugar is added, and the rum is bottled at cask strength.

    Tasting Notes

    Nose

Fresh cane juice meets pineapple, lime and coconut milk, with vanilla and a whisper of camphor emerging as it opens, alongside something close to freshly cut sugarcane.

    Palate

Clean and lively, with a medicinal edge, liquorice and a faintly oily texture that carries the cane character all the way through.

    Finish

Long, dry and citrus-fresh, with traces of pear and pineapple, dressed in floral and herbal notes reminiscent of a lime and basil tart.

The plan was only three months of finishing - reality turned out nearly four times as long, because Wagemut wouldn't stop until it was exactly right.

    Expert Description

Wagemut XO is a Barbados Rum, distilled and aged for 18 years on American white oak barrels, with a finishing period of nearly 12 months in first-fill PX sherry casks, bottled at 43.8%.

The long 18-year base ageing gives the rum a solid fundamental character, which the PX sherry casks then build upon. The original plan for the finishing period was only three months, but Wagemut let the casks work markedly longer - nearly a whole year - to achieve the right balance between the sherry's sweetness and the rum's own strength. The result is a subtle, natural sweetness that surprises without becoming overwhelming. Each bottle is hand-filled and individually numbered, giving each bottle a personal touch.

Worthy Park is among the most respected names in modern Jamaican rum, and Single Estate Reserve is the distillery's entry point into what the whole estate's rum tradition can deliver.

    Expert Description

Worthy Park Single Estate Reserve is a Jamaica Rum, distilled and aged by Worthy Park Estate in casks from 6 to 10 years and bottled at 45%.

Worthy Park is one of Jamaica's oldest and most respected producers, with roots dating back to 1670, and the distillery is known for growing its own sugar cane, distilling and ageing everything in-house, a rarity in the rum world. Single Estate Reserve is a blend of rum aged 6 to 10 years, assembled to showcase the distillery's signature, ester-rich style, which has become a staple among bartenders and rum enthusiasts worldwide.

The style is powerful and vibrant, with a pronounced tropical fruitiness that has become one of Worthy Park's hallmarks.
